For those of you who actually have some talent in writing, unlike myself, and have ascended beyond the foul pits of "Free" this might seem a little strange. This strange thing that i have just now noticed is that in "Free" there are only two different genres of RP that seem to be there with the rare exception of something else forming in the interest check and even then anything outside these two genres don't usually survive long when it comes to show time, with that said I must say not much in "Free" survives long. Anyway I was wondering does this sort of thing happen in the other sections of the Guild? Do other sections have dominant genres? What the survival chances for something thats not part of that genre to survive in that section? Im very interested to hear.

Advanced has a massive, raging erection for fantasy adventures, be it high- or low-fantasy. Which is fine by me because I looooove me some fantasy. Post-apocalypse is also popular. Modern fantasy (vampires and werewolves) also claims its fair share.

I would say casual has a large breadth of different genres I've seen Fantasy/Sci-Fi detective and horror have popped up a few times a number of slice of life RP's. However I would also say it's difficult to find an RP that will last, in my experience. Which is the major bug-bear for me.

Nation RP loves it some sci-fi themes, most often dominated by space travel and being penned off as "Space Operas". Behind that are your typical alt-history RPs and then a few fantasy RPs.

Aaron you gotta love the spaceship. It go Right. No sound in space. But hey look at the aliens aren't they so cool? Though yes, sci-fi is a pretty common genre in NRP. Not sure if it is dominant dominant since other genres show up pretty frequently.

NRP needs more city sim. And then we've laid ourselves out over just about everything.

Oh Jesus Christ does NRP love sci-fi. The largest NRP in terms of IC posts was Void of the Stars at 751 IC posts, followed closely by Void of the Stars II: Return to the Stars, then comes From Stardust, To Stardust (If I'm not wrong, that is). All of these are sci-fi, and all of them are in the same series of roleplays. Yep. Three biggest NRPs in terms of IC posts are sci-fi. I see that as pretty damn dominant.

If you're asking about atm I can't really say, I've been out of the Guild's RPing community for a while now (might get back into it though). Though note trends and popular theme's change all the time, just do whatever genre/theme you like and people will show up. Plus you're RP better if you enjoy the genre anyways.
