OC: Fushimi Saruhiko, K-ProjectName: Vlad Demur
Rank: 104th Trainees Graduate - Survey Corps
Age: Seventeen years old
Height: 178cm (5'10)
Personality: A cool-headed, relaxed teenager who is shown to be a rather apathetic individual, displaying a dislike in many things other than his sole interest of killing titans. He is a carefree pessimist, believing that there are no 'heroes' and surviving in the world could only come of the individual's own power and will. He is quick to dismiss any ridiculous claims that he hears from superstitious and inexperienced people or insults towards him, and would not hesitate to put them out of their place. Although he shows great promise and is quite intelligent, he seldom applies himself unless the situation direly requires him to do so. He is actually far more twisted and violent than he leads others to believe; he can be cruel and sadistic without any qualms towards a personal enemy of his, and especially when titans are involved, his bloodthirsty tendencies more than often get the best of him. Vlad is known to wear a wide grin with the tendency to laugh giddily when these feelings surface as a signal of its arrival. Because of this, some in his own squad fear his unpredictability and cruelty, as he holds no regret in the things he does and says, unconcerned about the 'hypocritical opinions of pigs'.
Despite this negative portion of his personality, Vlad is very attached to his few peers (notably Alex), willing to go to any extremes to maintain their safety and stability during an operation. Though he projects a tough exterior and gives off the feeling that he doesn't get along with people well like he used to be as a child, he is oblivious to the fact that he's actually quite a friendly person. His playful side is also among one of the pieces of his colorful personality that he now hides, seeming to be shrouded by an overhanging cloud of gloomy grief with a fierce lust for blood.
Changes in Appearance:- The most significant change is his leap in height as a result of his physical maturation (5'5 to 5'10).
- His blue hair has grown noticeably darker and longer, and is now kept in a wild and messy fashion.
- He has grown much more physically fit and now has a muscular build, though he maintains a thinner look compared to others.
- His skin tone has received a tanner complexion from constantly being outdoors during training, as opposed to his initial paler appearance.
Biography
Vlad Demur was the blue-haired, cerulean-eyed only son of Severance & Vera Demur. Severance is the Commander of the Survey Corps (though his mother had only told her son that he was just in the military, leading Vlad to believe that he was just a member of the Garrison) who had not intended to father his son and only looked at his relationship with Vera as a one-night stand. Vera was a leatherworker who raised her son without any paternal support, the two of them residing in an outlying village, called Sinclair, that was remotely located fifteen minutes away from Shiganshina District; they often visited to merch their wares, this being their sole source of income.
Vlad was teased by all of the other kids in both his village and the district because of his extremely close attachment to his mother and 'otherworldly features' such as his hair color and fashion, though his mother advised him that unless the titans somehow managed to somehow make its way through the walls and began wrecking havoc for the first time in a century, than there wasn't anything to cry about. Despite her advice, motherly protectiveness and unconditional love towards her son, he was only mired further both physically and mentally, even going so far as to saying that he would've rather lived outside with the titans than being tormented each day. He only left his house whenever the two would leave for Shiganshina, and overall, he was anti-social for the fourteen years of his life.
In time, Vlad's 'wish' would come true when the Colossal Titan appeared and breached Wall Maria. With a century-long hunger for humanity, the outer titans began to flock Shiganshina District. His mother had separated from Vlad, having left him to finish carrying in their wares to supply a general store, before the breach to visit the apothecary. The force of the Colossal Titan's mighty attack had caused a hurricane-like riptide to sear throughout the structures near the breach, which included the general store that the boy had been in. The store's glass display had shattered and the shards were prickled to his fingers, which would scar him later on. Knowing that humanity's bane had finally returned, he fled the general store and followed the crowd towards the inner gate, stopping to the side where he saw the apothecary trapped underneath debris who recognized him as Vera's son.
Though Vlad attempted to help the apothecary at first after learning that his mother had went ahead, he watched as a member of the Garrison futility tried to stop an advancing titan from homing in on the two, witnessing the way they devoured humans and prompting the boy to abandon the woman to use her as bait. It was at this time that a squad leader of the Garrison, known as Ajax, reeled in and saved him from the scenario, going against his orders of holding off the titans and carrying the boy to the inner gate. When the two landed on the roof of a church that overlooked the escape, the boy watched as the Garrison members stationed there fail to take out an Aberrant titan that had managed to kill and devour one human before they closed in to kill it with their 3D Gear - his mother.
Witnessing the death of his mother, Vlad criticized the Garrison's uselessness and paralleled it to humanity in a broad way, believing that it was only a matter of time when the 'survivors' would be next. Ajax gave the traumatized one line of advice as he dropped him off at a ferry headed for the district of Trost in Wall Rose, which was to be the change he wanted to see in the world. While on the boat to 'a slated death,' he underwent his first major personality change when he sees that the group of bullies including Varren Yinyues from his village had also made it out alive, wishing that they had been killed by the titans. Ajax's words would come into play when, two months after the breach and fall of Shiganshina, Vlad saves a girl named Alex Hirsch from the same group when they attempt to steal her ration of bread. Though he was beaten and bruised in the end, this triggered his motivation to enlist in the military, of which he did so briefly afterwards.
Vlad had always imagined himself at the top of the entire trainee class; he had a drive to prove to everyone that he was not weak, and that he wasn't a meaningless existence. During the 3D Gear's aptitiude test, he nearly failed when one of the two soldiers tasked with holding him up had let go too soon and caused the boy to fall back and slam his face into the ground, promptly raising him back up after a moment of derail from Charles Stronghold, the Drill Sergeant. Not wanting to become the laughing stock of everybody once more, he pulled his body back into the upright position from being upside down and demonstrated something that ordinary trainees wearing the gear for the first time were unable to do, showing great promise. This was also a moment of revelation for him when he realized that he hadn't enlisted for the good of humanity, but rather, he enlisted to slaughter the titans for himself. His first month getting acquainted with actual movements using the gear itself had been difficult, but through perseverance, he easily rose above the rest within no time and even impressed the Drill Sergeant himself on multiple occasions with his intelligence and multitude of advanced techniques involving the gear.
One year after his enlistment, Vlad was overjoyed to learn that the Commander of the Survey Corps would be present to spectate the trainees as they had a testing session with the gear where they were to work as a team, avoid traps, and 'kill' wooden 'titans'. Though he was naturally a person with not much qualities as a team player, he flaunted his pride in being the best of the class in terms of combat and sported a playful attitude towards this. Afterward, when the trainees were called back to meet the Commander himself, he was shocked to hear as the man introduced himself as Severance Demur, bearing both a strong resemblance to the boy and his surname. This was the moment when all of Vlad's anger erupted like none other; he proceeded to reel in and attack the Commander with his bare hands to no avail, spouting curses at the man as Severance only smiled. The Commander left with the Legion members that accompanied him, turning back to Vlad after agreeing with him that he wasn't his father and re-introducing himself as the Commander, two out of the five words only being audible: "Become stronger..."
This chance encounter with his father has greatly altered Vlad's personality into what it is now, two years later, and as the top ranking graduate synonymous to his dream at the beginning of enlistment and Severance's experience as a trainee seventeen years prior, Vlad Demur seeks to join the Survey Corps to exact his anger out on the titans.

Individual Instructor's Evaluation:
GRAD RANK: 1st
βDemonstrates a superiority in expertise over all aspects of the 3D Maneuver Gear above the entire class as a result of his iron motivation to improve, he is known by the entire 104th Trainee Squad as its dark horse because of his initially weak start. He is a military prodigy with intelligence that shows leadership potential, though he does not apply himself; his negative reception over assessing the situation and inclination towards a selfish independence puts him at a distance unsuited for effective cooperation. Despite this and past infractions, Vlad Demur deserves nothing short of top grades for his combat ability, and is worth more than one hundred soldiers. One of the finest trainees in our history, like his father.β

Age: Thirty-seven years old (after the three-year period of training)
Height: 200cm (6'5)

He is naturally well-spoken and maintains a professional profile at all times, even when accepting news that is either positive or negative, fully confident in fulfilling his objectives. Though he harbors a deep admiration and sense of trust towards the men and women under his command, he would not hesitate to send them to their deaths if he firmly believes that their sacrifices would benefit humanity, but he would go out of his way to lessen the amount of casualties by as much as possible. He is one who prefers to be at least two steps ahead of everybody, planning far ahead for the future and shrouding his true personal intentions.
Biography
Severance Demur was born on April 12th of Year 813 as an only son, raised in a middle-class family within the Wall Rose district of Karanese. His father, a weaponsmith, was a former associate who worked alongside Angel Altonen, a family friend and the credited inventor of the 3D Maneuver Gear. His mother was a member of the Survey Corps and among the select first to utilize the imperfect prototype of the gear. Because of his father's devoted assistance in the creation of humanity's invaluable asset in combating the Titans and his mother's ties to the military, Severance was orphaned at childbirth and was left under the impromptu care of his uncle, who was a butcher.
Severance was often teased by the town folk for being an orphan, but when he spectated the return of the Survey Corps from their latest expedition alongside his uncle who confirmed the death of his mother, he mustered the willpower to combat his demons and proved himself to be a strong, independent individual, awakening his motivation to join the military at the age of seventeen in Year 829 to vent off his frustration and be useful to humanity at the same time.
Severance was regarded as a prodigy within his trainee squad, placed in his own unique class of a soldier and receiving large amounts of praise from even the higher-ups. He graduated in Year 832 as the top ranking graduate within the squad, being approached by the current Commander Keith Shadis himself to join the Survey Corps. Alongside his fellow squad members that also followed him in selecting the branch of service, they celebrated his twentieth birthday during their night of respite. During this time, Severance had a fateful encounter with a woman named Vera of whom he ended up sleeping with, not thinking much of it and only seeing it as a one night stand though unknowingly impregnating her with his future son, Vlad.
Severance proved to be a valuable member of the Legion, climbing through the ranks as he survived one expedition to the next and eventually attaining the title of Squad Leader, becoming the unofficial third-in command of the Survey Corps. He was close friends with Keith Shadis and the second-in command, Erwin Smith, and thought of the two as his own brothers. Though, eight years into his service, Keith stepped down as the Commander and allowed Erwin to succeed him, promoting Severance to become the second-in command and becoming a Squad Leader after he deemed himself unfit to lead the Legion any further after breaking down after returning from a failed expedition. At this time, Erwin was still devising the Long Range Scouting Formation and had a rough outline drawn out on paper in his study, planning to implement it in a future operation after launching his trial expedition as the new Commander.
During this expedition, the close knit group of the three men were separated from the rest of the Legion as they entered the Forest of Giant Trees. Severance recalls that they were ambushed by a large number of Titans and, falling from his horse and atop of one of his blades that resulted in a severe leg injury, had fallen behind the other two and was about to be devoured. He states that Erwin and Keith doubled back and told him to order what was left of the Legion back to the walls, sacrificing their lives in the process of keeping Severance alive. Barely escaping on his own and now the surrogate leader, Severance did as he had been requested, and with almost the entire Legion decimated, he officially assumed the position of Commander in Year 840 and promised to carry on Erwin's short-lived legacy, completing the Long Range Scouting Formation in his steed. Although there was a considerable amount of controversy and public outcry concerning his youth (at the time, he was only twenty-eight years old), though he was quickly placed in a clear light as the one who would move humanity forward.
With five years as the Commander, Severance would soon find himself in a tough position of leadership during the breach of Wall Maria. Having returned to Shiganshina District recently from an expedition and with their numbers already lowered, he personally fought alongside the remaining members and was able to hold off the Titans long enough for most of the civilians to evacuate, but regretfully had to pull back as the number of Titans only got larger and the possibility of the Legion becoming overwhelmed increased astronomically. Yet, with the losses from holding off the breach until the civilians evacuated safely greater than the expedition losses itself, Severance maintained his composure and looks on to the next generation of graduates to pull humanity up from the depth that they have been pushed into, and is more confident in his ability to lead them forward to end the century of titan rule than any other time before.
