Jaya laughed at Nikko's comment about people thinking they were crazy for living in the cold as they were. She looked at him and grinned, "Some people think we are crazy for practically living on mountains that ooze lava now and again. The rest just think we are crazy."

She put her hands over her nose that seemed like it had joined the icebergs and frozen. When Nikko mentioned almost being there, she leaned forward and saw the walls. She smiled and rubbed Senge's shoulder, "I bet you've never been this far South either, hey boy?"

The armadillo lion looked over at the two of them and huffed, a cloud of warm air spun out of his nose and mingled with the cold air. She laughed and stood walking to the front of the boat. It was colder here with the winds but she wanted to see everything that the Southern Water Tribe had to offer. She looked back at Nikko, "So, you've never been here?"

Nikko continued to smile at Jaya's remark, and nodded in agreement. The earth kingdom really did have it easy. Yeah, they had the desert, but it was mostly uninhabited, with the exception of an oasis he heard about. Their entire civilization didn't exist in the roughest part of the country like the other Nation's mainly did. He looked over at Senge to see him huff, and laughed along with Jaya. He then looked at his friend and shook his head. "I haven't." He told her. "I've never been this far south. When I was with the nomads, we kinda went all over the place, slowly making our way south, but it was only recently that I've actually been heading south. Nobody I knew went down to my sister tribe, other than Mater Paku. I've spoken with him a few times, but I doubt that he'd remember me. The Northern tribe is a big place, and with all of the traveling, and moving down here, he's bound to have forgotten a few people here and there."

Jaya looked over her shoulder and gave him a look, "Don't go selling yourself short like that. I'm sure he remembers you.... Master Paku.... So he taught you Water bending?"

She smiled at the thought of a little Nikko bundled up in blue learning to water bend for the first time. She felt like he'd be the type of kid who would be so excited when he found out about his bending. Why not? Bending was a blessing that not everyone got and water wasn't that scary. She remembered her parents being terrified of any temper tantrums when she had yet learned control. Even now her emotions got out of hand once and again. Both her parents were nonbenders as well... Which probably made it all the scarier.

She looked ahead at the wall that was getting closer and closer, "Stop one... Warm blue clothes," She said with a grin.

Nikko laughed nervously and shrugged before shrugging his head. "Kind of. He gave me a few lessons, but stopped teaching me because he thought I couldn't be taught the proper style." He looked down at the water. "My mom had to go out and find scrolls of an old style, and she learned from the scrolls and taught me. That's why I have the weird style where my arms are way out when I fight." He explained to her. Paku had said some harsh words to him the last time they had met, and he doubted that the master of the the Nothern, now Southern Tribe would remember someone like him from so many years ago.

The style he always used was an old style, one that his mother found from a merchant. He was lucky it existed, as he would have not been able to waterbend properly if he hadn't.

He then nodded at Jaya. "Yeah. It shouldn't he hard at all to find warm clothes."

Jaya looked at him as he explained his time with Master Paku and pursed her lips. Sure the Fire Bending Masters were hard on their students but they never gave up on them. She wasn't strong with Fire Bending because she struggled to put her anger into it as she grew to control her anger more. However, her teachers sought other ways and places for her to find that power. Though some saw her as lesser, she had a teacher who believed in her and helped her master her element. She smirked at Nikko, "I hate him already."

She smiled when he mentioned that they would easily find some warm clothes for her. She leaned against the railing as they came into the dock. She grabbed his hand and ran off the boat, Senge following behind clearly happy to be getting off the boat.

Nikko gave Jaya a half smile. Master Paku had tried, and failed at being Nikkos master. The old man couldn't find a way to teach Nikko the proper style, and it really wasn't his fault. Nikko believed it to be his own fault that he couldn't be taught, and not Paku's fault for not teaching him. "You should really." Nikko told her.

As they reached the dock, the young water bender wasn't expecting Jaya to grab a hold of his hand and drag him onto the dock. As she did it, he let out a surprised yelp, and smiled at Senge, who seemed to be overjoyed at reaching land. The Armadillo Lion the dug its head into the ground, feeling the new substance he didn't seem to be familiar with.

Jaya laughed as Senge stuck his head into the snow and released Nikko's hand, "Senge! What are you doing acting like an ostrich horse?" She teased before taking off her gloves and picking up some snow. She held it in her hands and looked at Nikko, "It is a lot colder than I was expecting... But... I guess that is why it is so cold down here."

Her hands let out a small burst of flames, melting the snow and drying her hands before she stuffed them back into her gloves.

"A firebender," She heard and quickly looked at a woman who was dressed in all blue. The woman smiled at her, "Not to worry... I had a very good friend who was a fire bender... I'm Katara."

She shook friends with the woman before she realized the weight behind the name, "Wait.... The Katara?"

The woman laughed, "I suppose... Those clothes hardly look warm enough to be down here. Come on, we'll get you something a little warmer," She looked at Nikko and nodded her head, "Now what are your names?" Katara asked as she lead them down the street a little before slipping into a snow hut.

Jaya looked over her shoulder at Nikko, wide eyed, "I'm Jaya."

Senge wasn't used to the feeling of snow, and picked his head out of the snow once Jaya teased him.

Nikko nodded. "Yeah. It stays this cold all the time, and can easily get colder." He told him friend, who burned the snow in her hands with a small burst of flames. Nikko's head quickly turned into the direction of where the voice was and didn't place the voice and appearance until he heard the name. he was rather still in shock. He followed Katara and Jaya into one of the snow huts and looked at Jaya when she looked at him.

"I'm Nikko." He told the fellow waterbender. He didn't know what to say to someone as imortant as she was. He had heard that she was the one who discovered Aang in the iceberg. "So you're really Katara? The one who helped Avatar Aang beat Ozai?"

Katara smiled at them as she pulled out some blue clothing and handed them to Jaya, "You can change into these behind there," she said as she pointed to a blanket that hung like a wall in the small room.

Jaya nodded and disappeared behind it as Katara looked at Nikko. She nodded, "That I am. I figured I should come back to the Southern Water Tribe and help rebuild it while Aang is off making his own city."

She smiled and looked Nikko over, "I suppose you are from the Northern Water Tribe. Considering I haven't seen you before."

Jaya stepped out back into view bundled up in blue. She pulled her hood over her head and smiled, "This is really soft!"

When Jaya disappeared, Nikko looked at Katara and listened with interest. It was cool that Aang was making his own city, and maybe Nikko would be able to see it when it was finished. He then nodded at her observation and looked down at his clothing breifly before looking back at her. "Yeah, I'm from the Northern Water Tribe. I left some time before you, your brother, and Aang came to the North."

Seeing Jaya, Nikko smiled and nodded. "And warm too, right?"

Jaya grinned and nodded, "Far warmer than the Earth Kingdom stuff," She said as she stuffed her things into her bag.

Katara smiled at the girl, "You look like you belong here," She looked between them, "I probably don't have to say it but... Not everyone here has dealt with people from the Fire Nation like I have. A lot of people make snap judgments so... just be careful. It is good to see that you two aren't paying much attention to that though."

Jaya looked at Nikko and gave him a soft smile as Katara spoke. The Waterbender walked over to the entrance of the building, "I should get going though... Enjoy your time in the Southern Water Tribe and... be careful."

Nikko felt Jaya's eyes on him and looked around, stopping at Jaya and looking at her for a moment before returning his gaze to Katara. He nodded at the comment of not paying attention to snapping to judgements. He wondered if Katara thought the same way he did once her journey around the world again, knowing that not all people of the Fire Nation were inherently evil or bad.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Nikko took a few quick steps over to Katara. "Hold on!" He told her. "Is your brother Sokka around? It was really nice to see you, and I'm curious as to what the others of your group are doing, if you don't mind."

Katara stopped when Nikko called to her and smiled, "I don't mind. Sokka is around... He's been helping me but runs off to go help Aang now and again. The city that Aang is building is going to house everyone from every nation," She looked between them, "I think Aang would have liked to meet the two of you," She grinned, "As for the rest... Well," She looked at Jaya, "I'm sure you know that Zuko... Sorry, Fire Lord Zuko is now... well... The Fire Lord... and Toph has been running a metal bending school to teach people about her knew bending...... What else is there?"

Jaya smiled and pulled her blue clothing closer around her, "A city for all four nations? That sounds.... like paradise...."

Nikko only knew about Team Avatar saving the world and stopping the Fire Lord at the time, so he was slightly amazed to hear about what the others had been doing. As Jaya had say, a city for all four Nations sounded like a paradise. A place for everyone to be together, regardless of where they came from or what bending they had. He only hoped that the city would be a success, and would not became another battlefield.

"Well, thanks for your time." Nikko said to Katara. "I'm sure that you have other things to do than to show two people around. Thanks for the hospitality!"

Jaya waved goodbye to Katara as she left them for, most likely, more important business. She then turned to Nikko and smiled before she walked out into the cold. It was still quite cold even with the new warmer clothing. She wrapped her arms around herself but was sure that she would get far more used to this than she would have in the Earth Kingdom clothes. She swung her arms down and let them swing as they went on their way, weaving through people and building, "Where do you want to start?" She asked with a big grin.

Nikko smiled back at Jaya as she went out into the cold The waterbender followed her and looked around, now really getting a good look at the tribe that was more like a city. While he was look around, he still stayed with Jaya as to not lose her. When she asked him what they wanted to do first, he shrugged and looked around once more. "I don't know. We should probably go and find Senge, though. Poor guy is probably worried about us in such a strange place for him." He suggested to her.
