So, I've been pandering for a Bleach RP for a while and after trying and failing on the other Bleach focused Forum sites I've come back to where I've always been at RPG. Now my initial trouble with Bleach RP's as many of you will probably know if your fans of the show, is that the cast is huge. There are 13 prominent Captains and if the normal antagonists of the hollow return it's understandable to have the ten Espada. That's 23 characters! I've seen many a Bleach RP that sets out the organization and just lets people fill up the rosters as much as they can. However I've never actually seen this work to a....satisfactory degree, shall we say. The Gotei 13 is never filled and more often than not there are 3 or 4 people who have 17 characters dotted all over the place with a few other PC's here and there. So my plan, as of right now at least, is to focus the RP a little. I don't want a huge roster of players, people drop and quality as a whole is lost. I would like a smaller group of dedicated players who like to write in the Bleach Universe (Which incidentally reminds me of something I want to discourage, using the RP as a psuedo-arena, but I'll come to that later). So currently my idea is that each of the players will play the part of a Shinigami in the Gotei 13, You can be a Captain or Vice Captain maybe a 3rd seat but I would discourage and lower than that to keep you relevant. The rest of the Gotei 13 will be NPC's that anyone can control and interact with. I'm not sure whether or not the Espada should be NPC's or playable, I understand a lot of people would like to be Espada and not your run of the mill Shinigami as I'm also going to discourage any of the fringe races be it Quincy/Vizard/Fullbring or any other crap. They _can_ come into the story later but I just want to get the format and the basics right first. If, in the even the players who are interested decide that it will be best for the Espada to be NPC, then I suggest quite a nifty idea of a collaboration in which we can all design each of the Espada, 1-10. The problem arrives when we come to fight them, which being a Bleach RP, is mainly what we all want to see, the epic fights. I don't want to just leave players to fight the Espada on their own, because that's not fun, the idea is to have someone on the other end so you can collaborate and make something cool, plus just writing with yourself and not interacting witht he other players much could also become quite tedious, the alternative to this I see is that we each pick up the Role of an Espada if your not already engaged elsewhere, so you use the Espada for the fight then go back to your shinigami. This seems a little clunky to me unfortunately. The only other idea I had is that we scrap the Espada, because...there are to many. And create our own group of Hollow that is slightly smaller yet still pretty powerful, this means they are easier to control. What I think would just work would be one person controling the entire antagonist group, however the reason I want to make this RP is so I can do some badass fights with Shinigami I've made, I want to join in with the players and I fear that If I do that AND control all NPC's AND the antagonist group AND have o push the plot along I'll just get bogged down, bored and want to quit. So I'm entirely sure how to set this RP up. I'd love to start a discussion about how people think we could organize and structure a good Bleach RP that can keep track off all the moving parts with a smaller group of actual Role-players. I'm also hoping there are actually people who want a Bleach RP full stop :P anyway I've you've read this far thank you very much and I hope your interested in trying to build something cool. P.S I'm thinking it would be Causal, maybe High-casual. I don't mind if the writing is like 2-3 paragraphs size, but I like quality. Especially in character creation, powers wise.
