Eden climbed onto the train, and walked down the corridor. She arrived to her favorite compartment, the compartment she always rode in every year. She opened the sliding door and scowled when she laid her eyes on someone in her compartment. It was a guy around her same age and she honestly didn't have the patience to deal with him.
"Scram, shithead." Eden hissed and guy grabbed his trunk with an annoyed sigh and pushed past her, his shoulder bumping against hers. "Hey! Watch the jacket." Annoyed, Eden brushed her leather jacket off and sat on a seat near the window.
A couple minutes later, the guy came back with an irritated expression on his face. "There are no open compartments." He muttered, sitting across from her.
Silence swathed the duo, Eden scowling at having company, and the mysterious guy thinking heavily of what to do in this situation. On one hand, he could ignore her and read in the thick tension, on the other hand he could introduce himself and become friends with her. The guy took in a deep breath and forced a smile, shoving his hand out into the open air.
"Hello, I'm Alfie Saunders!" He said with chipper. Eden glanced towards him from the window she was sulking at and she frowned at him. When she didn't answer, Alfie prompted, "What's your name?"
With a disgruntled frown, Eden muttered, "Eden Carter."
