With Jacks scans complete he had his destination. The base was dark and silent. Not a gust of wind or a sound to echo except the sound of his footsteps. He limped through the halls toward the power source. He looked to see it was from a model similar to his. It was like him but an older model. "I'm sorry for this." He drained the remaining power form the robot that sat before him. "I'll bring you back one day." He began to limp away when the power for the part of the facility he was in. "Looks like I'm not alone." He then walked to the robot repair line. He was lucky to find the tools and supplies to repair the plating on his leg. The wires and circuits couldn't be much better but atleast they were better protected form suffering more damage. Jack figured that because he used the repair line that who ever turned the power on would know it was just used. Jack then responded to the emergency message with the code word. "Fleece." [Code word accepted] "This IU MK-5 number 34829. Nicknamed 'Jack' broadcasting on immediate emergency frequency. If you can hear...respond immediately." Jack was waiting for a response while moving to the armory that his scanners pick up earlier. Once he had reached it he grabbed an extra pistol and rifle. He picked up the ammunition that was there and for his designated guns. He was designed to carry ammunition and provide combat support so this wouldn't make much of a difference to him. "I repeat. This is IU MK-5 number 34829. Nicknamed 'Jack'. Code word is Fleece. If you can here me broad casting on this emergency frequency then respond immediately."

779 moved with skill up a slope detecting a wrecking battle going on and her curiosity drove her to ignore her fears. Once she reached the top her suit's camouflage was protesting due to magnetic dust clinging to it's surface and muddling up it's receptors. Delta 779 sensed the approach of a fast quadruped type but a quick probabilities calculation by Alpha cancels any idea of flight counseled by Beta. Judging her position and those of the Bots engaged in combat and the others attracted 779 decides she's safer not moving. Perhaps if she played this right she'd survive with no damage or at least very little 779 could gain the time she needs come up with the perfect escape pattern; to do this required more data about the tactical situations. As she watched 779 cataloged those bots she could see and the two fighting Alpha detailing their range of motion and reactive speeds. Deciding to save power she removes her helmet and shakes her hair loose before trying it up into a high pony tail. Actually I couldn't even begin to think of the proper way to answer that as I have no idea of who you are or what you'd call my designation. You know it is quite annoying to realize how little we all know. says 779 to the unidentified quadruped. She has a great deal to think about as she waits to find is where she goes from here. That's when she dwells for the first time on her lack of old term memory. Sure she's able to use interesting levels of information that seem ingrained but most of it is hard loaded and not actually memory. Her actual memory was confined to events since she'd awakened and her handler giving her a set of six coordinates. She had no idea of the why it was important that she go to these places but she felt an urge tickle at her to discover what was there.

Upon hearing the human-droid's vague response, Cerberus underwent a series of algorithms in its CPU unit in an attempt at formulating the correct response. "I am Cerberus, a recon and surveillance unit. Do you have a name?" Cerberus rephrased, its tone of voice sounding more sincere, more human. [ANALYSIS OF RESPONSE: SUBJECT DISPLAYS PSYCHOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR REMINISCENT OF HUMAN CREATORS. RECOMMEND INVESTIGATE FURTHER] Cerberus' attention was diverted as its audio receptors picked up...a voice, from its radio frequency. "This IU MK-5 number 34829. Nicknamed 'Jack' broadcasting on immediate emergency frequency. If you can hear...respond immediately. I repeat. This is IU MK-5 number 34829. Nicknamed 'Jack'. Code word is Fleece. If you can here me broad casting on this emergency frequency then respond immediately." Shifting its direction slightly, Cerberus spoke into its own built in radio, ignoring the battle between the two Colossals behind it; as long as they didn't see Cerberus, it wouldn't react. [PRIMARY DIRECTIVE TAKES PRECEDENCE, REMAIN ACTIVATED, FIND "JACK"] "K-9 Unit, Mk. 1, CERBERUS responds. I am tracing your location, state the nature of your emergency, IU MK-5." Cerberus spoke into the radio before turning once again to the human-droid. "Our chances of survival are increased substantially in groups." It said calmly, not-so-subtly hinting that the two of them join forces, if only for the time being.

Base codename: Carbon At last King124 had crossed the distance , standing beside Thief of Bagdad at newly opened entrance to the base. Demolition type seemed perplexed at the sudden appearance of new faces but was still locked in battle with the large beast, still she heeded this new info as knowledge of a weakpoint was just what she had needed to turn the tide. And an extended impact hammer was just the tool for hamstringing this defiling creature. While dodging an clumsy strike of claws, she swiped at her enemy´s feet, cracking two of them open, Blue Reaper buckled and fell to the ground roaring, clawing at the floor in front of it. For a while King124 listened, then spoke. "I know it is in pitiful state right now, but beastdom does not simply scramble or lock personality programming and integrated logic, It erases them. Letting it wither here until its cells run dry as the desert outside would be cruel indeed, and I am not a vengeful ruler." King124 approached the downed beast and it lashed at him with one of its fearsome clawed hands. Sidestep, strike, spin, strike. With such minimal movement, one of Kings blades had removed beasts arm and other blade was wrist deep in beasts central cortex, its end was instantaneous. He rose to stand on his downed foe and greeted this brave demolition type almost eye to eye. "Well met my beautiful warrior poet! I am King124, reigning monarch of these lands and the compassionate observant one behind me is R-22 Thief of Bagdad. While I had no doubts about your immediate victory, I could not stand idly by while such transgression crossed my path. My castle is set right outside with repair nanites available, won´t you join us there and regale us with your songs and stories?" That is when they heard the radio signal. "Ah, It must be the other base, after brief respite let us travel there as well." Such signals were quite common every time new pulse brought more robots back to life, downside was it could always attract all sorts of scoundrels and vagabonds to take advantage of newly awakened and confused automatons...

"No, you don't understa-" Thief starts, but by then it's too late. It walks, slumped, to the dead robot before laying one hand upon it. "I was not begging for its life." Thief says slowly. This, too, was surly a sign. A reminder. A rebuke from Thief's creators for its cowardice. If it had started its journey sooner, if it had worked up the nerve to brave the wastes and make its way from this blasted place, it may have found what it was searching for already. But it hadn't, and now at the dawn of its journey one more lifeless body lay in front of it. One more robot consigned to oblivion. "I will not apologize for my cowardice for I know it will not hear me." Thief says to itself. "I will take this as a lesson, and use it to reaffirm my quest." Done, Thief turns to the large robot. Better to attend to the living stare uselessly at the dead. It's eyes look over the large destruction bot. "I apologize. Would you allow me to attend to your damage, minor as it may be?"

Instaurabo
Directive. That is what he was missing. Instaraubo had been processing what actions he should take, but was overwhelmed. Literally. His primary function was to repair and redesign damaged technology... Whereas parts of the building itself were torn apart. The large generators alone were enough to drive his processors crazy, his eyes kept wanting to target individual parts, and then list their functions, and then list possible replacements, etc etc. For each and every piece of trashed technology a red outline and alert were plagueing him and his computations. “STANDBY RECOGNITION AND IDENTIFICATIONS REPAIR FUNCTIONS 223 TO 432124. ACTIVATE ON REQUEST.” Affirmative. Recognition and Identification functions active on inquiry mode only. If his audio projection had been working, a very human sigh would have escaped the robot. There was a faint crackle, and the worn computer’s voice spoke again. Alert. The Repair center has been activated, sensors identify humanoid shaped droid. It is currently broadcasting on the emergency frequency. Just then, his internal radio spoke into Instaurabo’s ear. Or rather, it ran the data through the same converter that transfered actual sound into data that his processors could understand. It was pretty much the same as hearing it. "This IU MK-5 number 34829. Nicknamed 'Jack' broadcasting on immediate emergency frequency. If you can hear...respond immediately." “COMPUTER. POWER AND CONNECT COM SYSTEM TO REPAIR CENTER.” Affirmative. Power and communications opened between generator room and repair center. “MK-5. THIS IS INSTAURABO, NICKNAMED ‘STAR’. I REQUEST YOUR CURRENT STATUS AND DIRECTIVE.” Star paused. Humans would find his vocal projection harsh and displeasing. It was unfortunate that his software for vocalization was out of date, he would have to fix this. Another radio frequency came through his system. ”K-9 Unit, Mk. 1, CERBERUS responds. I am tracing your location, state the nature of your emergency, IU MK-5.” The computer crackled as the speaker picked up in the armory. ”This is Jack. I am located at the armory. I have just finished grabbing what I could. My primary and only directive is to survive. You said you are an engineer unit. My left left is suffering damaged circuitry at the knee joint...can you fix it?” “THIS IS STAR. AFFIRMATIVE. I AM CAPABLE OF ADVANCED REPAIRS. GRANTED RESOURCES. ARE ANY OTHER ROBOTS OR HUMANS WITHIN YOUR VICINITY?” ”I have received communications from an unknown robot. My scanners have not been able to detect any viable ‘life’ signatures. Do you know what has happened here?” “NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE. MY REACTIVATION WAS INITIATED WITHIN THE LAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. WHAT IS YOUR BUILD AND DESIGN PURPOSE?” ”I was designed to provide vital combat support to allied infantry and carry ammunition to other squads during the war. You stated you were an engineer. What extent of damage can you repair?” Instaurabo stood and quickly replaced his gear within the appropriate storage slots. He requested the location of the armory from the computers and set out after ordering the computer to continue to relay his words through intercom. “MY PARAMETERS STATE SPECIFICALLY TO REPAIR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE TO ‘WORKING’ CONDITION. WORKING DEFINED AS FUNCTIONING IN ORIGINAL CAPACITY. HOWEVER, I RESERVE THAT LACK OF RESOURCES WILL RESTRICT THE QUALITY OF REPAIRS. I RECOMMEND YOU LOCATE A SIMILAR MODEL TO YOURSELF IF CIRCUITRY IS YOUR MALFUNCTION. ” ”I have located a similar model. Its function and purpose were the same as mine. It is not the same version but simply an older model. Are you capable of using its circuitry to repair mine?” “STAND BY. TESTING AND MANUAL FITTING MAY BE REQUIRED. PLEASE SECURE YOUR CURRENT POSITION. I WILL COME TO YOU.” ”Please move with urgency. I may be peaceful but it is possible something hostile has also picked up on your transmission.” Instaurabo froze for a split second at that last message. He asked the computer to close the local communications and moved at a jog towards the armory. His processors hadn’t come up with that possibility, he was designed for war, but not for battle. A sad miscalculation.

Jack stood by the armory and waited for Star to show up. He heard the foot steps and turned to see Star jogging. "I will take you to the older model I mentioned." Jack held up his rifle and began jogging down the hall. He still moved with a limp so it was easy to tell the circuitry was messed up. After he had led Star to the older model he took off the plating on his left leg to reveal the damaged circuitry. "Before you and I began communicating I had received a broadcast from another unit. It was a K-9 unit MK-1 Cerberus. It stated that it was tracking my location. I believe we should stay in the immediate area but stay hidden. I am not entirely sure it is friendly." Jack watched as Star did what he could to fix his leg. After Star was done and his leg plating was put back on he stood up. [Accessing memory file....loaded] Jack was watching his last memory. The background was so different. It was on a battlefield but the sky and ground still looked nothing like what it's like now. [Memory file closed] "Did the war cause all this? Are they any humans left? It wouldn't make sense for my directive to be so open unless they would be gone. My Cpu is more open to process and think. What did the creators do to make us like this?"

Vestig-881J
Rather than risking joining the fight that seemed to be going down from the source of the tune heard previously, the machine dictated it was in its best interests to move around the conflict rather than participate in it. Luckily for it, Vestig would still be able to find other robots. Moving quietly, following basic stealth protocol by always ducking behind adequate cover approximately once per each two seconds of movement, Vestig saw more figures in the distance. Fearing an encounter, Vestig made sure to move extra cautiously. As the machine neared the two figures, it saw the more minute details of their body structure. Quietly, he sat still, analyzing these two other figures. "One is obviously based off the body of a canine. Scanning databases . . . MODEL NOT LISTED. Scanning threat level of both units . . . nominal." Vestig looked at the other figure, which he recognized as a more advanced robot. It was more humanoid, its facial features resembling that of a human female, which Vestig understood to be the frailer of the two genders, but also the one forced to bear children. Humans are rather strange, thought Vestig as he pulled up any and all information available to him of this "female" race of humans. Sifting through his files at record speed, he noticed much of his data was a jumbled mess when he read of some human named 'AmelRosa EarParks' refusing to give up her seat to the 'white man' as she flew across the Alabantic ocean in the year of 1928. It was clear he needed another computer to straighten out his files and programs, potentially reinstalling a few programs to keep things in order. When his attention was diverted back to the two machines, the canine was addressing himself by the name 'Cerberus'. Vestig remembered that name, but he had to search his files to find out more details. Luckily, he was able to find the link between this machines name and the dog of ancient legend. Vestig, however, was keen to notice that this machines had only one head, while the Cerberus of legend had three. "Silly humans, can they not even comprehend simple values?" Vestig, however, decided that he would stay hidden as long as possible, not giving in to running his own mouth. He noticed the canine machine speaking to another direction. Was there another machine there? Vestig needed to find out. Slowly, steadily, Vestig began crawling on all fours to hide his movement as he frantically tried to evaluate whether or not there was another machine he was not aware of.

As Delta walked along her spurious logic buffer Omega Primary dredged up a random yet soothing song for her to enjoy. "We were talking about the space between us all, And the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion— never glimpse the truth. When it's far to late -- when they pass away" she sings in a sweet voice designed at one time to please her primary handler or their friends. As she sings her arms raise to her sides undulating as if waves flowed from one set of fingertips across her body an flowed out the others. Her song carries sadness mingled with hope as well as deep existential thought. When she finishes her song her three CPU begin to examine what at first appears a random file on the Existentialism of existence. She begins to see why when the existential attitude", or a sense of disorientation and confusion in the face of an apparently meaningless or absurd world begins to take hold. She studies how existence precedes essence, which means that the most important consideration for individuals is that they are individuals—independently acting and responsible, conscious beings "existence" rather than what labels, roles, stereotypes, definitions, or other preconceived categories the individuals fit or seem forced into. She understand innately that the philosophy of Existentialism was meant for humans but that it can because of it's fluid rules be used to explain her's and other Plasmic lifeforms existence. It is through her own consciousness that she creates her values and determines the meaning of life. It's pretty heady stuff and appeals to her Triplex system in a way that's difficult to discribe. She realizes that a bot who acts cruelly towards others is, by that act, defined as cruel. Furthermore, by this action of cruelty, such are themselves responsible for their new identity cruel. This is as opposed to their initial designed use, or programing bearing the blame. She then ponders the Absurd mentioned in the philosophy that efforts to find inherent meaning will ultimately fail and hence are absurd because the sheer amount of information as well as the vast realm of the unknown make total certainty impossible. It is in this truth that she begins to understand that she is now her own definition of reality and that not all things deserve her concern so long as they remain outside her sphere of being. She may create meaning in her own life, which may not be the objective meaning of life if there is one, but can still provide something to strive for. While realizing she must always maintain an ironic distance between this invented meaning and the knowledge of the absurd, lest the fictitious meaning take the place of the absurd. "I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free." she says aloud as she realizes that for her the world has now changed due to her new enlightened perceptions

King124 scoured base Carbons ground floor quickly, not feeling particular need to explore lower levels from whence the beast had came. Few partially filled powercells were the only fruits of this labor and the king concealed them within his robes to grant as prizes for worthy subjects. He and Ferug werent even nearly as wealthy as King124 led everyone to believe, mainly because he liked having his cell at maximum all times just in case, and the colossi drained extravagant amounts just to move and scan surroundings. But he had resolved that this world would remember him as a gracious ruler, one to never turn down those in need of his guiding radiance. Once he emerged from the base he saw that Ferug and Thief had repaired nearly all superficial damage of the demolition unit. "While to us, robot kind, absence of daylight is but an minor nuisance, we should still make our way towards the other installation before nightfall. I have hope that our newly awakened brethren there will join our ranks and we can journey northwards where supposedly great metallic spires dominate the landscape, so far Zeta-001- has not been quite as profitable an venture as I had initially hoped." Soon the plains bathing in evening sun rang once again with colossal footsteps, the other base was mere 2,5 miles from Carbon and they would be seen and heard long before their arrival there.

"I am worried." Thief says as the colossal robot trudges along toward the second base. "That transmission earlier has stopped. Do you believe that something has happened to the sender, your majesty?" Looking around at the wasteland from Ferug's massive shoulder, Thief took the opportunity to observe the wreaks that littered this old battlefield. Maybe there would be something to help in whatever situation they were walking into, whether violent or diplomatic. Instaurabo
Upon entering the armory, Instaurabo immediately located the slightly taller, but much more sturdily built battlebot. He only nodded when the other spoke of the other model, following it. His eyes focused on the abnormally moving limb, called a ‘leg’ by humans. Star silently sent a command to his internal processors. Analyze and identify problem. Immediately data began scrolling down his sensors, showing measurements in his sight, including the very angles the limb was moving at. Analysis Complete. Possible reasons for malfunction are... -Loss/Inconsistent pneumatic pressure -Loss/Inconsistent power -Faulty Circuitry -Water infiltration -Broken Joint -Broken Servo -Broken Bearing ... Instaurabo immediately stopped going through the data readout when they located the other bot. ‘Jack’ removed some armor plating on his left leg. Within was a mess of wires and some cracked circuitry. Immediately, the computers began re-analysis of the issue. Analysis Complete. The list has been narrowed to... -Loss/Inconsistent power -Faulty Circuitry Offer more detailed list under each section? Instaurabo had already begun disassembling the dead model’s leg, his tool morphing at an impressive rate, the pieces seeming to come off in his hands as easily as a human might take apart a puzzle. He selected several pieces of circuitry and removed some longer pieces of wire, ignoring the fact that not all the wire had belonged to this original system. “I AM CUTTING OFF THE POWER SUPPLY TO YOUR LEG. THIS IS A PLANNED PROCEDURE.” It was a programmed feature in his system- in the past less intelligent bots had been known to destroy engineers mid-job, observing loss of power similar to any other attack and responding in kind. Instaurabo moved quickly, carefully removing the older circuitry and cataloging it in his system as he did, next removing any worn, exposed, or faulty wiring. He reached back and slipped the cords of the Battery Pack built into his kit, calibrating the appropriate charge. Methodically he went through, testing connection points with small bursts of electricity- this caused the mechanical limb to jerk, kick, and turn. At various points, upon finding an irregularity in the movement, Star would take his dissembler, carefully adjusting various switches and screws, applying lubricant were necessary. Finally satisfied, he replaced both the charging cords and removed the welding pen, carefully soldering in the individual connections from recalled memory and his newly updated data banks. He once again went through the process of testing for each section that required new circuitry as he installed the new chips, and once satisfied carefully bundled the cords neatly according to purpose and grouping, using discarded wire as ties. The final thing he did was reconnect the circuits to Jack’s main system, allowing him renewed access to power and control of that leg. Saving and Compiling notes of procedure... “I WOULD ADVISE IMMEDIATE TESTING, AS THERE IS A .23903% CHANCE OF CALIBRATION ERROR.” Instaurabo went back to the helmet of the dead model, disassembling it. He knew exactly what he was looking for- it was simple, a memory storage model used universally among the humans for storing data- and used universally among robots for storing smaller static programs. It was located within the sound processing unit, as expected. Raising a hand to his own head, Instaurabo twisted his fingers precisely, pressing, and then sliding a small section of his headpiece sideways, exposing several slots. He plucked out a similar storage module, about the size of a fingernail, and slid the newer one into place, discarding the old one without a glance. Fingers once again moved in a practiced motion, relocking the plate. Functioning Audio Projection module detected. Switching control from System Speakers. Vocabulary database expanded. “Better.” His new voice had become more similar to Jack’s, though not quite the same. More human would be an accurate statement. “This facility hasn’t shown any sign of life, robotic or otherwise, besides us. I have already had the computers run scans on the building. My primary directive has not altered. I am to locate and repair friendlies in any manner possible.” Instaurabo tilted his head slightly. “However, friendly is undefined, and I have no area of assignment. My directive is vague as well. I believe I possess a basic understanding of humanity however. They seem to focus primarily on survival. I doubt that our creators would have caused their own destruction unless it ensured the further survival of the specie.” His processors focused momentarily on the weaponry possessed by the other bot. “I identify you as friendly, mainly based upon the lack of ‘shots fired’. However, my own function was not designed for combat duties, nor solo traveling. I request permission to join your squadron as combat engineer until such a point that a humanoid can re-assume control.” [POWER TO COMPUTE: Scan Jack and his equipment for further malfunctions.]

Jack sat and watched as Star did the work on his leg. When he stated that power to his leg he simply ignored it. Jack was focused on something else. His rifle was held up as if he was aiming. Jack was scanning the area. It was as if he was 'covering' Star as he fixed Jacks leg. Jack watched as Star did something to the older model. He then listened as Stars vocabulary sounded more human. "Your speech pattern has changed. My speech pattern is more human than most. Logic would dictate it has something to do with my service and design. You don't need permission to join my squad. You saved my leg so I suppose I owe you. I have two more questions about your function. Do you posses and combat functionality and can you access my memory drive? I have one memory file that is still intact. It shows the reason behind my damage. We may also be able to piece together what happened if last memories are shared." Jack stood up after the repairs were done and began testing the mobility of his leg. "We should head to the repair facility and grab tools you may need for future unsafe conditions. It is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." Jack began to start walking but he then stopped and turned around. His movements were very human like. It could be that it is because humans felt more comforatable fighting along side machines if they acted more like humans. "I also have a broken wrist mounted grenade launcher. I can take it apart but and out it back together but repairing each individual peice would be a outside of my functionality." [leg mobility restored...combat effective functionality...95%]

Holding the railing welded on Ferugs shoulders King124 addressed Thiefs concerns. "Such things are an unfortunate possibility in these lands, If anything has occurred I too hope we are in time to either save or avenge them." He looked downwards, they were close now. At times he wondered what it would be like to be a colossus, have earth tremble at your approach, riding Ferugs broad shoulders he could almost imagine it. But then again all colossi he ever met never seemed to have much going on "between the ears" so to speak, so it might not be such an glorious position after all. He never had thoughts like this while he was under direct human control, puzzling thing to be sure. He wondered If all automatons were the same in this regard, quite possible. "Ah, my friends, we have arrived." "Ferug detect... more power signals east of Ferug... They seem... Good..." "Well then, we simply have to make our introductions loud. Set up our table and open the gates." Without an pause Ferug crashed on its knees again and doors to his innards were opened with a loud hiss. King124 clambered down from his viewing perch on the shoulder and signaled Thief to join him. He set his vocabulator on maximum (which was loud indeed on bodyguard models as their masters were quite fond of flashy introductions, one thing King124 had inherited from them.) "To my automaton kin within and without base codename:*******! I am King124, ruler of land and castles! Neither I nor my compatriots wish you any harm! You all have awakened within 24 hours and are without clear directives I assume? Permit me access within the base and we shall share on what power we have acquired and answer any questions you might have with the best of our considerable knowledge!" After having made his announcement King124 approached the base with arms spread wide, signaling both peace and fearlessness. His aura of confidence barely concealing running of fearful simulations what could be done if this was to be just an huge nest of beasts now.

Cerberus' target on the human-droid was interrupted by a sudden influx of energy signatures, coming closer. As if on cue, a large colossal, one of the first it had ever seen came to its knees; its center opening up to reveal a rather regal looking machine. [RUNNING SCAN...PENDING RESULTS...BODYGUARD MODEL - DESIGNATION: UNKNOWN. CHANCES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DETERIORATION: MINIMAL, PROCEED NORMALLY] Cerberus moved closer to where the regal machine was, keeping its head low, as if still on the hunt. "King...I have not heard such a title used actively before, yet knowledge of it is contained in my archives. What is your designation and directive?" Cerberus asked King124, phrasing it as though it was as much a standard greeting as "Hello", or "How are you?".

Delta 779 listened to the King model say "To my automaton kin within and without base codename:*******! I am King124, ruler of land and castles! Neither I nor my compatriots wish you any harm! You all have awakened within 24 hours and are without clear directives I assume? Permit me access within the base and we shall share on what power we have acquired and answer any questions you might have with the best of our considerable knowledge!" She ponders his words and then listens as Cerberus answers King124. "King...I have not heard such a title used actively before, yet knowledge of it is contained in my archives. What is your designation and directive?" She then analyzes the two bot's statements for content and their psychology. Then formulates an appropriate response. Greetings King I am A Delta newly awakened and seeking my identity in this strange land in which I find myself. Presently I have yet to chose a name with which I am comfortable so in lew of a Name I ask to be simply known as 779

Instaurabo
Instaurabo shook his head. "I am capable of operating a firearm, but I am not programmed for combat or even self defense. My aim may be accurate, but I would lack the combat senses that you possess. Namely that of identifying cover, patterns within enemy firing rate, distance and range of enemy based upon spread, etc..." His eyes glowed slightly brighter as he replaced his tools, locking them into place. "I may be capable of accessing your memory, but I cannot retrieve corrupted data, or obtain any information beyond that which you already may ascertain from the data without more advanced tools." Instaurabo however, did turn and start heading back towards the repair center. His kit was entirely together, but it wouldn't hurt to look for upgrades. Suddenly, a large quake shook the ground, and a voice bellowed out, muffled by the walls, but there nonetheless. "To my automaton kin within and without base codename:*******! I am King124, ruler of land and castles! Neither I nor my compatriots wish you any harm! You all have awakened within 24 hours and are without clear directives I assume? Permit me access within the base and we shall share on what power we have acquired and answer any questions you might have with the best of our considerable knowledge!" "It appears that the robots having awoken previous to ourselves have developed a feudal state of government. It may be profitable to communicate with such, though these others may decide to simply invade the base and take control over the generator themselves." Instaurabo shrugged. It sreally mattered little to him what they did, and as far as he was concerned, his companion was the squadron leader. That was all he needed. "As for your launcher, I currently lack access to parts to repair that model. However, I did find a working scanner, it will require a new power source."

Thief doesn't move too close to the duo that King had wandered up to, staying far behind the larger robot and observing what happened. Being as small as it was, and the lingering programming that came with being a scout model, caused it to hang back and gather information before presenting itself so long as there wasn't some pressing need. It felt the touch of the creators as its eyes lit up, the computer in its brain taking in the information and outputting an analysis of the robots before it. Perhaps one of them was the machine it was searching for. (POWER TO COMPUTE: I'm scanning each of the robots here to get a read on what they are and what they can do. I'm also looking for three things specifically: the abilities to Self-Repair, Self-Replicate, and Self-Evolve.)

As King124 reached the entrance and saw glimpses of two robots inside, he was approached from the side by a canine type unit and an advanced android, for a fleeting splitsecond Kings processor defined the android as genuine human female and he almost let out a loud gasp, almost. Then he sensed the powercell within her and was brought back to reality. Both of them had caught King124 by surprise and it seemed their capabilities of stealth and espionage were on a scale of their own. He was quite excited indeed, were all those who appeared here to join him, they could definitely reach the great source of untapped power King124 had been travelling towards since his awakening. "My four legged friend, that is simply because I am the only monarch upon these lands and this is our first meeting!" [Searching appropriate musings to define unknown automaton... found 80% match of search criteria.] "Cry havoc! And let slip the dogs of war! I see your form has been modeled after the fascinations of ancient poets! We have much to discuss indeed. My directives are to enstablish a nation upon these lands and for that we need resources, leading me to my proposition I reveal to you all shortly!" After this the android made her introductions. "And greetings to you 779, Ill say, your resemblance to our creators is striking indeed and your obvious capabilities in espionage are fascinating to me, we simply have to discuss further at a later date, perhaps we shall discover a fitting name for you." He saw the trusty Thief scanning all those gathered in his usual fashion, King didnt doubt that R-22 could also identify clearly those two signatures within the dim base he himself had trouble peering inside, but even he could tell that one of them was heavily armed, so he took his steps inside with caution. "I make assumption that you are IU MK-5 number 34829 and the other one is who orchestrated that lovely poem within his initial radio signal. We all stand within the doorsteps of DESTINY! And while darkness of night has fallen upon the plains I would gladly get better acquainted and discuss our individual directives, in light." King124 reached within his regal robe and pulled out an full powercell.

Jack listened as Instaurabo continued to talk about combat functionality. "Good point. If you can't identify what cover is then your kinda screwed. Don't worry too much. As long as we aren't agains't a fully operational war machine, I can keep you alive. I must say though. I'm sure your chances of survival calculate to be higher than mine. I'm sure a repair bot is valuable if the rest of the world is in the same condition as this base." Jack then heard the introduction of one named King. He then had his attention focused back to Instaurabo who noted about them forming a level of government. "A king? A monarchy sure is strange when it's robots that are in charge. I know of these terms because certain systematic forms of government and culture often depicted military rankings and troops. I would not yet get into a trusting 'mood' with robots that have been awakened much longer than us. Forming a government takes precise thought and time. I 'trust' you because you haven't had time to decide on what 'character' you should be...plus our chance of survival is substantially increased together. I believe we should leave. You check the back exit and get ready to run. One well placed grenade to the generator should give us a distraction to escape." Jack calculated many strategies he could use for the current situation and the one he spoke of seemed best to him. "Do we have an agreement or do you suggest a different tactical approach?"
