Everyone has heard of werewolves. Their big, strong, and cool. People have heard of Shapeshifters that turn into cool things like lions, bears, or even snakes. What if you were cursed to change into something uncool? Like a flimingo, turtle(I don't mean the mutant ninja kind), or a goat? Worse what if wyou had little to no control when you transform? This is the story of those cursed to be the supernaturally uncool.

I dunno... I rp to be an escapist, not imagine my life is worse >u<
Well and for inspiration, but an entire cast of uncoolness means the entire cast is built up of supporting characters in what could only essentially be a comedy and "oh my life sucks" party. Maybe with some expansion...

Just because their not preditors doesn't mean that they can't do anything. The challenge is to take something you don't often see in the shapeshifter world like a flamingo and turn it into a desirable shapeshifter.

Yes I understood. I'm just saying its not a real desirable creative motivation.

I thought the challenge of making something undesirable desirable would be interesting. I mean everyone wants to be the shapeshifter that turns into a predator like a lion, wolf, eagle. But what about the creatures no one wants to change into? Could a turtle, flamingo, and squirrel have just as interesting adventures as the lion, wolf, and eagle?

I quite like this idea

A) You should not be comparing your rp's to your real life. Rping and reality are two different things.
B) not necessarily supporting characters, just because they are the undesired, does not mean they are not useful.
C) Who said anyone is going to be going "oh my life sucks" just because you have a toy, and the kid next to you has a slightly newer, slightly shinier new toy does not mean you throw your toy away and contemplate homicide to get the other toy. No, you play with your toy because your mom works overtime to earn the money to get you the toy which is so expensive you won't eat for a week.

Get your shit together man.

A. I don't compare my rp's to real life. RP's allow me to be someone else. Just like movies and vidoe games are for everyone. It's a basic psychological fact called "Suspension of disbelief." The event by which you suspend reality in order to feel more attuned with the character that you are controlling. When you are writing or playing or rooting for a character, you are suspending your disbelief, therefore seperating real life, and the world you have immersed yourself in.

B.The word "Supporting" implies that a character is being used for support of detail or character, or setting. Therefore implying also, use. The use of the term "Supporting Character" Implies a character who's role lacks any kind of heroic or antiheroic substance in a plot. Often these characters portray people who are very skilled in sub-classifications of society and often go above and beyond the normal limitations of their lesser skills to do something supportive to the main character. So yes. By definition, the characters suggested are going to be supporting characters.

C.Um... because it'd be unrealistic and shitty writing if they didnt? (Please excuse my french, I was going to use the word bad, but it didn't hold the right amount of weight)
The scenario, for instance, that you just suggested is EXTREMELY unrealistic. Because firstly when a child has a toy, and the child next to them has a far better toy they will always feel jealousy. That's human nature. And I never once so much as suggested jealousy as a topic. Because its natural. But let me tell you, if I randomly turned into a flamingo at random times throughout the day, I'd be pretty unhappy about it. Any other reaction would be unrealistic. Secondly, very few children contemplate homicide to get something they want... And thirdly, no mother works overtime for a week to get a toy and still doesnt manage to feed her damn kids. Women have priorities. Motherly instinct is pretty high among them.
D. You are born with a mother and have to love her and the things she does unconditionally. You get to choose your GM and can ditch them anytime you like.
E. Life happens. If your life sucks and theres nothing you can do about it, then youre stuck with it. You get to choose your roleplays and can ditch them if you dont like where it goes.
F.Constructive criticism is conducive to someone learning what can be done to make an idea better. You may have noticed I have actually expressed interest in the rp and was merely making suggestions. So please, cool the white knight syndrome.
G.Disdaining constructive criticism is bad for the writing community and fosters a lack of skill when another one of the main reasons people RP is to gain writing skill with their peers.
H. It is EXTREMELY disrespectful to tell someone you dont know anything about, "To get their shit together."
Thank you for your time. To be more clear, I might be interested in this with some expansion. I mentioned this in my first post, but I assume the context was missed. I think other people might express interest with more expansion.

I agree that the idea needs to be expanded on. Unfortanately I haven't come up with anything beyond the basic idea of the plot. If more inspiration and details come to me I will add them but I like to leave my plots somewhat vague. I think this allows the story to write itself and character growth.
