This News thread is to raise support and player bases for the less-visited subforums. A description of each type for new players is provided. Please consider getting active in some of these if you are not already. I will update this post to include the latest subforums that need some community support. If you have anything that makes you not like any of these forums, post it! That way I can give advice on how to avoid or discredit a stereotype!
•Tabletop RP
Raise your hands if you hate math. *raises hand* How many of you think that this means you will hate tabletop? *slams hand down to the ground* You do not need to be a math nerd for 99.9999999999999999999999999999999% of tabletop. This is usually the major reason people don't get into tabletop. You really just have to know some basics. Bad writers who are great storytellers love this subforum because you can storyteller with a few statistics. This forum is for people who 89% profit growth is better than a para about skyrocketing technological grants and the bio of the lobbyists that are getting them.
On the flip side, great writers make great tabletop people! Even if you hate placing a number on things, you can still use a structured format to do almost anything that is possible. Tabletop is a great outlet for creativity!
Now, the reason people who love tabletop don't use RPG for finding games: RPG is not built for most popular tabletops. I must concur with this one. However, those people should still post interest checks. Also, most home-brew stat sets can work perfectly. If you can trust players with any dice rolls, things work fine for most things beyond DnD/PF. It is still a good idea for GMs/DMs to post ICks in the tabletop subforum. Then I recommend you take it to a different online roleplaying program built more exclusively for tabletop (many exist, my personal favorite is 'Roll20'). I usually brainstorm in an OOC thread here or a live chat. Many people still want to play these things, so it is always a good idea to post interest.
•Nation Role-play
I haven't the faintest idea why people do not like this as much as the others...
It is exceptional world building! You can play as a leader instead of a fighter, if that is your thing. If not, jump POVs! Because no singular character is exceptionally important, you can go up and down the spectrums of prince and pauper freely.
There is very little reason not to love this.
•The Gallery
Just check it out. Post some sketches. Ask for help to get better at those sketches. This is such a wonderful talent to supplement your roleplaying. Even a title image can work wonders! There are plenty of knowledgable and kind people that would more than happy to give you some pointers! I myself make custom maps for all my role-plays, but I am terrible with people.
