Would it be difficult to reintroduce editable font sizes?
Yeah, haven't touched BBCode since the first release. Need to. Also wanna remove underlines from the h1/h2/h3 tags or allow an option like [h1=underline]...[/h1] or make [u][h1]...[/h1][/u] look good.

Yeah. The list BBCode needs work in general. @BBeast pointed out a while back that it sucks with line-breaks, too. Needs to be looked at. Still recovering from BBCode/editor burnout though.

Yeah, I agree. Though, I can sympathize with you in the fact that working with text, which isn't really much of a "feature," gets dull quickly. Burnout are easy in that case.

<Snipped quote by Shienvien> Could you give an example? Here's a random OOC RP post from 1 year ago: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/2044 It goes to the second page of the OOC tab. Are you saying that you've found links to non-IC posts that always go to the IC tab?
Well, the link in this thread just links back to the thread itself, instead of the actual article link posted.

<Snipped quote by Mahz> Well, the link in this thread just links back to the thread itself, instead of the actual article link posted.
The raw-text of that link, for reference:
[Url] http://m.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/rome-fountain-permanently-damaged-by-drunken-dutch-soccer-fans/article23113746/?[/url]
When I hover over it, the url given is the same as the url I am on. Try below: http://m.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/rome-fountain-permanently-damaged-by-drunken-dutch-soccer-fans/article23113746/? However, I can see some errors in the BBCode. If we try this instead...
[url]http://m.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/rome-fountain-permanently-damaged-by-drunken-dutch-soccer-fans/article23113746/?[/url]
http://m.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/rome-fountain-permanently-damaged-by-drunken-dutch-soccer-fans/article23113746/? As that now works, the problem was simply incorrect BBCode. Note the lack of a space in the corrected url vs the space in front of the url in the faulty link. The whitespace clearly causes the link to be parsed incorrectly and thus it reverts to the current page.

*snip*
As much as I'd like to blame @Doivid for his revolting lack of attention to detail , the parser should be lenient enough to handle that issue. I'll take a look.

Here's an idea I've pitched before but just pitched again in response to @Ellri's suggestion: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/2435982 I'd like to work on the tag system this weekend (along with some features for the contest system). Could anyone help me come up with a list of genre tags so people can tag their roleplays and interest checks? There are some cool and non-invasive features I'd like to build on top of such a system. For one, I want to enhance interest check discoverability *and* the discoverability of other roleplayers that share your interests. I'd like to start with a small/conservative/general set of genre tags and then add more as necessary. Ideally I would allow arbitrary user tags and then add the popular user tags to the official tag system. But not til a basic mechanism is working that validates the effort.

Genres (this list is probably incomplete, but it's a good start):
  • Low Fantasy
  • High Fantasy
  • Modern Fantasy
  • Sci-Fi
  • Slice of Life
  • Mystery
  • Post-Apocalyptic
  • Steampunk
  • Cyberpunk
  • Superhero
  • Academy/School (possible overlap with Slice of Life)
General tags:
  • Original
  • Derivative (to be applied to roleplays based on a pre-existing universe, like Star Wars, Harry Potter or the Vampire Diaries; there's probably a better word for this)
  • 1x1
  • (Large, Small) Group
  • Nation
  • Tabletop
  • Mature (containing themes or content less suitable for minors)
  • Open
  • Recruiting
  • Closed (to be changed at will by the GM)

Don't forget to have hard and soft Sci-fi. Those are fairly major differences. Also: Vampire Werewolf Historic Alternate history Anime Canon non-canon newbie-friendly Elitist (not sure anyone would use this one, though)

Not to go with tag overload, but the fandom tags are likely to be the first of the user-generated stuff. Could be useful to have some popular fandom tags now.

Anime G PG R M Mature Novel Television Multiverse IRL Oh, and regards to coding, my last part that was shilled to me (required for my computer to function) was broken. So I'll try to load the system into my older device, which may or may not be able to handle it, while I wait for the new shipment.

The thing with fandom tags is the majority of them are very "flavour of the month", going in and out of style constantly.

Indeed. But like it or not, the tag system is going to become polluted with the flavor of the month tags anyway. I'd just as soon head off any misspellings or weird acronyms to standardize the tags starting in. But that's just me.

When building my computer, I sourced my parts from a place which I could drive to and arranged to pick them up in person. Saves on postage costs and on stress waiting for postage. That's something possibly worth looking in to in future. Back on topic, I don't have a whole host of tags, but I have figured out one to suggest.
  • Villain (players can play as the 'bad guys' rather than the 'heroes')

Legend may simply live in a place beyond the reach of proper electronics stores. I was at school when I built mine, and the nearest decent parts store was 3 hours away.

That will (almost inevitably) lead to people asking why "their" fandom isn't included.

I would agree. However, I needed a specific model that I can only order from the manufacturer directly.

Yes, it would take quite a few hours of driving to buy the equivalent.

Just wanted to ask, will fonts be introduced to the BBcode on the Guild?
