Tell us a little bit about your background "Well, I'm 23 years old. My birthdays November 18th. I'm a local. I grew up here in Boston and attended private school up until highschool, where I was shipped off to a boarding school in Vermont. I came back and attended college until last year- when I was scouted and contracted in to the company." What about your family and friends, can you tell us a little bit about them? "Oh well I lived with my dad before I went to boarding school. He's a lawyer. My mom lives down south somewhere, haven't heard much from her these past few years. She pushed me when I was little to start playing the piano. As for friends I have a few close ones- mostly from boarding school. Talia's my best friend and roommate. Jordan lives downtown with Castor. They're great and very supportive." That's nice. You mentioned your mother starting you off on the music path, can you delve a little more in to that? "Yeah of course! Well, my mom loved to look classy. It was an obsession of hers, really. Antiques and all that. Well what's classier than an eight year old playing piano? My teachers drilled me even up and through highschool- although at that point my dad was the one paying. I picked up the guitar my sophomore year. Its my favorite instrument to play. Before that I dabbled in a few others but really I've only stuck to piano, guitar, and the harp." Interesting. What are your musical inspirations? "Benjamin Grosvenor composes beautiful stuff. Less specifically my musical interests vary greatly- I listen to anything- except for country music. (She makes a face)" You mentioned dropping out of college? "Oh no! I haven't dropped out. I've just transferred. I'm taking business classes downtown, just as a fallback plan." Any other interests besides music? "I write a lot, I have this journal. I also draw. I hike and enjoy camping. I'm trying to learn how to cook and sew at the moment, too." Oh sounds like you're preparing to be a mother- are you dating anyone? "(She laughs) no- what? No. I'm just trying to become more independent. Buying out all the time's become boring, and expensive. And I want to learn how to sew so I can mend my clothes when they rip." What are your thoughts on love? "(She blushes!) I fall in love easily, actually. And when I fall I fall hard."

So, tell us a bit about yourself! "Oh. Um, well, I'm 23. I was born on April 8th, 1992. In Portland. Single mother, runaway father, no brothers or sisters. I went to NYU to pursue my dreams of becoming an artist, which was by an economical standpoint a horrible mistake because I am seriously deep in college debt at this point. But I learned a lot, y'know. I improved, and now I'm really good at what I do, so there's that. I was hired by the company because someone saw a billboard I did art for and called me up." Oh, my. Growing up with just your mother must have been hard, huh? It usually is. Did your friends understand? "Wow, that was rude. No, my mother was a really nice woman. She was kind, she was sweet, she took care of me. She made sure I always had food, and a bed to sleep in, and clothes. And she was funny, and she was the nicest woman I ever knew. As for friends, I don't see why they would even care. I had friends in school, and the I had friends in college, and now I'm just like most young adults and I don't have any friends, just people I talk to." I'm so sorry, I didnt mean to upset you. "Oh--wha--no. No, that's fine. Touchy subject, thats all." Are you sure? "Yeah, it's cool, it's fine. Next question?" Well, how did you discover that you wanted to be an artist? "Well, I grew up in Portland. There's like, fifty art galleries right by my house. My neighbor was an artist, too. He would have me do poses for him sometimes when I was little, and he would take my picture and paint it. And I thought it was so fucking cool how someone could take reality and just... recreate it on the page. And I really wanted to do that." But clearly your work is no longer inspired by that man who lived next door. You dont draw people. Who inspires you. "Mark Rothko, mainly. His works have such... emotion. Such depth. And Jackson Pollock. They were truly tortured souls, and they were able to just... perfectly, I mean perfectly express their inner demons on canvas. And then they moved past that and they expressed joy and sadness and life. Thats what I try to do with my art." Very interesting. Do you have any other interests? "Not really. I write a bit, sometimes, but very rarely." Oh, do you think you're any good? Can we expect to see a popular novel by Wallace Conlee any time soon? "Oh god, no, my writing is abysmal." Well, that's sad to hear. "Nah, it's okay. The writing world doesn't need another novelist. They have their hands full." And how do you feel about love? "Jesus, that came out of left field. Uh, I don't know. Love is... I dont know. I dont think you're supposed to know until you truly feel it. So... yeah, do with that what you will. Was that the last question?"
