Fereldon: Ruled by king Alistar and Queen Anora Fereldon while not in complete chaos still recovers from the Fifth blight. With an uneasy alliance with Orlais by will of the Inquisition Fereldon is in the most stable condition it has seen in almost 50 years.
Orlais: Empress Celene has gone uncontested since the grand ball assassination attempt. With the inquisitions support has flourished becoming stronger than ever.
Qunari: Controlling the Anderfells, Seheron and Rivarin (checking spelling) the Qunari continue to war with the Imperium.
Orzammar: Orzammar has been continuely under attack by seemingly endless darkspawn has despite the inquisitions best efforts continued to lose ground in their fought against the darkspawn and faces displacement if not worse.
Tevienter Imperium: Having seized control over the waning Nevarran kingdom the Imperium while not the days of old has become stronger.
Free marches: The Free Marches have fallen into chaos since the events of the Inquisition and are susceptible to the influence of the Qunari and would seem to be the next to be liberated by the Qunari or their Tevinter counterparts.
Lords of the Fallowmire: Declaring independence from the rest of Fereldon the Lords of the Fallowmire have taken the Fallowmire and surrounding area by means of force and legitmate land claims using mostly mercenary companies to keep the few Fereldon soldiers that can be spared at bay.
Wardens: After the events of inquisition the Wardens faced an inner strife separating their ranks and consequently are now I'll prepared for this blight.
Inquisition: The back bone of Thedas the inquisition is the most influential faction having great sway over everyone but the Qunari who while are not enemies of the inquisition do not count themselves as friends.
Chantry: The Chantry now with Leliana as their leader accepts all into the Chant openly spreading a deeper kinship between all races.

Game mechanics being healing via magic works like in Dragonage 2 with a spell that can be learned by any mage, Abilities don't exist only concepts behind them (have a little imagination), as a rogue or warrior you tire slightly the longer you fight things like adrenaline help keep you from exhaustion but don't last forever typical medieval battles can last hours if two sizeable forces meet keep this in mind, mages mana regenerate over time but you can run out quickly if your not careful lyrium potions can help this but you would likely only carry a few, dual wielding swords is a thing again.
