-This RP is Rated PG-13, however swear as much as you like, just do it with purpose. Also if Adult things seem like their going to happen, Cut to black and if you want, continue in PMs please (Its for the Childrenzs!)
-Mine and RyuShura's word is absolute, if we ask you to change something, please don't argue the matter. Especially if it comes to Balancing.
-While yes some of the characters can be rude and snobby, please be kind to other RPers. If you have a problem with another, settle it on your own time in PMs.
-No God Moding, though for the most part we will be facing enemies that are stronger than our own.
-Unless given Permission, please do not move or talk for another Person's character.
-You are allowed two characters but I'd prefer if they generally have nothing to do with each other and they're different races
***BIGGEST RULE***
-Have fun! RP is for fun, don't forget that
Planet Name: ArionLocation: Antaeus System Oathsworn City:
Center of Oathsworn:
Outer Ring (Typically the poor side, but this place holds a lot of government facilities and factories)
Military Bases (This is one of many, however they will mostly look like this)
Loading Docks Section
Central City (Although not at the center, it has the most dense population and one of the bigger secret military bases)
Inner City Slums (Most outcast and banished live here)
Apartment Section (Most middle class citizens live in places like this with their families)
Military Section (Most soldiers spend the majority of their time training in this section)
Older Slums (these are located much farther out, in uncharted areas)
The Great Wall (This Divides us from the Lel'Loni's "paradise")
"Paradise"
Oathsworn is one enormous city with hundreds of sections and cities, but as a whole is called Oathsworn city. It is a continent city and throughout the city are super highways, back roads and in the richer area's teleporter stations to get you from place to place. For the most part, our story will be starting from the center of Oathsworn City and go from there. There is also an Enormous wall that goes from the north to the south poles of the planet that separates the Oathsworn side and the Lel'Loni's side. For the most part there is one gigantic continent known as "Arion" hince the planet name, and is dotted by numerous islands in it's ocean. However both races refuse to venture out into the deep abyss that is their ocean. Arion is split into two sides like stated before, Oathsworn is home to four main races and hundreds of minority races that are too small to count. However on the Lel'Loni side there are only Lel'Loni and the human born children who slave in their armies and are used as meat shields in their wars.
In the year 2116, we left our dying planet and searched the galaxy for somewhere to call "home" once again. We found a total number of six different planets within our reach, and embarked on a journey to colonize them. It seemed we did not learn our lesson the first time around; and one by one, we lived on these planets for a period of a few decades each before draining them too of their resources and moving on to the next.
When we reached the final planet, a grim reality sunk into our minds. There was nowhere else to go after we too use all of the resources here. This would be our final resting ground, and a conflict arose in how we should distribute our precious resources. In our selfishness, we battled amongst ourselves. We were on the verge of killing ourselves off until we were contacted by a race that seemed thousands of years more advanced than we were.
They called themselves the "Lei'loni."
They told us of another planet, one that was 5 times bigger than the planet we called Jupiter in the old solar system. On it were the resources needed to sustain our race for another whole millenia. What surprised us was that the place they suggested we colonize to was their very own planet.
It was then explained, that since they were more "machine than flesh", they would not require as much of the planet's resources as we did. As a display of generosity, they had been gathering races on the brink of extinction and offering them too "second chances." This meant that we would be sharing planet with these other races.
As with all the others, they offered this "second chance" only if we would accept a few conditions. As per to these terms, they would allow us to live among the other races on one half of their planet, but in return, we would give half of everything we owned at the end of each year as a "tithe." And by half of everything we owned, they also meant we'd be giving them our offspring. These terms were harsh, but judging by our grim state, there wasn't really much of a question whether we should or not.
The only problem remaining was that it was located millions of light-years across the galaxy, way too far for our ships or bodies are able to trek. Even if we were to leave that very day, our resources would have been exhausted in only a quarter of the time it would take. They had foreseen this fact, the Lei'Loni having already sent a convoy to retrieve us. It seemed they had no doubt we would refuse their offer. In a few days they arrived, showing our dark night skies with lights that shadowed the stars. We couldn't believe our eyes, the massive gleaming fleet that hovered above, and the heavenly beings that came down to welcome us.
The year was 2237 when we finalized the exchange that would hand to our death-bound race the gift of "life", and embark on their ships to a place where we could call "home."
It has been half a century since that time, and only now, these many years later, did we realize that we, and the other races, had agreed to become slaves.
Economic Situation-Humans and their Genetically modified brothers and sisters have a government such as one in America and then the Lel'Loni's are more so dictative.
-On the Oathsworn side all types of races live side by side and except each other. There are five levels of social classes within our side of the planet. The politicians rule at the top, nothing can touch them except for the home race, they have absolute control to a point on certain things and cannot be jailed or accused of crime unless a vote is taken and that politician is deemed guilty.
The next social class rivals that of the politicians power, this class is made up of "CEOs" and others that have a great sum of money. These people are really in control of a big portion of the population not in the social class above and adjacent to the rich class. This class controls most if not all the money that flows with in the cities, they are the ones that by just a snap of the finger, easily make life a living hell. This class is manly home race ruled, only a number of humans actually are in this class.
The next class is the middle class, these people are your normal 7 am to 6 pm workers who have the task of working things such as working the factories, or working desk jobs, these guys are the nurses and moderate income citizens (Note, there is no middle ground, you are either middle class or in the Rich class).
The next class is the poor class, these people are almost on the brim of poverty but hold on, working any job that comes towards them. This class is primarily made up of the other races and home race citizens banished from the "the other side" that humans and other races are not allowed to cross unless asked. These people can be found living on the streets, or the slums of the human sides cities.
There is one last race, but most are actually not even aware it exist. Living along side all the other classes, no one knows they are different from regular humans, but this class is the class that is ENTIRELY made up of the genetically modified humans who were made to be better than humans in EVERY way. Because of this fact, these "humans" were forced into slavery to the first two classes. These "humans" are usually found to be working as private "Agents" more or less for the first two groups. Not even the home race is aware of their existence. This class is full of killers and assassins working for the government to "better" the human's side but these humans are responsible for the deaths of hundred of revolutionists and rebels who are completely against the thought of working for the home race.
-The home races side is much different to say the least. There is no government, no classes, there is no way of life for the home race. Each citizen is born to do a certain task, their life serves no purpose other then serve Re'Kelzan
The "president" of the home race. He is nothing sort of the overlord/dictator/I will kill you or banish you if you don't obey me. What he says go for the rest of the population living on his side. However, this side is said to be incredibly efficient, like a well oiled machine almost. Nothing is out of line and every citizen in their free time lives to the equivalent to that as the rich side on the human side. It would appear to anyone outside of the home race side to be a haven, a paradise.
TechnologyAt the time of our first voyage into space, our methods of traveling across this void was very primitive, merely one that relied on the basic principles of propulsion.
Our small fleet of ships utilized solar-based energy in order to fuel the thrusters that pushed these massive metallic shuttles. It wasn't really well-developed (In comparison to the other space-faring races.) and in the time it took for us to relocate onto another planets, many generations were already born and raised upon these massive hulking ships.
Our development of technology was rather stagnant considering our only concern was our immediate need for survival; however, upon accepting the contract of New Terra, we were taught science that jumped our technology ahead by hundreds of years. This was the method of "Warp Travel", along with the introduction of Cryosleep Technology that would put our bodies in stasis so that we wouldn't age during our voyages.
---"Energy Cores"
Most energy based technology is developed around a "Core" that harnesses power from colored crystals found on multiple uninhabitable planets located in a massive cluster near the center of the Galaxy.
This area of space is commonly known as the "Spectrum."
Extraction of these crystals are very dangerous, and require specialized minings teams and equipment. Because of this, they are very valuable and even a small container of raw crystals is enough to take anyone from poverty immediately into the higher classes of society. These power sources are at the center of every piece of advanced technology and can can last for millions of years.Since these cores generate a massive amount of heat, they are encased in very durable metal and complex cooling systems that prevent them from overheating and essentially blowing up. Their users must be trained in how to maintain these functions, or at least have someone nearby that can.
---"Core-Based Weaponry, a.k.a. Laser and Plasma"
These weapons are commonly seen as the most advanced of all the other types, utilizing Energy Cores to output powerful blasts, or concentrated beams at devastating effects. Their use is very diverse, from batteries that cast a personal energy shield to deflect projectiles, to small hand-sized devices that generate blades able to cut through nearly anything. Most shocking of all, are the "Purging" super-weapons that have the capacity to wipe out entire planets in a single shot. Due to their sheer power, cost to manufacture, rarity, and the complexities of the Energy Core technology, they are reserved only for the Wealthy and the members of the... Indigenous Race.
---"Solid Projectile Weaponry", also simply known as "Guns"
Standard solid projectile weaponry is still widely accessible due to its vast abundance and the fact that it is very cheap to produce in mass. Their relatively simple modes of use and easily reparable components makes these kinds of weapons popular among the lower-class races of the galaxy. However, as a consequence to the primitive nature of these weapons, they would only prove effective if not faced against technology considered more advanced, like that of plasma and laser.
---"Reso'nan"
Not all metal or solid weaponry is weaker than that of the more advanced counterparts.
In search for a weapon that gives their assassins and agents a silent alternative during a mission, the Lei'Loni developed a synthetic metal that is resistant to all forms of heat, able to absorb and deflect laser and plasma.
This mythic metal is called "Reso'nan."
The production of this metal requires a immensely complex process of forging that takes a centuries worth of curing and hardening to complete. With the considerable rarity of this metal, they are viewed as artifacts that only those who are viewed as nobles may possess. As time passed on, a more crude version was allowed to be distributed to the other races, but because of the impure metal they create a ringing noise when swung.
RacesHuman:
This race is the one of the most numerous among those of the star-faring races, having multiplied their already vast population in such a short span. Due to their only recent advancement to Warp-Drive technology, they are one of the most inexperienced with the culture and have almost no standings among the other races. They are very basic in comparison to many other races, and offer no real strengths nor weakness at all. However they are the most technologically advanced in weapons, only under that of the Lel'Loni.
"The Forgotten":
Humans that are tithed, and genetically modified to be "better" in every way but this race lacks certain personality traits. (I.E: Cant love, cant find happiness, the more extreme cases could be that they have emotion but cannot display them so they are extremely flat toned and straight faced most of the time)
Arthos:
Another recently discovered race composed of insectoids, while mainly primitive, they are considered a massive threat due to their relatively rapid evolution. They, along with the humans, share having the most members of the races.Contrary to popular belief, they are very cunning and intelligent; however, what truly sets them apart from other races is their special form of reproduction that allows them to gradually assimilate useful genes from consuming organic bio-mass at birth.
They are mostly very large, hulking forms that stand a little over 8 ft in height. Their average life span is relatively short, that of only a short century. Their jagged mouths don't allow for words used in our communication, but through a subtle telepathy established from "learning" from a member of the specified race, they have adapted to speak to us in our languages. They are viewed with disgust among the other space-faring races, but nonetheless, are given respect out of their useful nature as very effective mercenaries.
Dolorian:
A plant race consisting of "gentle" creatures with a massive attitude. These beings were said to live freely on New Terra, but were forced slowly onto the human side of the planet. Re'Kelzan had deemed them too free thinking and so they were "asked" to leave and go on the "filths" side. Dolorians range in appearance but for the most part retain a humanoid shape. Dolorians come with a number of pros, one being they can reproduce asexually. They tend to grow extremely fast as well and when near or around water based substances, they grow in strength and size. Dolorians are also "immortal" so to speak, as they cannot die of age unless killed. When a Dolorian takes near fatal damage, they release millions of pollens that will allow them to enter a stage of rebirth. As long as there is a source of water nearby, they will begin to regrow, this process is painfully slow and takes days to grow back into a child size form again. WIth the pros however comes their cons, they are extremely vulnerable to fire on their own. On top of this, dry or water barren areas make them much weaker, to the point that they reduce into a "power saving" mode so to speak. In this form they are reduced to the size of a human 8 year old and are incredibly slow.
Lei'Loni:
Having stripped away their flesh long ago to overcome the weakness of flesh, the members of the Lei'Loni are "born" with a body mostly composed of machine. The only thing that still resembled an organ are their brains, which are modified to be equal of that to a computer, able to calculate complex processes and allow the Lei'Loni to retain vast amounts of information even with a mere glance. They are genderless, but most state a more masculine or feminine personality.
Placed within the body of each member of this race is a powerful energy core called the "Aa'Rum" that is said to last forever. Because of the rarity of the material used for such a core, the population of this race is rather low.
With this "Immortality" they view themselves as Gods among those of the lesser races.
(Basic Example of what they look like)
This race is divided into three groups and two different mindsets.
You have the Royalty of the Lei'Loni called the Yol'Mudi. The Yol'Mudi are the most humanoid looking out of the races, this group is extremely controlling and are the most hateful of all three groups. They are extremist who think the galaxy should be theirs, however they are not stupid and understand that making an enemy out of the other empires in the galaxy is foolish. This group is the strongest mentally wise, though their strength rivals that of some of the strongest races of the galaxy.
(Ex of what they look like:)
The next group are the Mon'Daar, this is the middle class of the Lei'Loni. The Mon'Daar are mixed in size, though most consist of much bigger beings, rivaling the size of some Arthos. This group is the ones that are the workers of the "hive" they are extremely simple minded and follow orders given by higher ranking Lei'Loni without question. They are given a task to do each day like a worker bee and once done go back to their living quarters.
They are physically the strongest of the three groups and extremely durable. Killing a Mon'Daar is arguably one of the hardest thing to do.
( Example of what they look like:)
The last class is of the ones who are born to be the race's warriors, the Tol'Shul. They are the vanguard that oversees and ensures that all operations run smoothly for the Lei'Loni. While not exactly "simple-minded", they are only versed in combat and military strategy, drilled harshly for years until they are the fitting "elite" that police the planet.
Lei'Loni are already feared as being one of the most dangerous beings to cross in the galaxy, but there is nothing more terrifying than being targeted by a Tol'Shul.
They will get results. Regarded as being the "perfect warriors", they have sleek bodies that greatly resemble the royal Yol'Mudi they are assigned to protect while also containing the strength and durability of the middle class, Mon'Daar.
(Example Appearance:)
Lastly,
There are always those "glitches" one that are born with a screw loose, figuratively and literally speaking, who do not follow the mindset of their whole are known as the Kof'Yurr, banished to the other side of the planet to live among the Lower Races.
Name: This one is pretty obvious.
Age: Keep it reasonable for the race please. (Human 1-100, Forgotten 1-200, Dolorian 1-500, Arthos 1-80, Lel'Loni 1-1000s)
Height/Weight: Basic, it can be in Metric as well if you want
Occupation: You can be a Merc, a low ranking soldier, an assassin, a cook, a merchant, etc.(Keep in mind that if you pick things such as a cook, have the character fit that occupation. Meaning if you're a cook, you shouldn't be a top tier sniper, UNLESS heavily justified.)
Gender: Self explanatory, you can be a girl, a guy, a he-she, a she-he, an non-gender.
Race: Human, Lel'Loni, Forgotten, Arthos, or Dolorian.
Physical Description: Picture or Written Description, Minimum of one paragraph. (Picture&Written Prefered however)
Personality: This section is pretty easy, however certain races have a personality trait that they must have. The Forgotten lack certain emotions, the emotions they're missing can vary. They might not be able to show love, or happiness. Anger or sorrow. You can have all emotions as a Forgotten, however you are unable to show them. You can feel sorrow or happiness, but you cannot convey it. The other race that has a personality requirement are the Lel'Loni. Lel'Loni are typically extremely loyal, on top of this they tend to be a bit snobby at the beginning, BUT can change as the story goes on. The other races are fair game otherwise.
Quirks/Habits: This means things that make them tick, like maybe a morning routine. Or thing they tend to do, I.E say a prayer before going into battle or on a mission. These can also mean things such as always smoking because they're on edge, or always moving their hair out of their face, stuff like that.
Skills: Each character SHOULD have a number of skills that pertain to what their character is focused on. Depending on who and what your character is, the odds that you are a Dolorian and able to freerun is pretty low. Have these skills match your character please. (Don't over do it here either, you shouldn't have every skill under the sun)
Abilities(This includes weapons): Your characters abilities all depend on your race.
***NOTE***
-Weapons and equipment in this RP are your life source, so we will be extremely lenient to the items you choose to start with. However there are some rules with these guns, Unless you are a Human or Forgotten you will not be able to start off with a plasma based gun. You are free to use futuristic styled gun pictures (Prefered actually, STRONGLY prefered) if you choose to make up a gun with it's own set of tricks and attachments. Please keep away from extremely OP guns (this does not include things like a sniper, though if you are a sniper your skills and character should match that of a sniper). For power suits and armor, these can come with a set of abilities, however we will look through to see if something is broken or not, if we ask you to change something to balance it a bit more, please don't argue. Remember, you will earn upgrades or new guns and armor as the RP goes on. So if we tell you to change something, it's not the end of the world.
*Humans- Humans are typically more liable to rely on guns. They also will start most likely have some type of gear set up. I.E a power suit so that they don't get steamrolled by the other races or a set of guns that are highly portable and can be with them at all times.
*Forgotten- Forgotten are able to have one ability that trumps all its others. This means for instance, if it has super strength, then it's speed with be faster then that of a humans, but not overly fast. And Vice Versa. Forgotten should be able to fight a Lel'Loni one on one and not die, but they will usually lack an overwhelming amount of speed or and overwhelming amount of strength. Forgotten are allowed to plasma based guns, guns or some type of armor to start out with. As the story goes on, they will earn more weapons (You can choose this, however it will have to be cleared by Gm or Co-Gm)
*Lel'Loni- This is advanced race alien that granted all the others this "second chance" to live on their planet. They are the ruling class, and the ones that hold absolute order. Naturally the ones playing "God" will have the strength to back it up.
Since they have access to the most advanced type of weaponry and the fact that their bodies are mostly robotic in composition, their abilities can vary greatly and are highly adaptable, but require being programmed and armed first. The only downside are the complex "Aa'Rum" cores that serve as the lifeline of each Lei'Loni also power their weapons. Thus, as a safety mechanism, once reaching a point where the core cannot sustain both weapon and body, it will shift priority energy towards the core and "lock" any abilities until recharged.
Their abilities and armament are largely locked down to what kind of "body" they have and their rank among their people. Since their Though do no discredit a lowly "peasant" Lei'Loni, as even the weakest are well faster and stronger compared to the other races. Because this class is basically the strongest race, you are allowed two abilities to start off with. As the RP goes on you will earn more. We would also like you to pick strength or speed to start with, and have the other slowly get better as the RP continues. (Also must be cleared by a GM/ Co-GM)
*Athros- Athros are an extremely complex race, they are able to have abilities like that of the bug they stem from. This means Arthos are capable of flight without certain types of armor. They also would be able to have super strength, depending on the bug. Or be able to have incredible reflexes and speed. This race relies on the type of bug group they fall in (You can choose the category of bug and have it fit with that category as long as it's not extremely overpowered). Arthos start off with a gun of their choice or melee weapon.
*Dolorian- Dolorian's are extremely durable when it comes to their abilities. They are usually tanks and the muscle. However this race also depends on the plant group you pick. If you think something would fit the plant race, run it by the Co-GM or GM and we'll give you the a okay. Dolorian's typically start with nothing more than their fists or the odd trinket as they are usually made to work hard labor because of their rather lack of intelligence compared to other races. Of course there is alway the exception and one can be equipped with a gun, though nothing more than a simple one.
