Oh, almost all my characters are water-themed. ^^; C00l to see other swimmers, though. What's your poison? I'm a marathoner, myself; 4k-8k swims, generally. But I do race, my favourites (and conveniently best) being backstroke and butterfly. I usually end up doing the 800 and 1500 free though. :p

I've never done more than a 1650 yards (1500 meters) in competition, but every year my high school swim team does an hour-long "marathon swim" and I have the record for that, 4750 yards. I also really like the 400-yard IM, though I'm not fabulous at it, and I really, really, really want to try the 200 fly. But my absolute favorite event is the 500 free. Yay to see another distancer!

Ahh, you're American, I'm guessing? I've never really seen anyone else use yards, but maybe I'm wrong. If I ever do swim crash camps in the US and they measure us in yards I get wildly confused. IM's are some of my favourite events, especially relay IM's. <3 I love being able to work with my teammates. And any fly event is awesome, so see if you can get in on that for your next meet. c:

Yep, I'm American. I'm one of the few Americans who doesn't get confused by meter events, I think. And who doesn't mind racing in a meter pool (Our practice pool is one of three in the state that can be configured as meters, and we ALWAYS practice meters.)

Totally missed your post, wow. Durrhurr. BUT I WISH I DID I AM NO PEASANT. But since you asked in the IRC channel, I'll just reiterate; I was a horrible DoTA 2 player, I broke up with the guy I was playing it with for the most part (awkwardly enough we met at a streaming event garrh), and my brother (whom usually laned with me and also helped me learn the damn thing) went off to do smart doctor things in university and only played WoW with me anymore, which we both eventually quit. tl;dr I was shitey without those two.

Oh, yeah, thankfully I've got my counts down pretty well for both, because sometimes I practice in a yard pool and sometimes in meters. Because I don't actually live in the town in which I officially practice (my dad had a political issue with the local team and he's still holding a grudge, so we drive 50 miles three times a week for swim practice) I do extra practices on my own in our local yard pool. But sometimes, like during the summer, I don't, and then when I get in for high school season, it's just like... "...fourteen fifteen six-- wait there's a wall here?!" Yeah. Fun. I've actually hit my head twice for not paying attention.

You should try smite. I find that Moab a lot of fun myself.
