to become an assassin, one must clear an exam and be recruited into the assassin academy which is run by the agency (aXe), where one selects and studies an ability and masters it during the course of the next 4 years. the students must select their weapon of choice and should procure it at their own risk while travelling
all over the world. this journey takes place in the last month of the training period. Once they find the suitable weapon, they are required to
bring it back with them and register it with the agency, after which they receive their licence. If a student is unable to find a suitable
weapon for himself, he fails the exam and is banned to take the test ever again. The harshness is due to fact that it is an assassins utmost
requirement to be in tune with one's own ability. If the student has not been able to find a weapon for himself, it means that he has
been studying the wrong ability for the past 4 years and has never once realized that he's not cut-out for it. He is therefore not in tune
with his ability. on the other hand, should a person return with a weapon and yet is unable to demonstrate a suitable level of skill in front
of the grand masters (around level 3), he is held back and given another month to be re-assessed. If he fails yet again, he shares
the same fate as the former kind of student. after receiving the licence, it is an assassin's choice to either be recruited into the agency
or work as a freelance assassin. (intel assassins and assassins with software skills do not have a choice but to work for the agency. The pay is
reasonably higher for them, even when compared to fellow agents). There is a long waiting list to be recruited into the agency, so most people
prefer the latter.
*there are 6 possible abilities, each has different skill types.
1 - poisoning
2 - camouflage
3 - precision
4 - long range
5 - technical
6 - intelligence; only ability that has no skill type. assassins rely on intel for really tricky jobs. Available only to agents working for AxE
Freelance intel assassins are rare since they are not allowed to work outside the agency. They are killed if they resign.
**skill
poisoning - neurotoxin, acid, hallucinogen and others
Camouflage - skin mod, adaptive, infiltrative
precision - blade, firepower, projectile
long range - sniper, projectile,
technical - demolitions, software; tech assassins with software skills also work only for the agency. Freelancers share the
same fate as the intel assassins.
Intelligence - provide crucial intel on jobs, high iq. work only for the agency.
***weapon
to be procured by the assassin on his/her own during the one month before graduation. A month is simply not enough to decide
and master a weapon to work with, therefore the student must work towards a single weapon from the minute he chooses the
ability he wishes to master. This is crucial, because if you're not in tune with your ability, you will never be able to decide
the weapon you wish to work with. each person is suited to a different style of combat and therefore a different kind of
weapon. This makes an assassin unique amongst others, even if they belong to the same ability or even the same skill type.
one precision assassin with blade skills might prefer an italian stiletto while the other might flaunt a japanese katana
The possibilities are endless. a weapon is an extension of an assassin's body. It must therefore be chosen with utmost
care.
****skill level
an assassin's level of skill with his weapon is assessed by the 10 grand masters after the student is able to procure
his weapon. the student is then given a skill level which is printed onto his licence should he pass the skill test
(requirement being around level 3). the level of skill ranges from level 3 (passing requirement) to a maximum level of
20(grand master). students pass with an average level of 4 to 5. Those who pass with a higher level are believed to turn out into the
best assassins. an assassin can always return after passing to get his skill level reassessed and updated on his
licence. Skill level is a measure of experience & weapon mastery of the assassin. those with higher levels naturally get the
higher paying and more delicate contracts. They are also first choice during recruitments into the agency.
the difference of as less as a single number can mean a lot when it comes to skill level. skill levels are classified
in the following manner
3-5 : ametuer
6-9 : semi-pro
10-14: pro
15-20: elite; level 20 being reserved only for grand masters
