Bullies, rules, being told what to do

Macie Roberts lives in a normal, white house just like all the others on her street. She has a mother and father, both of average height and jobs at the school and the local factory. They make a regular pay and drive a minivan and an SUV. Her brother, James, is nineteen and on the baseball team, he’s starting college this year as well, a business major, how nice. They have a golden retriever named buddy who eats out of a red bowl and gets a bath by Mrs.Roberts every third Saturday because he gets into Mr.Roberts’ freshly cut lawn after James plays frisbee with him. They wave to the mailman every morning Monday-Saturday and read the newspaper over a cup of coffee, and of course two lumps.It’s under this lens that one might assume Miss Macie would fit right in to the status quo, but one would be making a terrible mistake.

Macie was always a little special, she wore tutus and firefighter hats to school. She learned how to play the lute, and how she found one let alone learned to play is is beyond most. Instead of Barbie’s newest dream house, she penciled in microscopes and smoke bombs on her Christmas list. Although her parents didn’t allow for bombs of any sort, chemistry stations, lab kits, microscopes, telescopes, hydroponic stations and special calculators made their way under the tree. Her parents would hold each other and look at her with concern as she tore open the presents then ran off to her room. “A scientist,” Mr.Roberts would say, “The next Einstein!” Mrs.Roberts would gloat to the Uncles and Grandmas when they asked why she was always missing.

One might also wrongly assume she was not interested in people, or that she was a strictly factual being. Not only did she truly enjoy spending time with people of all ages and backgrounds, but she shared bits of herself with them in the most creative of ways. She loved school, as a child she loved recess especially, for she was allowed to tell grand stories to all of her classmates. They didn’t listen long, she always assumed they had too short of attention spans to listen, so she would just keep going, letting those who slowed their walking as they went by her listen. By the way she thought, she was an entertainer. People would listen, no matter how they tried to hide it, and they liked her no matter how much they ran. They weren’t mature enough to understand her demeanor. They even gave her a fun nickname, “Crazy Macie” which wasn’t logical to her whatsoever. It eventually was reconsidered and changed to “Zizi” which she liked much better. In fact, she demanded people call her by that name, as she hated her birth name of Macie . New teachers were the bane of her existence, calling her by that wretched name. This caused her to go into a loud, unstoppable, and lengthy explanation of the history of the name and how it didn’t suit her at all, and always giving the simple suggestion and solution of Zizi. Eventually, the principals gave in and changed her name on the record to Zizi, for everyone’s sake.

As for her alone time at home, or even at school, there were only outwardly speculations and assumptions. She would bring home books the size of herself from the library, and not the school one. She would have boxes of heavy materials delivered to the door. She would sometimes go outside and talk to bugs on the grass before putting one in her clear plastic specimen container and taking them to her room. Eventually she set traps for squirrels and birds, hoisting them to her room. There was sometimes smoke coming from the bottom of the door, sometimes there were noises. Her parents used to knock on the door and demand to see her room, finding only paper on the ground with drawings and microscopes. When they would inquire she would tell stories about creatures with seven eyes and no body and all the things they did to her room before disappearing into the paper. A nervous Mr and Mrs Roberts would wring their hands and call the therapist. Zizi loved her therapist as much as she loved anyone else, he would listen to her and remember her stories, he would even write down notes. This did not stop or even slow Zizi, in fact this encouraged her to tell the more unbelievable stories, even for her.

Personality:

In the crayon box of life, Zizi is the firecracker with a stick of glue and glitter shoved into it. She is more than outgoing, everything that she is has been displayed either through her questionable wears or bold actions. Nothing scares her and everything intrigues her. She wants to figure out how everything ticks, even those around her.

Looks:

She’s blonde just like her mother, but not for long periods of time. She never goes to the hairdresser, but she always ends up with jagged short hair and some color in it. The chemicals of her recent discoveries tends to tint it, and the only makeup she ever wears is lipstick, in any color (Sometimes glow in the dark) as well.

Her outfits never seem to make sense, to the true style of Zizi. She will often wear red boots, striped stockings with a rainbow skirt, and a blue and purple polka dot shirt. Pair that with blue hair and purple lipstick and you have a classic Zizi look. She will often sport the same belt, a rope of fuse, and one of her intentions atop her head - glasses with a knob on the side to magnify. Her hair was generally down, as it was short, but would sometimes be put into pigtails on special occasions.

On her side was always an over-the-chest satchel made of light brown leather. She kept sample containers and a few chemicals in here, as well as a notebook and five different colors of pens. She would often take notes and color-code them, a code nobody could figure out except possibly Zizi. In the pouches of her bag was her pet, Mr.Snuggles. Her parents had gotten her a sugar glider, but now this was no normal animal. Somehow, it had large ears, orange-striped fur and bucked teeth. Some say she bred it with some kind of rabbit, others say she surgically patched the poor animal. Zizi claims a wizard came to her and asked of her pet as an assistant in his case, but he needed to upgrade him first. And thus Mr.Snuggles was given great ears for hearing and a new color of fur to blend in of the fauna of the land he came from. The next day she found him safe and sound in his little bed. Mr.Snuggles had no cage, but instead was carried on a leash everywhere Zizi went. He often slept in her pocket, part from lunch when she fed him apples and bread crumbs.

Her hair has started to turn black and a pair of antlers now protrude from her head. Her body has started to become bony and her nails have grown out to large, black claws. Her eyes have turned to a charcoal-like color.
