Jalahard looked over his kingdom. It was as prosperous as always. In the days from when he was just a boy, there was always this darkness that settled around the city, than made people unable to come out due to fear. Only later did he discover that this was a result of the Demon Lord Vriskaya's rebirth occurring right inside the palace of the Old King. He chuckled. Back then, he would never have imagined becoming one of the seven (eight to some, including him) heroes that overthrew the previous king, combated the Demon Lord after his revival, and eventually ushered in a new era of prosperity for the Shirandi Kingdom. Half of his companions - the heroes - died and the ones that remained were all wanderers by nature; they refused to become king. So much to his surprise, the young bakers apprentice, him, at just seventeen years old, was crowned as the new king. Four years have passed since then, and his power has grown considerably since, but still not on the level of Dutch, the deceased leader of the Heroes of the Lamp. Perhaps this was due to the fact that there was no longer anyone that could prove a challenge to him? He was once told that in order to get stronger, one must have a purpose and a rival. His purpose was to defend his kingdom, but there was none that could prove a worthy rival. Jalahard sighed, and beautiful dark haired woman approached him. "Why so glum, my king?" His wife, Shirone, a sorceress that he had rescued during the dark times. The sparks of love flew between them but both being stubborn, it took awhile for either to confess, and even longer for a proposal to happen - but that is a story for another time. "I want to get stronger, but there is none in my Kingdom to give me that push I need . . ." Shirone, who was never one to understand his love for battle, just nodded in acceptance. "Well, then perhaps you have to seek outside the kingdom?" "That is an idea . . . but I cannot leave just yet. There is still much to do, and I am not so competent as to be able to solve the kingdoms problems from far away. No, if there is to be a worthy challenger, he is to come to me."

Reina Wisdom really wished she paid attention to that shopkeeper now. She was told that the landscape of Shirandi Kingdom had changed considerably since the battle with the Demon King, and that the old maps were obsolete. She was told to wait a week until the new, more accurate maps arrived, before setting off for the capital, but she insisited on journying ahead anyway. I mean, how much could a county's landscape change anyway? Of course, like with most of her decisions when it comes to travelling, that came to bite her in the rear. She should have known that battles with Demons Kings would cause whole mountains to disappear off the maps and for entire roads to just vanish! "Argh! That does it, I'm teleporting straight there!" she shouted in frustration. No matter how much the landscape changed, after all, the capital was still in the capital. As long as she had a general sense of where it was, Spatial-Transfer Magic was possible. She wanted to avoid using magic if possible, since she was trying to be incognito, but at this rate, she would never get there in time to fit her plans . . . Calling upon her magic, Reina's vision blurred for a second, before her surroundings changed . . . Hm? Why is it so dark . . . and soft? Landing on top of the Kings wife would feel like that yes. "Huh?"

Jalahards eyes widened upon seeing a woman appear from nowhere and land on top of Shirone. Years of combat instincts screamed at him 'this woman is dangerous!' and he reacted accordingly. The curved sword at his side disappeared in a flash and shot its way towards Reina's head. The blow was fast enough that a crack could be heard as the sound barrier was destroyed, and various objects flew off in disarray. His eyes grew completely black up until the sclera as he entered his 'Three-eyes King' State - a state of being where he could predict his opponents actions by viewing the past, present and future at the same time.

Reina was unable to react to the sword coming towards her . . . but then again, she didn't need to. The various barriers around her person stopped the sword from coming even a foot close to her. Leaping off the woman she just landed on - that was embarrassing - she eyed her attacker warily. "Excuse me, but perhaps there's been a bit of a misunderstanding . . ."she began wit explanation. "That was an accident you see. Perhaps we can put down the sword and I won't have to level your building, yes?" Damn it, giving out threats was no good! she scolded herself - but Reina never has been the best with hiding her aggressiveness. In case he decided to pursue the fight, Reina's trigger for magic in her mind already cocked and ready to fire.
