Risk Risk Everything

Hi all,

I have another idea - as always I'm not opposed to playing multple characters for either person. I love to GM and not give away too much but I'm certain most people can figure out where this story is going. I'm a casual to advanced role player for those of you that don't know me. I try to post every day but some times I get busy like everyone else.

Feel free to msg me if you're interested.

Now for the story, think of this as the intro to a really good book ;)

The air was filled with the stench of blood and smoke. Every inch of the city burned. There were cried of men and women both being put to rest. They screamed in agony as if being tortured. Finally the city fell quiet and the crackling of the fires on the buildings were all that could be heard. There was no wind to spread the fire and no rain to put it out. The occasional snapping and clashing of buildings giving into the fire and falling apart.

On the back of a painted warhorse sat a woman, side saddle dress in red and black. She pushed her long black curls of hair from her face as she looked at the burning city, standing just where the cobblestone path turned to dirt. Her stunning warhorse shifted under her, impatient as always. Her dress swished from the horse’s movements ruffling the black fabric catching the sun, showing the careful red detailing. Between her lovely round breasts sat a pendant shaped as a war axe and made of red rubies.
The woman stroked her fingers of the shiny fur of the beasts’ neck as she gazed out into the horizon, watching the army slowly coming over the hills, marching towards her. She giggled and slid from her horse with confidence. The horse turned his wide head to her and she gave his nose a gentle pat. “It’s alright fleet, we will meet again.” She kissed the horse’s nose. “Find yourself a good town and work until I return. Don’t you put up with any bullshit either.” She grinned and undid his bridal, letting it slip from the horse’s nose. There was no bit in the beasts’ mouth to remove, he was too well trained for that. She dropped it then moved to his side taking the saddle he wore off as well. Despite how dainty she was, she lifted the saddle with ease and dropped it to the ground. She stroked her hands over the power flanks of her beloved horse, Fleet. “Kill when you must, do what you must to be the horse I see before me now. Now go.” She gave him one last final pat, and pushed his head away from her. Fleet took off in a full gallop away from the army that marched towards his beloved master.

The woman took what she needed from the saddle on the ground and using her sabre she went to work carving in the ash and soot, the runes she would need for her magic. She chanted the entire time, smiling to herself. Thinking about the destruction all of this would bring made her giggle with delight. Thousands would die today, after the hundreds she had already killed. How easy it was going to be to feast after this event. She would get everything she wanted today.

She continued to giggle to herself until she was finished with the web of runes on the ground. She made her way to the back of her web, like a spider waiting for her prey. She made a throne from corpses and rubble and sat herself on it. A man in fully clad armor became her seat, being held up by long pieces of wood, probably from a roof of a building, she didn’t much care it was how it would look to the men she was about to face that mattered. She sunk the wood into the man’s flesh, and with just a touch of magic she made blood ooze from his corpse. Under him was a stack of stones to keep him level and corpses piled under that. It wasn’t hard to move bodies when blood was still in their veins. Now she couldn’t raise an army, at least not right now but after today, she could.

The dark woman settled herself onto the throne and watched as the men just came into view at a trot that instantly slowed as they saw her. She had never waited for these men before, in all the years they had hunted her. She bit her lip as the army walked into her web. Her head tilted as she looked at their leader.

“Oh poor Alador..” She spoke suddenly. The army froze, clearly many of them already afraid of her, despite their numbers. “You have come so far. Wanting to kill me and yet.. I surrender. I am tired of this never ending game, you can’t kill me if I surrender can you?” She pouted, reaching up and stroking the helmet of the man that was her throne. “This could be you darling… remember when I used to sit with you like this. All it would take is for me to lift..” Her voice trailed off as she moved her dress exposing her pale slender legs to all of the men. “Then you could have me..” Her sensual voice carried over the men.

Alador shuddered, “Witch I will end you and all that you are! You wll nno longer plague this world with your demon magic!” He bellowed and raised his sword. His leaders followed in drawing their swords and gave forth war cries. Arrows from the back lines of his army filled the sky like a black cloud. Alador stared at her, his eyes narrowed knowing she would defend herself from such an attack.
So she did, this wasn’t the first time they had fought. Corpses from at her feet rose up and shielded her, the arrows filling the bodies that floats all around her. Then another command was bellowed and the lancers changed forward. There it was the army moving forward. She had them now as she watched the army lines finally fall into place. She had set this web further than ever before. She smiled suddenly, looking Alador right in the eyes despite being so far away. She rose from her throne and spread her arms wide.

“Fall back!!” Alador suddenly screeched but the men couldn’t turn to run. They were too tightly packed into the streets of the city to simply turn around, those that did stop were trampled by horses and other men. The screaming began to fill the air once again.
The woman smiled, pleased with herself, she didn’t even have to cast a spell to start feeding off of the fresh blood of the army, and she simply pushed that new blood into her magic. The ground came to life, glowing crimson red. Screams of agony came from the men and horses. There was no escape though as a black wall came up behind Aladors army. She had them, every last one of them. She unleashed her magic, men felt their blood boil so hot that their skin bubbled until the heat and burns simply killed them off. But she left Alador alone, simply binding him in place to watch all of his men die.

When she finally approached him since no man was well enough to even raise a blade at her he stared at her in horror. She reached up and lifted the helmet that covered his face. “If you had simply walked away this wouldn’t have happened, you doomed every man here.” He was about to protect but she leaned in, kissing him and taking every last drop from him, just as she did all of the men at her feet.

Once all was quiet once again she looked around herself and smiled. That had been easier than she thought. So she continued back to her things and picked them up, wishing now she hadn’t sent her beloved horse so far away. She began her walk in the direction the beast had gone. Behind her the runes vanished into dust leaving behind only the shriveled bodies of thousands of men. The stench would soon reach a town and word would spread like wild fire. She smiled to herself.

Night fell over the dark lady and she came to a stop, coming face to face with a man with no face. She smiled and set her things down. “My kingdom is far from claimed…” She said calmly. The dark being reached out and pulled her into his robes. She gasped just slightly, but embraced him.

“You must wait child and find an heir. For now.. this must rest.” The woman quickly lifted her head and gazed up at the faceless man. She didn’t at all understand what he meant. Then he placed his hand on her forehead and she collapsed.

****************************************

The inn keeper looked at the woman that sat quietly in the corner of the tavern, curled up in a tiny ball with a red dress on. “Where she come from mac?” A man asked the bar tender.
“Not Sure, she just came in and hasn’t left, said a word nor ordered. It’s been two days. There’s been a lot of strange around since that witch attack over in marlin..” He sighed. “I can’t help but think she was one of the nobles that saw it or somethin’.” He shook his head and looked to the man. “You know a few that might be able to help her in Kinra, I tell you what, you get her there and I’m certain when she knows what’s what again she’ll be able to reward you that’s not some cheap dress and we have lesser folk watching her, I worry about her. What do you say? Feel like taking some strange girl on a journey and probably get rich?” He chuckled, “and if not I’ll give you coin myself when you get back just for making sure she’ll not be harmed or worse.”
