PersonalityNot very talkative, Sam was an especially shy child when growing up. Though he has long since grown out of the shyness, all that reminds is a sense of never ending introversion that causes him to stray away from conversation and likely zone out. There is no doubt that Sam is a dreamer and a very passionate one at that. He's a compassionate type of person and has mercy even for the wicked, which is seen as both weak and admirable -- Sam rather likes this aspect of his personality, however. As of late, however, Sam has been rather distant and detached from those around him. .
BiographyThe youngest of the Hays children, Sam had the tendency to live in his older sister's shadow while growing up. Though he never seemed to mind much and truly, he didn't. It was clear that his family had always meant the world to him, though this fact seems to have changed over time as he has grown increasingly distant from them. Maybe it had to do with the fact that his sister was disowned from the family or the death of his father after a recent mining accident.
Or perhaps it was something else. Not that it mattered now -- all that did was seeing the family ranch survive, even if the family itself didn't.

PersonalityAn outgoing, confident and bubbly girl. She tends to be the talk of the whole town, often in a negative way due to her foul mouth, tendency to drink excessively and inappropriate way of dressing. Headstrong and stubborn, she desires to see the world in a different perspective, mainly through travel. Rough and a bit cruel, she is often teased about never finding a man who can handle her in order to marry -- but she never seems to mind anyway.
BiographyThe eldest child of the Hays family, it was easy to tell that Mary would be a rebel from the start. Of course, if family relations weren't strained enough, it became even worse when she was disowned by her aggressive father at the age of twenty-two. Though the reasons for this exact happening are still unclear, it could be linked to many things: her refusal to learn any skills on the ranch or inside of the house, her blatant disrespectful for her parents and her "eccentric" fashion sense. Determined to survive on her own, Mary saw this more as a challenge than a mistake. Dreaming of traveling wide and far, she set off on horseback into the night.
As fate would have it, this escapade didn't last long. After her father was killed in a mining accident out of state, she caved in and returned home to assist her grieving mother and younger brother, who were left to take care of the ranch. Now, the only riding she does is around town to get groceries or stop by the saloon after a hard day's of work out in the fields tending to the crops.

Bio : Kate is the eldest daughter of a local farmer. She was born and raised in the same small town and hasn't traveled further out of the area but this means she spends a fair amount of time in town and knows most of it's residents, along with their gossip. She isn't one to start it but she is keen to listening for information that may be useful in the future.
Despite being raised a farm girl, she is sharp and quick witted. An intelligent person who is often either over looked due to her simplicity or underestimated because of her background. Kate accepts these perceptions of her though and has practiced being a good fly on the wall for business opportunities for her family or for any coming threat. It's proven to be a good strategy.
A couple years back, her father went missing after he left town to sell elsewhere. Many speak of his venture going wrong andleading to his death. Others say he was greedy man and fleed leaving his family behind. Nothing is for certain since he had been alone the whole time. Kate has accepted his death/disappearance and has since moved on.
Being the eldest and only child, she has taken over the family farm completely. Her mother has proven to be in depression since the news of her father and has not since come out of it. She often spends her days inside moping and sewing to pass the time. Kate has learned to leave her be and simply provides enough for both of them.

Bio : A wannabe sheriff. He lives in the shadows of his father and his grandfather, both known to be honourable law enforcers. Many people still look to them with respect despite retirement. Jack wants to live up to their expectations but those are big shoes to fill.
He has yet to even recieve the title. But that is due to his own flaws. While he seems couragous, good with a gun, and have good intentions, the man is oblivious to things going on around him and not to mention a coward despite his big talk.
Jack finds himself to be more of a pacifist and tends to avoid confrontation. This conflicts greatly with his dream and causes even more problems.
His parents have told him many times to just give up and find a different occupation, they even offered to support him in any choice he made. But Jack is stubborn and refused to let his father down. He is determined to be an even better sheriff than his father and grandfather. To which they both said "Good luck" to their cowardice family member.
Since then Jack has been traveling from town to town trying to over come his issue as well as make a name for himself. With the trouble that is currently stirring up, he is hoping to use this as a window for his big break.
