I'm wondering if anyone is interested in an RP based off of the main campaign of the game Arma 2, Operation Harvest Red.
The game takes place in the fictional country of Chernarus, a post-soviet state currently undergoing a civil war. The Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ or Chedaki as they are known by the locals), a communist revolutionary group, staged a violent coup, catching the country’s military by surprise. The Chernarussian Defense Forces, poorly trained and armed with dated Soviet equipment, was quickly overrun by the rebels, allowing the ChDKZ to seize most of South Zagoria, the north-eastern province of Chernarus. The CDF government requested international support, and the United States deployed marines from the amphibious assault ship USS Khe Sanh as a "peacekeeping" force.
Unlike the game, which follows a team of United States Force Recon Marines, this will focus on infantrymen in the CDF. Players may also choose to play US marines deployed from the Khe Sanh, but I would prefer that most play as CDF personnel and Chernarussian Milita. Also, this will not follow the story of the Arma 2 campaign, and will not really have a set story, but it will be a sort of "sandbox" with the outcomes of each battle and decisions of the players determining what happens next. The outcomes of events aren't predetermined for the plot.
The roleplay will begin in early October of 2009. U.S. and CDF forces have secured Balota Airfield on the south coast, established a Forward Operating Base have pushed Chedaki forces away from the coast of South Zagoria.
