An FBI agent, part of the White Collar Crime division, winds up getting a civilian caught in the crossfire. The man winds up in a coma, but the agent begins to think she is going mad as the ghost of the man haunts her as she continues to work. This is until the "ghost" takes a bullet for her, halting it in its tracks. She then begins to listen to the advice he offers her, through various psychic abilities he is starting to develop. But, just as the agent is starting to rely on his advice to solve her cases quickly and cleanly, things become complicated when her "ghost" wakes back up.

I'm just fine with doing skeleton character sheets for this story, although I might throw in a little bit of personality mixed with history, just to fully establish his character in my head. You don't have to, though, if you don't want to.

I've got some basic history I wrote for her last night that I can add to my sheet (family, schooling, previous work, etc), but I'll continue to develop stuff as we go~

Me as well.

Name: James Weller
Age: 29
Appearance:

History/Personality: James grew up in an upper class family, to distant parents. He instead found his attachment at school, becoming the popular kid that everyone actually likes, with a funny, welcoming attitude that both friends and teachers fell for. Through high school and college he was a part of student government, primarily as the event planner. Although he and his parents never really got along he was content to take their money and connections to become a full fledged event planner, and he quickly rose above his parent's connections through his own wit, charm, and good nature, creating ties with some of the most well-connected people in LA. One of these connections, Derek, and also one of James' closest friends, was actually a member in high standing of the LA underworld, and although he kept the connection cautious, James was never afraid to use the black market to get what he wanted to really make his events a hit with his customers. He is currently dating a paralegal at a prestigious law firm who has the skills to be a full lawyer, but who has never been able to get the score she needed on the bar to remain in the firm as a full lawyer. He and Virginia (Jenna) have been dating for five years, but both are devoted enough to their work that they are happy with their relationship as it is.
Family: His parents got divorced when he was 9.

Mother - Elizabeth Vance - partially estranged, they talk on holidays and birthdays. Three times divorced, currently unmarried. Thomas was her longest marriage - Anesthesiologist
Father - Thomas Weller - estranged. Wanted his son to follow in his footsteps, and didn't like it when James became an event planner, still married to his second wife, Brittany, who doesn't work - Petroleum Engineer
Younger Half Brother - Joseph Weller - They still get along well, because the sibling rivalry never formed between them while Jamie was switching houses on a regular basis currently 19, in college as a chemical engineer. Is fully prepared to give Jamie a portion of his father's money because James is no longer in the will, even though James says it isn't necessary.

Cool! These two are going to make a nice pair. Would you like me to add a family tree into mine?

Because she is 29, she's going to probably have two, if not three, bosses in the unit. The boss who is a part of her team, her boss' boss, who's in charge of the LA White Collar Crime unit, and then his/her boss, who is probably in charge of all of Cali. He'd either be based in LA or San Fran.

Honestly, I'm really looking forward to this! Jamie is going to get to make some nice new connections for her, both in the upper and lower world. :)

You can add a family tree if you want. I'm editing mine so I have a paragraph with all of her background information ha.

And all of that sounds great. I was thinking that she would have multiple bosses, so that sounds like a plan~

Perhaps she comes into conflict with people from his life? His girlfriend and his friends? People who blame her for him being in the coma.

Edited!

That is... actually very reasonable. I could see both Derek and Jenna making her life hell, because they are both well connected on completely opposite sides of the world. Honestly, with all the people he knows Jamie pretty much has connections to get him into any field. O.o Damn, he's cool.

Anyways. How do we want to start? Are we ready to start?

Well, I suppose figuring out what kind of investigation/conflict got Jamie caught up in the crossfire? And we could start out just before everything goes wrong.

That sounds good. Well, I'd assume that there is some rich person who got robbed, who is also one of Jamie's clients. We can say that the thief didn't actually have time to get the _____ out of the house, but he hid it really well, and he poses as one of Jamie's hires to get back into the house and get it. But the FBI eventually figure out that the thief didn't have time to get the.... jewels? out, and that the party is the perfect cover to go get it. But when they find him he draws a gun and takes Jamie hostage....

How's that sound?

That sounds good. Crashing an event seems like a good ay to create chaos. Maybe Jamie and Laurel bump heads about her barging into the event before she gets a tip from an agent in the van about movement upstairs and he like...follows her to argue with her some more. Which ends up being a mistake ha.

What exactly should happen to him that puts him in the coma? Just getting shot or something more?

We could start when the event is in full swing and Laurel arrives to search for the thief. Just before things start getting messy.

It isn't in his nature to pursue an argument. I'm thinking more that he needs a word with the thief because of whatever he is supposed to be doing for the party, and the timing is such that the thief ends up taking him hostage. The thief has a gun to his head, things are happening, it seems like it is all going good until another agent shows up, the thief draws a second gun, and when Laurel tries to shoot the thief she hits Jamie instead, on the side of the head because of a sudden, unpredictable move. The second agent takes out the thief, but Jamie's still in a coma. :)

I could start the scene with Jamie going to find the thief, if you like?

Wasn't sure where to end my last post, so hopefully it's okay? I was thinking maybe she has a confrontation with his friends and girlfriend at the hospital?

That works for me! She's going to be completely unable to get away under Derek and Jenna's combined assault. :)

Until her FBI buds help bail her out. I was also thinking that maybe she has to take time off of work while under investigation and is assigned a therapist and when she comes back starts seeing his ghost. We can time skip of course.

Err... I already started writing from his perspective, so could we bump the time table forward a bit? I mean, she catches a figure that looks like him out of the corner of her eye throughout the rest of the day, but doesn't fully acknowledge it until she's alone in her house. That could even be the reason she readily agrees to therapy, if you like?

Or... I can rewrite. I don't mind too much.
