This is a one-on-one RP between PopeAlessandros and ShadowRaeper, not us, don't post. Also, M/M, don't like, don't read.


Base Premise:

~In the time of machines and space travel, magic has become all but a myth. Unfortunately for one young soldier he's about to find out that all those old myths carry quite the bite. During his survival training he finds a young man asleep in the woods. Separated from his unit and unsure what to do next, he decides to consult the young man, thinking he must live in the area. The youth indeed lives nearby, though further away than the soldier could ever imagine. The young man, lost and without his memories, will take them both on a ride they'll never forget.

So, do you wanna start with Plot or Setting?

Hmmmm.... Let's start with the setting, for with the correct setting we can create a better plot :)
I was thinking, because of the fact that it's with machines and space travel that it will be in the future :)
So... Perhaps the year 2831 or something in that dirrection?
Aswell... The earth would probably not be the only planet that the humans have inhabbited i think? So we could create multiple places and settings for these planets.
If that is fine with you ofcourse :)

But to get back to the setting itself.
Because it is in the future {in my mind then} I think the buildings should be high-tech, just as the clothes, weapons etc etc.
Roads are just a mere thing for the cars that only have wheels, as for mostly the cars would probably hover trough the air. Spaceships are logical with what they do, only they are stronger and better than the ones we have in our time, for ours only are spacestations :)
So I think for the spaceships we have to look towards Star Trek, or Star Wars, for they have mostly high tech spaceships :)

I don't really do dates, but feel free to slap any old one you want on there. I do my RPs on an Earth not Earth like setting as to avoid having to be realistic with history and geography. So sure, we can call it earth and use it as a base :P We can make other planets as we go along, but I'm figuring for less, shall we say, commercial space travel? As in, it's not open to everyone and colonists would mostly be a part of terra forming teams. I like the high tech idea with maybe some final fantasy like older stuff in it. Like, not all weapons have been replaced with lasers and beam cannons. Still have use of knives and swords and other some such.

I can go with high tech spaceships, but again, I'd like to avoid people taking their personal shuttle up into space. Military and government only. And since I haven't the foggiest if space will even factor in, I think we can leave it as space fairing but not uber amazing?

Also, as we think to the futur, I would like to submit that, because there is terra forming, that the world is not over populated, there are still forests and mountains and trees and animals. In other words, while you can circle the globe in an hour on a bullet train, you can't see the next city over simply by standing at the edge of one and looking towards it. Too high tech and the magical community would have been discovered long ago. :P Also I'm thinking that we can to a slightly phase shift of reality for them rather than making them all just "In hiding" if that makes any sense.

I think the training camp would be in the middle of nowhere, or at lease at close as one can get, near the forest where my guy is found. Maybe a small encampment, only his training class there? I like the thin, grassy woods type area, and my guy can be hidden from sight by some thick bushes or something about a mile from camp. . . .*Rambles on*

Hmmmmm.....

Yeah the idea of having the space travel only for the government and military is fine with me :)
The terra forming also sounds sweet ^^ That way the earth would indeed be populated by animals and a low population of humans :)
As for how you replaced my idea for high tech weapons, with weapons from FF, that's totally fine with me :) That way we keep it balanced ;) And perhaps only the higher ranked in the military would be allowed to truelly use high-tech weapons?
Leaving the space just like how we know it for now, is fine with me ;) Perhaps later on in the RP indeed that they would go further away from their planet.
It would be smart to place it somewhere near the woods, or perhaps within the woods, top secret from the outside world, perhaps a team trained for some dangerous task. Just an idea, for then the training ground would be secret and it would be better for my character to get lost then, perhaps in one of the training sessions, when they have to hide from their commander...

I like the idea of having to "Earn" the high tech weapons, let's go with that!

Oh, so you want yer guy all special forces training. I can roll with that :P Also, I like the idea of what is essentially a high stakes game of hide-and-seek. Heheh. On the edge of the woods works for me. You know the kinda woods I'm talking about, right? Like dis -

What kind of magician would you create? One in training aswell? Or perhaps one that has already been trained a bit but still has to learn?

As for the magicians, i've been thinking...
You said that it would be best if they were hiding in plain sight, which is fine with me ofcourse ^^
But still... They have to get a place where they can do their hocus pocus xD Sorry just liked that word ^^
So what if they have a secret base *Sorry Harry Potter image in my head about this one xD* And like in the movie of harry potter, they can summon/create/etc etc a building/portal/whatever to their secret hide-out, where they can practice their magic, life with magical beings and stuff like that?
Just an idea though ^^ For we already have the militairy side :) So thought... Let's focus on the magical side now :)

Yays for woods :P As for my Mage. . . .He will tell me when I meet him :P I'm still very vague on him as I am trying to wait to meet him until we're done here with everything else. It's not just magicians, it's an entire magical community, and less HP and more. . .Think of it like, where we see the woods may be a small village for those of the magical persuasion. You need to learn the right spell to shift into the "Human's" reality, or find a crack in the wall between dimensions. I see the magical community not being all that big, about numbering at about 40% of the grand total of humans on the planet(For every 100 humans, there are 40 magical beings in the slip dimension). I can see some magical places being in the human dimension, but not many, and I also see some magicals, like Mages and other humanoid races passing into the human dimension regularly to check on them or get something only the human dimension has. I see the mages learning from masters and the land itself. No Avada Kadavra :P

Well the fun fact is that you just summed up everything that I had in mind for the magicians themselves xD
So I don't really have anything to add up to it :/
Because I had the exact same idea about them :) That's why I said the thing about the secret base, only then with your idea of multiple dimensions, that sounds quite better ^^
But I think that making it a 4/10 is a bit big... Because the magicians are a race that is about to die, so perhaps it's more suitable with a 2/10?
That with every 100 humans, there are 20 magicians within them. That way the magicians truelly are a dying race, instead of still having quite a big population among the humans themselves :)

The 4/10 is ALL magical races, not just magicians. The magicians are only about 1/2 of 1% of all the magical races. While the most prolific, they are not the only magical species. And since only a few magicians rally have any interest in interacting with humans, there are only a few in the human realm at any given moment. Make sense?

So... Then we have the cities...
I was thinking that, because there aren't many, that most would be overpopulated. In my mind, that makes a bit sense, for they have to life somewhere xD
Perhaps certain regions inside the cities are for the rich, and there are those who are for the poor.
The poor ofcourse then have houses made from perhaps scrapmetal and the rich ones are created from high advanced tech?
If you have other thoughts about this let me know ofcourse :)

Yeah, moderate to overly populated, depending on which city one is in, and perhaps even some smaller cities here and there full of people who don't like all the tech :P Hnnnn. . . .Segregated(kinda) rich and poor could add some interesting dramas, depending on where your character falls on the scale *Grin* Sounds good to me. No matter where your guy falls on the scale I can see quite a few interesting dramas that can be added to the tale.

Hmmm, I think we should have one of the techs be something that makes sure even the poor parts of the cities stay relatively clean, and something that efficiently gets rid of all garbage. Super recycling and stuff, so we're not dealing with a Wall-e type issue too :p . . . .I gotta stop now or I'll go on a really long in depth rant that we may find we don't even keep later so, yeah :P

I think we got some good ideas on the setting. . . How about a couple plot ideas before moving on to characters? Just some things we think would be fun to play out, nothing too in depth :P

Hmmmmmm yeah perhaps some cleaning bots that keep the streets clean ^^ :P Like Wall-E but then they get rid of the carbage xD Instead of piling it up :)

Some plots... Well at first he wouldn't know your char is a magician, so thats already a plot xD
Secondly, perhaps my char can keep it a secret what kind of soldier he is? So that we can create a plot there to.
Perhaps they become great friends, and they have to decide what side they are on. If a all-scale war truelly breaks out.
Keeping cities save from beasts that roam the woods? Also a good thing to do :)
And for the rest... I mostly go with the flow xD For sometimes i create a plot, but then suddenly I gain a greater plot inside my mind ^^

I think for now those are some good idea points to explore and expand upon when/if they come up. For now I guess just keeping the story flowing on from the point where my guy is discovered until we need something more interesting would be good. I think it would be funny for my guy to run around causing your guy some trouble, maybe pulling off some magic that, say, turns all his companions into chickens for an hour would be too funny :P I keep seeing these "Oops! Magic. . ." moments that would be interesting to play out :P

General Personality:

Jacé's rather lax, even during life and death situation. It almost looks like he's lazy, though he only comes off that way because he acts calm during times like that, in order to do his job perfectly. A sharpshooter does need a steady arm, huh? He's kind and easy to talk to, not acting cold to anyone who doesn't treat him poorly or who hasn't given a bad first impression. He trusts too easily, which is probably his fatal flaw. The one thing that he stands out with is his intellect. While he might not be great at memorizing, he's an amazing quick-learner and his analytical ability and quick wit are surpassed by few people if any. This tends to annoy people who decide to take up his challenge and play chess with the boy.

Background:

Jacé never knew his family, instead he grew up in an orphanage. Although he had multiple "brothers and sisters", he never felt at home so was mostly in the forest surrounding the orphanage, which meant he always weant behind the walls. Once he gained the age of 10, Jacé somehow gained an interest in the bow, although they were poor, Jacé found a way to gain his new found boy by creating it himself. It was a poor one, but it was perfect in his eyes.
Trough the years, Jacé became skillfull with the bow, and practiced each day inside the forest, tracking all kinds of animals, but as all good things come, so do the bad ones. Jacé was caught by one of the guards that guarded the perimeter, and without hesitation Jacé shot an arrow trough the gap of the helmet and chestplate. Although most would die for this kind of crime, Jacé was send to the army.
This was where Jacé learned the rest he knew, from the age of 15 he was enrolled into the army to serve, he was trained in hand-to-hand combat, and as he progressed and learned to use different aspects of his body, they had to choose what kind of weapons they would use. To serve this land and keep the peace. Although most choose weapons with a long range, Jacé choose the simple way of the blade, the dagger to be precise. With that, Jacé learned to use these lethal, close-ranged weapons. And ever since, he got enlisted into a special team, not to detain order, but for something quite else....

. . .This is earth not earth, suns naturally do that to humans wearing leather. Leather is a material that does not breath and causes chafing, and since it's all black, he would sweat like a pig. Simply biological fact, but don't worry, a lot of people think leather can be worn without consequence. You're not the only one :P
