"Alright. Let's do this." I nodded to Sam before looking back towards Glenda. "Thank you, Glenda. We really appreciate it." I smiled, walking back towards the door and into the hallway. "I can't thank you enough." I finished and she smiled. "You're welcome. Now hurry. Get out of here." She shooed us away. She didn't have to tell me twice. I knew we had to go. I had no clue how much time we had left. I could only hope the others had done there part and got everything they were supposed to. If not, we might not make it out there.

The two bags in my hands were heavy, but reassuring as Daisy and I went back through the hallway. "How much did you find?" I asked her as we neared the doorway, the white walls slipping past us as we rushed by. I could only hope the others were safe, and if they were, that they were waiting for us. They could have gotten what they needed and bolted. We didn't know them, and they didn't know us, they had no obligations to keep.

"I found a lot actually." I said as we passed all the empty rooms and neared the exit doors. "A few inhalers, alcohol, cotton balls, bandages..." I drifted off. "The list goes on. We have enough to last us." I assured him. "And Glenda gave you enough supplies?" I asked, nodded towards the two bags he carried.

"Yeah, she was a big help. I told her to come with us, but-" I drifted off with a shake of my head and then sighed, moving on. "Great. This is good. We just need to get back to the fence and we can get out of here. Finally." I glanced over at Daisy with a smile, excitement and adrenaline pulsing through my veins. Only a little bit longer before we would be free.

"Yeah... Finally." I said as we reached the exit doors. I hesitated before slowly pushing them open and peeking my head out. So far, the coast was clear. I scanned my eyes across the yard before fully opening the door, revealing us to the outdoors. The guards from earlier were gone. There was no one in sight. "Looks like its safe." I said with a smile. "We should make a run for it."

"Yeah." I said as I got a glimpse out of the door past Daisy. "How long do you reckon it'll take us to get there?" I asked as I slipped both of the backpacks over a shoulder each, preparing myself for the dash we were about to make. They were heavy and the pain they were already causing me was excruciating, but there wasn't any time to feel sorry for myself. We had to go, and there wasn't anyone else to carry these bags. I had to face the fact that I wasn't going to be out of pain. We all had to carry things and the running wouldn't stop once we were past the fence line, we were running until we found somewhere safe... and who knew where that would be?

"If we run fast enough, we should make it in about two or three minutes. That's saying we don't stop for a small break or get stopped by someone else." I looked up at Sam then adjusted the back on my back. "If we break, it should take about five minutes." I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the sprint we were about to make. I'd probably burn my lungs out, but that would be better than staying in this crazy place.

I shook my head. "We don't need to take any breaks. We just need to get out of here." I said readying my self for what was to come.
"Let's go." I looked at Daisy and gave her a small reassuring smile, before stepping out the door slowly, checking to see if it was safe. There was no one about, I couldn't decide if that was strange or if we were just very lucky. Slowly, I began to walk, glancing over my shoulder to see if Daisy was following. "You ready?"

I nodded, adjusting my backpack once more as I followed closely behind Sam. "I'm ready." I took a deep breath. My nerves were on edge and my heart was already pounding through my chest. I hoped no one would catch us. I hoped the rest of the group was already there, waiting on us so we could all officially leave. "Let's do this." I looked at Sam and took off, running as fast as my legs could take me.

I ran off after her, not looking back as my legs carried me away from the infirmary and the woman who had helped us so much.
We were finally getting out of here, no more pit stops, no more detours. We were on the straight and narrow, all we had to do now was find a way to stick to it.

"Hey, where are you going!?" I heard a gruff voice call out to us. I had no clue where or who it was coming from but it just made me run even faster than I already was. "Stop!" I heard him call again. "Gabriel, we've got two runners!" The man yelled. He was calling for backup. This wouldn't end well if we got caught or if they found out where we were going. We'd only been running for at least a minute. We were almost there.
"Sam, we have to hurry!" I called behind me. Sam was right on my heels, following close behind. I was anxious and scared of what was going to happen next. I just knew once we were beyond that fence, we were safe. That's where I wanted to be.

I didn't respond, I was too focused on running as fast as I could. One step after the other. Every inch of my body was screaming at me to stop, but there was no way I could.
I could hear more men yelling and footsteps gathering behind us, but I didn't dare turn my head and look. If I tried I knew I would fall over with the loss of concentration. All we could do was run, the faster we were the better.

I could feel my heart pounding harder and harder as I pushed myself to keep going. The weight of the supply bag was beginning to slow me down and all I could think of is if I couldn't make it. We were almost there. The cabins concealing the fence were right in front of us. All we had to do was get behind them, go through the bushes, and through the fence.
"Sam, turn left!" Just a few more seconds and we were there. We'd be free from all this nonsense. Just a few more seconds and we'd disappear. Those guys would have no clue where we went.

I looked ahead as Daisy shouted to me. I hadn't quite heard her but as I saw what was ahead I knew exactly what she was saying. I veered left following her into the gap behind the cabins as we reached the fence. We were right on top of the bushes that sat in front of the hole now.
"You first." I said to Daisy, nudging her towards the hole as I glanced over my shoulder.
I could barely hear our pursuers over my own thumping heartbeat, but I knew they were close. It wouldn't be long before they figured out we had hidden instead of continuing to run.

I nodded, ducking down and moving small branches out of my way as I crawled through the bushes and through the hole. We'd still need to hide once we were behind the fence. Luckily, there were plenty of trees we could hide behind.
"Come on! Hurry up!" I hissed between hard breaths as I hopped to my feet. A small part of me was worried he wouldn't make it, but I knew he would. He had to. I held my hand out to him, waiting for his reach so I could pull him in. Time was the only thing that we had and it was quickly running out. The guards would be here soon.

Pulling the bags off of my shoulders, I shoved them through the bushes and into the hole in the fence. With one last glance behind me, I bent down and pushed aside branches and leaves, pulling myself through the hole, desperately trying to be as quick as I could. I didn't need those guards seeing my feet slide through the fence, we would never be safe after that.
I was through. Lifting my head, I saw Daisy's hand reaching out for me.
"Thanks." I huffed as I grabbed a hold of it, letting her help to pull me the rest of the way through.
"Okay. We need to hide." I said as I picked up the bags again, throwing them over my aching shoulders once more. "Have you seen the others?"

"I haven't seen them. They might be hiding though. We'll wait for them for a few minutes if we don't see them." I huffed and puffed as I quickly jogged towards the nearby trees. They could conceal us for the time being.
"Shit." I mumbled. "I can hear the guards getting closer." I quickened my pace until I was behind a big oak tree. I pressed my back against it's trunk and tried to control my breaths. I wasn't sure if they'd be able to hear me or not.

I followed her to the large tree, all while trying to scan the bushes and surrounding trees for a familiar face.
"We'll have to be quick, we can't wait for them forever." I whispered to her as we reached the tree. Hopefully it was big enough to hide the both of us, because I hadn't even thought about looking for my own tree to hide behind. By now it was too late.
"Fan out, they can't have gone far. Check every corner you see and every hiding spot you know. Let's go!" A rough voice called out and loud heavy footsteps followed.

I held my breath as I heard the guards nearby. They were searching for us but they'd never find us. Not unless one of them knew about the hole in the fence, which I doubted. The minutes that went by felt like hours before they left. But once they did, I let out a sigh of relief and reached into my pocket for my inhaler. I took two puffs and put it back.
"Now." I said after I collected all of my thoughts and my breath. "You're right. We can't wait forever." I hated to leave them. "So let's search for a few minutes and hope we see them or hope they come through that fence. If not, we're outta here."

I nodded. "Okay, sounds like a plan." I said as I shifted the bags on my shoulders, yet again. Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I stepped out from behind the tree and began searching the forest for them properly. I didn't want to call out though, it was far to risky after what had just happened. Being too loud could just bring those guards right back here.
