I am more comfortable with the free rp section but maybe that is my problem. I constantly have role plays die because people lose interest after the first two days. I have noticed this with other role plays that are not mine that I have been a part of. Would Casual be a good place for long lasting role plays or another forum?

One of the biggest factors of a Roleplay's success is the GM's commitment. They have to drive the story forward, and immediately launch the story into an interesting and exciting plot. They can't hold the story for that one person who takes three days to make a post, or takes forever to finish their character sheet. They need to stay on top of the players and make sure they don't stray off course. Basically, they need to stalk the thread and be a constant pain in the ass to get it off the ground. The first few days are the most crucial. After that, yeah, the players are a big deal. I have been on a few different roleplay sites, and it's always the same deal; it's not just on the Guild. You always get player who lose interest and drop out. Especially in smaller groups, that can be hard to recover from. In my experience, roleplays do in fact do better in the Casual section. Maybe that's just because that's where most people are comfortable writing. In Free, if it isn't speed-posting, a lot of players lose interest and move on. Since Casual asks for more depth in a player's post, people allow for more time in between. So, that's my two cents! Good luck to you.
