Hello there, I have got a little topic I would like to ask about. In particular it is in regards to fictional/creative systems and their place in the RPG Forum. I am currently constructing an in-depth magic system article that will serve as an 'outside' source for explaining magic in some advanced RP's I hope to start up, I wish to post this in-depth article in a place that would leave it open for other users to use in their own RP's, should they find it interesting enough. So I was originally working under the assumption of posting it in the 'Articles & Guides' sub-forum.

However, the threads in the articles & guides sub-forum are all aimed for a more grounded reading, they deal with out of character concepts and methods of writing rather than a rigid creative system design purely for in-character purposes, or so I have found so far. So I was wondering if that section would be the right place to post such an article, or should I seclude it to the Gallery section, as it is a fictional system and literary work of my own design?

I've read quite a few articles in the articles & guides sub-forum and I'm sure I could structure my own article in a manner that may fit in with the feel and tone of a lot of the articles that exist there. I am just concerned that I may be foolishly/ignorantly posting a mountain of work into the wrong section.

To clarify; I wish to write an in-depth article informing readers about a very specific magic system of my own design and I am unsure if this would be out of place in the 'Articles & Guides' sub-forum. Does such a post better belong to 'The Gallery' section, as it is more of a literary work as well as a guide?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm kind of nervous about posting in the wrong area as a new user.

I think as long as you are intending/encouraging others to use it you could certainly put it in articles. But Gallery works too if that makes you more comfortable.

You should go for it! We could really use some more material in there from the community and a new thread or two in there might encourage more people who might also be on the fence of getting a guide of some sort up.
