Alright guys the wait is over, it's time for history to be made. This is the match lineup for our first show, which will feature a tournament for the GPW World Heavyweight Championship. It will be an eight-man single elimination tournament, and you will have up to five days to complete you promos for this event. If you would like your wrestler to employ a particular strategy in their match or you have a storyline suggestion, feel free to PM me within that time frame. Since this is our first look at your character, make this an introductory RP that helps us really get to know you. Don't just talk about beating your first round opponent, talk about going the distance and winning the tournament. Show us why your wrestler deserves to be called the World Heavyweight Champion when it's all said and done.

I will be posting a "pre-show" in the IC section at some point in the next few days that will introduce our GPW commentary team. They will be breaking down the tournament, providing insight to the matches and offering their predictions.

Minor question regarding the promos, but should we assume they occur in the weeks preceding the tournament show? And, more importantly, is there any restriction as to what kind of promo we use? IE: Vignette, press conference, etc? I ask purely because I've got a few ideas in mind.

Your promos would be aired in the weeks building up to the event, on GPW.com and such. And there are no restrictions on what kinds of promos to use, be as creative as possible! I think it would be cool to see Kintaro's promo incorporate footage of some of his matches from Japan.

Btw @Jordan you can post Mark Clifton in the Char section.

The matches are decided by three main criteria:
1. The quality of your promos.
2. The direction the story needs to head.
3. The players. If they have an idea for a finish they both agree on.

At the end of the day, it's up to me as the booker to make the call on who goes over. But it's also my job to keep every wrestler looking as strong as possible. Stone Cold Steve Austin lost to Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13 and his career benefited from it greatly. It's wrestling, so naturally somebody has to win and somebody has to lose (usually), but try not to get too caught up on wins and losses. It's about telling a story, everyone will take a loss at some point.

Well this should be a lot of fun!

Haha, I guess that's true! I'm honestly considering just doing a workout promo like Rusev's for wrestlemania... but at the sametime, might as well make the mouthpiece earn his check.

What do you have in mind?

Basically Kind of show a small clip of his first match or something from when he entered almost a year ago to teaming up Clifton while his voice is talking about how he's made it this far in such a short amount of time, how Clifton chose him for a reason and he'd prove that he wasn't a waste of time by beating him in the first round and continue on to become champion and show the world his greatness or something lol. Obviously a lot lengthier as well!

It's not a live show. THe promos take place before the event and are used to hype the matches and build stories, then once all of the promos have been written I will post the results of the event in the form of a wrestling television broadcast.

You can reference matches from house shows, but every televised match that happens in GPW will be booked on a show that I post the lineup for. We are starting off with a big PPV event with this tournament, but after that there will be a weekly show similar to Monday Night RAW.

Just for the record, I like to think that the reason Rebecca shivered in disgust at mentioning Sexton is because she has interviewed him at some point. From what I understand of Sexton, being viewed as a slug by female reporters would be fairly common.

Hmmmm I kind of want to wait till other people have their promo's up so that I can have my guy insult them all or something haha. I dunno 100% what I'm doing yet though so maybe not...
