This role-play would center around the Book series made by Rick Riordan though placed years later, yes I am including Part 2 of the series (heroes of Olympus).
I welcome pretty much as many people who would like to join this role-play. I will place rules and everything in an OOC that I will make in a day or two. as well as some guide lines as to what powers each character could gain from their godly parent. which Hera and Artemis would be two goddess that there would be no kids for (they are eternal maidens in Greek mythology, Hera only lays with Zeus, and Artemis is to much into the hunt)

I will control monsters, The gods, and pretty much every NPC character, so I wont have a main character, well if we have a lot of roleplayers at lest. if we don't then I will probably make a main character.

any questions just ask.

I have interest but I'd prefer there is no main character, just that you make a character with us.

I want to be a son of Hades, Poseidon, or Athena.

I don't mean like a specific main character to the story, I mean my specific main character, aka a character that I mainly use. i'm not crazy enough to make where my character alone be the central character lol, and if I make a character or not to use will depend on pretty much how many roleplayers we gain. if we don't gain much then I will make a character specificly for me. if we get a lot then I will only control all the npc type stuff so everyone can get chances to do things.

all 3 of those are open so they are possible to be. each has their own advantages, Hades usually has 2 types of children, Poseidon usually only has 1 type, and Athena usually only has one type, now this doesn't include personalities or anything, just their primary skill/power.

All children of hades can shadow travel, just most monsters from the underworld. basicly they melt into the shadows and teleport to a different location. now this ability will tire them out extremely, and pretty much almost leave them running on empty, not to mention it's hard to control. In the original story the only son of hades, Nico De Angelo or something like that Idk if I got his full name right or not atm. but he had to train for some time before he could travel where he wanted to with shadow travel.

now the differences is, 1. They can call forth gems from the depths of the earth, and have good control of their surroundings underground. (wont get lost, can even forge their own paths some times) the 2nd would be the more practical, ability to call forth undead ghouls to assist them, and control pretty much any undead thing. Ghost, Ghoul, etc. . . though it isn't easy to control some things.

Children of Poseidon usually can breath underwater, have control of Water (when grown powerful enough over more types of liquids though is dangerous to do), has perfect baring at sea, can literally control a ship by themselves with a thought, can communicate to Fish and so on as well as horses.

Children of Athena are Good at strategy, they can come up with some crazy things, pretty much their the brains in every thing.

i'll post everything when ooc is made at some point.

Would I be allowed to make a character like Odysseus or Diomedes? No godly parentage, just the ability to see through Mist and sufficient application of luck and cunning.

They wouldn't be able to be go into the camp or anything, they probably wouldn't even have anything to do with the campers. there is 'mortals' as their called aka regular humans, who have ability to see through the mist but they don't tend to want anything to do with it. it is modern times as well. though I take it you have some experience in the books some when having talking about the 'Mist' which was a specific idea from the books. in real mythology nothing was hidden, but that would be to chaotic lol.

If you want a character that mainly just has good luck and cunning you could make a son/daughter of Hermes, they don't have any specific power or anything, they can be lucky at times, very cunning, and love to play pranks.. of course this isn't including them being able to steal very easily somehow lol.

Well then, I'm stuck between Poseidon and Hades, if the those are taken I'll just be a son of Athena. Either way, I'll make sure my skills includes amazing skill in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat xP.

When would the RP take place? Before Percy Jackson, After Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Alternate timeline?

^OP says it's years after.

^^Yup, read them all. Still need to get to Blood of Olympus one of these days, when the library actually has it in stock.

But while Hermes/Athena definitely work well for a fairly low-power main, they don't quite have the same feel, if that makes sense. Hmm... Could I do a Legacy? Maybe not super far descendant, but something early, like a kid of a demigod (or two) or some such. Just to beat the Camp Half-Blood filter.

Maybe I'll go for one of the more less used gods if Plan Legacy doesn't go through. Or maybe a powerless Big Three, gotta disappoint everyone and then redeem myself later. We'll see.

well it'll either be years later or maybe alternate time line, didn't think of that set, (shrugs) guess we'll see them happen. when it comes down to time of the roleplay, who knows maybe they'll run into the roman camp at some point lol, reason why I'm centering it on camp half-blood is because they are more layed back, enjoy yourself while you train etc... while the romans are ruthless and all that.

hm.. most greek half-bloods usually don't survive long enough to have descendants, romans do but that's because they retire after a certain age and live in their roman city lol.

hm.. well when it comes to doing a descendant line, or what ever you wish to call it, crazy things can happen because of that.. take Frank from Heroes of Olympus, his a decedent of Poseidon/Neptune (I forget which), while also being a current son of mars, which has given him a power that you don't normally see, the power of shape shifting. so that's the thing with descendant lines, they could end up having powers their ancestor never dreamed of having lol

hm... so idk about that, you'd have to give me some kind of example of what exactly you would plan on doing before I can really say sure or not.

hm.. as for a 'powerless big Three' that probably wont happen lol, all children of the big three usually has their powers spike when ever their emotions act up.. aka. If they get angry you'll tend to notice it around them lol. like a son/daughter of zeus will tend to cloud up the sky and it'll start to get stormy.. which also there is 2 types of children of zeus as well. One that can fly and summon lightning.. one that can just summon lightning lol, (it is more of their fears than anything I think). a son/daughter of hades will tend to give off a very death feel in the air... not including maybe the ground dieing around their feet... and as for son/daughter of Poseidon well the you can guess lol.

There can be multiple of the children of a specific god, i'm not going to limit anything like that, I will say some things for some children if I see any so they don't get wrong idea about their possible abilities.

Only 3 characters will get to go on one specific quest at a time, (camp rule.. normally more ends up dead), you could try to sneak out but it'll be very hard to do so, and could end up being fatal.

If I do make a Camper specific for me, then i'll probably make a son of Hephaestus because their the tech people pretty much, they can make anything, and learn how to make anything, not to mention use what they make lol. they are good with deadly traps and so on. i'll probably make mine one of the rare few that has power of fire. (like a 1% chance out of every hundred or thousand kids.. I forget what it says in the book), just to give him a slight edge to making things, not to mention surviving incredible blaze lol.

now I will say this, each Cabin will have a 'Councilor' one of the campers of each cabin is selected as such, another camper can gain this position by challenging the previous and winning. for those starting as a councilor for their cabin, it's pretty much first come first served during the character making progress, now this including positing for a reservation of the spot lol, if you post anything about wanting it before another player gets to it first then you have it.

Each councilor pretty much has more duties around camp than a regular camper, they are part of the 'war meetings' in the big house with Camp activities director Chiron the Centaur, and Camp Director Mr. D (you should know if you read, if not then you can guess, yes he is a god), not to mention some have to do the 'cabin checkup' where they check each cabin to see how clean it is, and the cabin with the best score gets scot free from any chores for a while, now this normally is never the Hermes, or Ares cabins, they are to messy always lol. The Hermes cabin likes to 'hide' their trash... it is usually found... and the ares cabin.. well you can guess.

hm.. so far got 4 people interested, i'll have the OOC up tomorrow, and we may get more, i'll post the rules and every bit of information there. (reason tomorrow because I got school tonight)

Trying to decide what I want; Skelly minions or Hydrokinesis......OH If I were a son of poseidon could I somehow freeze the water so I have cryokinesis? (which would be rare AF)

it's not a normal power of a son of Poseidon hm... then again in the books they never tried it, it might be possible but it would be harder to use then just controlling water so it might drain your character a lot more then using regular water, especially sea water.

True, but the good thing then would be purifying drinking water constantly. If I could use Cryokinesis whilst draining me more, I will indeed take it, but of course I have to note I have higher magical reserves than others to be able to perform such a feat, say Cryokinesis tires me out like say...Necromancy? I mean I'll probablly barely use Hydrokinesis, I love using Cryokinesis if I can't use Pyro.

eh Children of hades' necromancy doesn't drain them a lot, it's the same as a child of Poseidon controlling water, or a child of zeus summoning lightning. it's their basic skill so it's not as draining as special abilities.

Controlling Fresh water is harder then controlling salt water for sons of Poseidon, which controlling other liquids would be dangerous and could 'burn' them up if not careful sense it would take a lot of energy.

Trying to control more then they are able will either cause 1. them to 'burn' up from their power, or 2. just pass out if their lucky.. may sleep a few days.

The children of the big three do have more power reserves than the others, but that's also because they have the most abilities as well.

and of course pyro is Hephaestus children but only rare numbers which we have 5.. so still in range for me to make a character so a son of Hephaestus may show up lol.

Now summoning an entire army, without any help of an artifact will drain a child of hades, just like summoning a huge tidal wave would ware out a child of Poseidon. The longer they train the more they can do of course so one point they could do things they didn't think that could do.

Ah, fair enough. So my cryokinesis would be like a big tidal wave, would it not?
