So how exactly will these missions pan out? Is it going to be like a Dungeons and Dragons-esque layout with our characters performing actions and the creator of that mission/GM overseeing it? If that is the case I say we open a private conversation group for each mission with all participating characters and the GM/Mission Creator. This way the GM/Mission Creator can talk to their groups to explain the scenario and state what happens to each character as their quest continues. We would discuss everything in the private conversation then post things on the ICC. For Example: --------------------- Private Conversation GM: So the scene for the mission is the cave. It is in a forest and the entrance is pretty secluded from civilization. Pure493: Rouen finds the cave at night. He enters it and turns on his torch. GM: You are immediately surrounded by insect-like creatures. They begin to attack you. Character 1: Rouen fights back with his sword. Character 2: Tahira finds the entrance to the cave and overhears fighting. She sees the figure of a man in trouble and runs to help him. Character 3: Kat follows Tahira and immediately identifies the man as Rouen. She hesitates but moves in to fight. ICC Thread Pure493- Rouen saw the cave in front of him. The moon was covered by clouds and not a single beam of light touched the ground. "Can't be too much trouble," he thought. He walked forward and entered the cave. "It is really dank and dark," he thought. He used a piece of phosphorous on a makeshift torch. He heard skittering noises and realized he wasn t alone. Quickly he lit a spark against a makeshift torch. When the spark caught he was suddenly aware of large bipedal insectoids around him. They bared their claws and pincers at him in a threatening manner. Their carapaces crackled with fury at the intruder. "Oh by the Goddess," he thought and reached for his sword------ Guilty Spark- Tahira walked down the dark road with Kat. As they approached what was the entrance of the cave they could hear fighting. "I sense something bad going on up there," she thought. As she walked forward she saw the lone-figure of a man fighting what seemed to be tall insect-like humanoids. "Kat, that man looks like he is in trouble we should help him!" she said and ran forward. Her hands glowed as she concentrated a spell. c3p-0h- Kat saw the man fighting and immediately recognized him as Rouen. "That knight can go die for all I care," she thought. She looked at Hal and he seemed to be itching to sink his jaws into those creatures. "Well I guess we should go do the right thing for once..." she thought and followed Tahira into battle. ------------------------------- Obviously the pm's will have more detailed discussions. I feel that this would prevent the OOC from being cluttered with discussions pertaining to each mission. This would also allow us to coordinate actions so we get continuity in the RP.

I'd rather we use Google Docs or Pirate Pad for collaborative writing instead of private convos, but I can use the PMs easily enough.

When it comes to collaborative writing on missions, I say just take the simple approach: discuss what should happen in a normal fashion, over whatever kind of private messaging system you prefer. Let's not make things too arbitrarily complicated, here.

Honestly, I prefer just winging it. The honor system is something I'd prefer to rely on, due to the spontaneous nature of what could happen rather than planning it out. Nevertheless... Sorry @The Patriarch, I had so much going on that I forgot. I'll post here shortly... kinda need to wake up a little more.
