They'll have to take the pills for their 'health'. If they do start questioning about what's happening to them, they will be told it's probably an allergic reaction. In severe cases, they'll be forced to undergo some form of brainwashing, through one way or another, or be bribed through a raise. Of course, that doesn't mean they could lie about taking it.
