Yes, that seems like it would work best. As far as any exposed skin goes - I suggest a ghostly pale, since we already have a very ethereal-like appearance, something porcelain-esque would go well with it.

Yeah, I like that. Keep it ethereal, remind these guys that we're not of this world.

On to other concerns, I suggest we start with improving our cerebral and intellectual power first as much as possible.

What if we just go invisible? Than nobody will be able to say what our form is.

Unlikely, they already announced our presence when we were summoned. It would be unlikely that they would believe nothing was summoned and if we remained invisible they would most likely banish us as a safety precaution

Just going to throw a few points out about the group who created/summoned you.

1) They know you were summoned.
2) Short of killing them all, they will worship you.
3) This group doesn't particularly care what form you take.

The old man gives a low bow and and begins cleaning away the pentagram and symbols from around us. As each line is erased, we feel our limbs becoming more free and power rushing to us. Our mind expands and we can sense more then before, we even begin to hear into the old man's mind faintly. In another room we can hear people, both voices and minds, excited and nervous about who their new god might be.

Finished with his task, the old man picks up an old oak cane and begins guiding you to the door out of the room. As you get closer, you realize the voices you heard are coming from the other side. Your people must be await you. The old man's next words confirm this.

"My lord, there are only around 40 of us and we are all from different backgrounds, mostly high wealth families, but we all have gathered for a similar cause. We are unhappy with our current lives and seek something higher, something more true. You are that truth. We have all pledged ourselves to you and whatever cause you may lead.

Your people await you in the next room. They know you have arrived, I alerted them before you gained consciousness, but that is all. They are expecting a speech or a display or power. They don't doubt you, but they seek only confirmation. How you proceed is up to you."

With that he throws open the door.



OK, we have achieved lift off with the first official update. Just a few things I want to clarify.

-This is basically a rich fellows club of dissatisfied families. Not a ton of young people, mostly middle age and older couples and singles. They've pooled their wealth for your use. Use it as you will.

-For the next post you only really need to come up with some kind of speech or display of power. You don't need to write an actual speech, but just give me an idea what you'd talk about.

This will be the first point where we'll have to put a personality on display. While we still don't really need to pick what we want to be a god of, we'll need to start making some decisions in regards to tone here. Do we want to be good? Evil? Stern? Forgiving? Aggressive? Motherly? These are choices we need to make. While we don't need to pick what we're a god of quite yet, it may be advantageous to us to explore what direction we want to go with for that, since that could help narrow down the tone we wish to take.

I personally think that we should go with a sort of tone that befits our image. Something quietly powerful, words calm, direct, and invigorating. We do not need to scream and throw around power to make them pleased; auras are something that people can't really see, but I think that they can feel it...and our aura should be one of power, composure, and utter calmness. We look down on possible enemies with an apathetic, cold stare that would make them bow before us, so that we don't even have to waste time, while we treat our allies and servants to a calm leader that won't flinch, our words filling them with moral and calming any doubts. That's my thoughts on the matter.

I was given form by the Summoner. I will gift you all with the forms you need for immortality and eternal youth. The Summoner himself will one day receive a boon befitting that of his service and devotion in addition to his youth and endless days.

Again, I feel like we should have some thought put in to what direction we want to go into. If we wanted to be a motherly sun goddess for example (which has plenty of room for violence, think a mother bear protecting her cubs but with the force of a star) then we would want to adopt a warmer tone. Being apathetic and cold to our foes is one thing, but it could potentially win us many more converts if we face defeated enemies with forgiveness and compassion, an almost motherly figure who sees their retaliation as childish lashing out. With such a personality, resisting would feel almost like resisting a loving parent, and would make it more difficult.

A colder god could be more intimidating to their foes, but would likely result in less converts among them. I'm not saying that one is better than the other, simply that that's what the tradeoff would be.

Let's be Mercurial in personality. It would give us some leverage without us being just a clandestine freak and an opportunist.

But wouldn't that make us seem unhinged and unreliable?

Personally I'm not in favor of a mercurial personality, I would rather maintain an attitude that is reliable through positive and negative events. Whether that attitude is good or evil is an entirely other discussion. I would, if given the choice, lean towards a more matriarchal tone, where the faithful are praised like obedient children and the dissenters are treated with sorrow and compassion and the hope that they will see the error of their ways. I just see it as a more effective way forwards, better for disarming our foes and adding numbers to those who follow us.
