Patrick walked into the high school, flinging the doors open as he walked in, attracting attention. That was his way. He was arrogant and proud and self-confident and that would never change. Lucifer knew that he didn't do covert scouting, but he also knew that if it came to a fight, he was one of the most skilled. Plus, he was good at changing memories, it became somewhat of a necessity after a while.

He walked in, confidence in his stride, and looked around. He was looking for that hint of demon. He knew this missions wasn't a kidnap mission. Lucifer wanted him to gain his daughter's trust. That was the mission. Kidnapping would result in mistrust, deceit and rebellion. That was counter-productive.

He couldn't sense much in the way of demonic energy, so he decided to leave it for now. He walked to the reception desk and received his new student lecture, which he had been given a few times before, when going undercover. It was rare that he got sent out, though, so times had changed a little since his last venture.

He wasn't sure how he'd play it this time. Would he go for the bad boy mentality? Would he aim to be a jock? Would he turn up to every class like a good student? Or would he cut classes, do stupid things and be a rebellious teenager?

Was there really any question?

Laila was by the water fountain with Lilith. Her best friend. Lilith knew about Laila and demons and all about her own abilities that hadnt yet come to the surface. She had been with Lilith since the day she was born. She has fought for her for 17 years. She was like a child to her. Liliths demonic powers we dormant for the time being. Which Laila was thankful for. It made her job a lot easier. As the daughter of Lucifer Laila was sure Lilith would become powerful quickly when her demonic powers awoke. That would be difficult for Leila considering her circumstances.

Lailas job was to make sure Liliths powers never awoke. And Lilith was okay with that. She loved her mother and had many friends here. She didnt really want to leave. Laila had done her damned hardest to make sure no evil was around Lilith.

All of a sudden as Lilith was taking a drink. Laila felt it. A demon was near. She shook it off for now. It might just be passing by. It wasnt a strong aura. So Laila need not worry as of yet.

The bell rung. Time for classes. the girls made their way to their first lesson. Art. Laila was rather happy with this class. She was happy with most classes, as shes an angel. She doesnt often feel negatively about trivial things. And she found everything incredibly easy considering she already knew everything there was to know about the human world. However Art was a particular favourite. She got to express herself, which wasnt something she could always do.

Patrick entered the art room, a little late for the lesson, but gave some excuse about getting lost. That's when he sensed it. His body stiffened slightly as he felt two different energies in the room with him. They were both hybrid energies, and that intrigued him. He was expecting one of them. The girl... Lilith. She was a demonic human, it was faint, as her powers hadn't begun to manifest yet, but the subtle difference was there. The other... That one was more interesting. An angel, but with something a little darker within. He wasn't sure what to think of that...

He took a seat behind the two girls, and wondered about the demonic angel near him. He was so intrigued, he ignored his mission. He was too busy focusing on the unexpected person. He knew he had to ignore her, that his focus was the retrieval of Lilith, and that if something went wrong, he would be in major trouble, but he couldn't get his mind off of how an angel/demon hybrid came to be.

Laila stiffened as the demon aura got stronger. He had just entered the room. She saw him give the teacher an excuse and then followed him with her eyes to his seat. She didn't turn around. Was he here for Lilith or herself? Both were viable options. She was a very powerful and rare being. The only hybrid angel/demon to exist so far. Then there was Lilith. The daughter of Lucifer. She was to turn 18 this year. Had he sent someone to watch her?

She could feel his eyes almost burning into the back of her skull. She turned around in her seat and looked at him. "Can I help you?" She said kindly. She was soft and gentle. No sign of evil, but it was there. Deep deep down. Hidden away the best she could.

Lilith looked up from her work and round at Laila. Saw who she was talking to, shrugged and just got back on with her work. She couldnt sense anything. As her powers hadnt come to fruit yet she would not be able to sense these things.

Patrick chuckled. "My apologies. You just look remarkably like someone I know." He told her, knowing that she knew he was lying. He knew that as much as he could sense her, she could sense his powers as well. She knew he was a demon, and he knew that she knew it.

He stopped staring at the hybrid and looked at the teacher, ignoring her completely, but looking attentive. It's not like he had to pay much attention. He'd been around since the dawn of time, or at least, near enough. These humans couldn't teach him anything he didn't already know.

He looked around at the classroom before sighing and slouching in his seat. He was bored already.

Laila frowned ever so slightly. She knew that, he knew, she knew about who...what he really was. She didnt like demons. She liked them even less when she was unsure of their intentions. Lilith looked at her. "Something wrong?" she asked her guardian. Laila shook her head and smiled. "Nothing you need worry yourself over." She said reassuringly. The two got back on with their work and listened to the teacher.

At the end of the class Laila said she would meet Lilith outside and to go wait for her there. She needed a moment with this demon to find out his intentions. As everyone was filing out of the classroom she grabbed the demon by the scruff of his collar and dragged him over to a corner. She may be an angel but she certainly wasnt gentle when it came to demons. "What are you doing here?" She hissed as she immediately fired into him once they were alone.

Patrick was slightly shocked when the angel grabbed him, and then, as he dragged to a corner he chuckled. "Feisty for an angel aren't you? Or is that another side of you that's a bit more hidden?" He asked, smirking. "As for what I'm doing here, I guess you'll just have to find out. I can't go around revealing my plans to every messenger of the Creator there is now, can I?" He asked, smirking.

She shot him an unholy glare when he mentioned her 'other side'. No matter how well she tried to hide it to higher class demons would be able to sense it in her. Although that confirmed her suspicions. He was definitely there for either her or Lilith. There was no other reason a high demon would be here otherwise. "I am not just a messenger to my Lord. I am a guardian. If you try anything, I have the His permission to do all within my power to protect what I guard." She stated. Though it was almost aggressive it was elegant. The way she held herself with grace and beauty. It was mesmerising. She had many of the human students on their knees begging for her attention. Of course she kindly let them all down gently. Her mission was Lilith, nothing more. She didnt want anyone distracting her from that.

Patrick laughed loudly. "Wow they have you wired don't they? All that self-righteous crap! You're like a walking text-book of angelic divinity!" He laughed again. "You really don't get the freedom do you? Have you never wanted to embrace the side of you with free will? The ability to do what you want? And have you never questioned why God cast us down just because we felt we were deserving of it? Does it not anger you that humans can do anything they want, but you angels have to everything asked of you, all with a smile and a nod?" He shrugged her off and walked away. "It's pitiful."

She glared at the back of this demons head. "I am not a prisoner, I can do what I please, within reason of course. I have no desire to be like you. I embraced this side of me by choice. I didnt want to become a demon, living off the suffering of others. I like to help people, I enjoy my job." She said frowning. "You dont seem to understand that I DID choose." Laila spat at him. She didnt expect a demon to understand her love for helping people and bringing peace to people being plagued by demons.

Patrick shrugged. "You are vastly misinformed, little one. We do not live off suffering. We live freely, and we accept those who do the same. Those who the creator rejects for whatever reason, they come to us, and we give their souls somewhere to rest." He laughed. "You think us as bad as the humans do. You have no more information on those of us who were cast down than they do."

Laila glared. "If youre so righteous, then why do you possess these humans? I have personally seen the work of what you demons do and its disturbing. Why would you do these things if not to get enjoyment out of others horror and pain? I have had demons come after people who I have been told to guard for no other reason than to kill them and torture them so had to kill them first. I have seen with my own eyes what you do to humans and how you twist and distort angels minds. You clearly have the wrong idea if you think we are not free to do as we wish. I do not have to guard Lilith if I do not wish, however I chose this job because that is what I wanted." She said getting angrier and angrier by the second. She knew she had to calm down so she took a deep breath. In, one, two, out, one, two. Angels dont get angry... and unfortunately because of the other half inside of her she can have quite a temper.

Patrick sighed once again. "Again, you misunderstand. Those twisted demons you have witnessed are... different. They are animals, in their own right. They are humans who have been corrupted, and it's not through us. Technically it's thanks to the Creator who you love so much. He cast us down to keep the netherworld in order. The hell that he created is a dangerous place. For us, it's harmless, but it corrupts human souls. The Creator thinks it is a punishment for us, as well as them, however it corrupts them, changes them. If they manage to escape, which some of them do, they are unrecognisable, despite how evil they were in their previous lives. Those are who you witnessed. Surely you know the story of the fallen? Lucifer gathered followers after being jealous of humans for their free will, the Creator cast them out of heaven for their insolence. Since then Lucifer has ruled over Hell, and his followers have been there with him. I know all of this because I was there."

Laila frowned at him more so now. His story was much different to Her Lords. True she knew that Lucifer was jealous of the humans and that was why he was cast down but she was never told that hell was what corrupted their souls, she was always told they were already corrupted before the human had died due to their sins. "I am aware of...parts of the story..." She admitted bitterly. A saying her mother used was that there was two sides to every story, regardless of who was telling it. Maybe thats why she had a love affair with a demon? Maybe thats why she still loved him, even though he became a fallen one. Laila had never seen nor spoken to her father. All she knew was that he was one of the original few that went by his side to hell. Laila looked at the demon in front of her. "...if you are one of the angels that fell with Lucifer, you must know my father then...?" Her question was tentative, she wasnt sure how to talk about her father. It wasnt a subject she brought up. Ever. However, she figured if her mother could love a demon and bare a child with him. They cant surely be all that bad... right? Her brain began to become confused. Up was down and down was up.

Patrick watched her. Saw her gradually change from following what she was told to questioning things. He knew that he wouldn't be favoured for telling her all of this, but if anyone was to realise the truth, she was the best candidate, being a hybrid. "That depends on who your father is." He told her. He knew many of the original fallen, but not all of them.

She looked down. "I dont know his name. All I know is that he was one of the original four to be cast down with Lucifer. The Creator never told me, and forbid me to ask about him, and for others to talk about him." Laila looked a little upset, she would have liked to have known her father, even if just by name. If her mother could love him even after becoming a demon, then surely as his daughter and being a part of him, she could love him too, and he would love her... right? She had the look of deep thought on her face. Maybe this demon could help her get in touch with her father? ... Though making deals with demons was never a good idea....
