I'm just going to leave it here then. I don't think there is a way to add people to already created chats, which is a shame.

Any additions, corrections and modifications are very welcome. Name for the world is Arcania though I think it's a bit unoriginal so if you have a better idea that would be great. Ancients are deities of old days. Emberfall is a name I came up with for another city famous for mines, ores and craftsmen. Feel free to rephrase anything if you have a better idea.

These suggestions are only apllicable to the Undead sort of vampire. So if no one is cool with these suggestions we can omit and modify them to fit a different breed of vamp that satisfies everyone.

With a healthy diet of blood, they might not even need make up, since our lively glow stems mostly from the blood in our veins. They feed on blood for their survival but its also a great way to appear more human, thus successfully luring in more prey.

There can be several other instances in which vampires can give themselves away to the keen eye of the living(Those members of The Order could be trained to search for these signs once the information makes itself present in game):

Underfed Vampires would show more symptoms of the undead: pale, glossy eyes, maybe not as strong as their well fed counter parts, lethargy(sluggish even by human standards), stiffness. Etc. etc.

Another way to identify vampiers could be scent. Vampires are Undead, lacking in blood, a poor diet results in body odor reminiscent of decay. Since bloat is what occurs first in decaying humans, they'd stink from the inside out. So putrid gaseous breath could be the first major indication of Decay. But this is usually in the case of the extremely emaciated.

A vampire who has not honed in their skill of hunting and luring in prey (Charisma and/or stealth) could wind up exhibiting these symptoms. They'd behave a certain way as well, since they're more likely to be hungry. The behavior of any starved individual can vary (i.e. be left up to the player ;) )

Also a class distinction could develop since those in organized covens would be backed with unified support and a steady source of blood. Outcasts, loners, or the generally uneducated would have a harder time of it and give themselves up to The Order easier. (Or be culled by those higher ups that want to keep their species under wraps and avoid a lowly starving chump to give them away).

As extensive as this is, I like @Xilaw's idea to keep most of this info obscure to the humans in this setting. With that being said, only vampires would have access to certain clusters of info and only long standing established Covens would have the most in bulk. If there are any humans who would know this info regarding vampires, it'd have to be those who have been in close quarters with them (Donors?).

If anyone has other suggestions, be my guest.

@Menick Good input. I will add it to the Hunter's guide along with a few other things I thought of, like what we know bout their society, which I think is important. I will leave it vague enough to expand the knowledge on them during the RP.

Next in line are the werewolves and I had some ideas to start with.

I'm greatly interested in this one! Seems like it would be a blast, I'm a lover of steam-punk and the supernatural, I have a lot of experience with role-plays and creating the correct scenes to bring in true emotion and "Grit" to a roleplay, I would suspect that you would like the world of this role-play to be rather dark in nature, very much like the game was!

If you would like any help getting it off the ground, just feel free to ask me for some help and advice :)

@OrangeInk Awesome! I think its gonna be pretty grim, too. I'm kinda worried I'll make my characters too soft for the world they'll need to adapt to. I'm excited for it, nonetheless.

@Xilaw Thanks! ^__^ What did you have in mind for them? I remember you saying that you liked the whole lycan aspect, using my profile photo as a reference. Though I know you didn't mean we should liken every wolf to mine, jfc.

@Menick Something dark would be awesome, lots of blood and gore would fit the style well, dark alleyways and some real aspects of horror would be a plus :)

- Also! In terms of style, I like to look at this reference for the type of lycans/beasts we could use, this style from harry potter is interesting!

@OrangeInk Bluh! HP werewolves ain't jack shit on the Underworld lycans! =P
(Although the Van Helsing werewolves were fuckin crazy good. AND Wolfman(2010))

To make my point, here's some of the best shapeshifting your eyes have never been graced with before now.

@Menick Okay I'll admit, that's more like it :)

So have you guys decided on location, plot, the name of the group? Some back story?
I'm thinking that you honestly can't beat Victorian London.

lets see... we got The US during the turn of the century....lot of lovecraftian stuff set around that era...nothing like an eldritch town to have creatures . then we got Paris with their Catacombs hiding who knows what ancient and terrifying horrors dwell in the darkness of that place. Depends on how you feel I guess.

I'm not quite sure yet, but I was thinking they'd be in a loose confederation of werewolf packs, with alphas, betas and gammas as a hierarchy of their society. The packs range anywhere from 3 to 10 with one Alpha and rest are Betas. Gammas are the outlaws, either thrown away by other members or lone survivor of a pack.
These packs get together only when threatened by a third party - The Order or the Vampires. Occasionally they fight each others over territory as well.
Their appearance, in my opinion at least, should be the classic werewolf like the ones in Underworld.

Ways to identify them:
1) They have a special kind of odor that only a trained human nose can detect which gives away a werewolf.
2) Their body temperature is a bit higher than an average human and on touch can feel like the person has a fever.

Ways to kill them:
1) Anything coated in wolfsbane does the trick (silver bullets are coated with it as a standard), but it takes more than one to kill a werewolf.
2) Decapitation - very difficult in hand to hand so the tactic would be to hit the werewolf with wolfsbane and weaken him before giving a finishing blow.
3) Fire. Much like against vampires, fire can be used to slow them down and weaken them, however it cannot directly kill them because of their fast regeneration.

Their traits: Very tall with very sharp senses of smell, sight and hearing. They can jump high and climb trees with ease, proving to be quite a troublesome adversary, especially in the woods. Their physical strength is greater than that of the vampires but they're effectively slower because of their massive body.

Haven't yet made a back story for them. Any additional things to add to what I've come up with are welcome.
Also, the location can just as well be a fantasy place. Glasshour city is too good to pass down for London

Honestly a back story isn't entirely necessary. Once we've got the gist of the lore surrounding the creatures, we become the back story.

The actions of our characters create a history to go by. If the wolves don't have an outstanding role in this universe thus far besides being a nuisance to humanity and Vampires alike, so be it. Our characters can initiate a change.

On the wolves: I think that because the wolves are able to go between quadrupedal and bipedal stances, they'd be sorta faster. I get what you mean about their size being a factor so I suppose they may not be as nimble as the vampires.

Remember, wolves have always been the Vampires nemesis because they were the only organisms that could rival (and kill) vampires. So that could be the underlying reason for vamps to want wolves eradicated.

As for external indicators for wolves, why not make their eyes glow in the dark, as well?

I suppose so. But I'm leaving the city tomorrow for one day. I'm going to visit some friends at their uni so I won't be on at all tomorrow. Sunday or Monday for sure, I will start working on the RP itself. I just need to know people who declared interest are still interested.

Nothing in particular. We laid down a basis for the werewolf. What's next is that I will work on the RP itself once I get back from my trip. I just asked for reassurance that all those who previously declared interest in the RP are still in.
