I work for an audiobook company but somehow I can never find anything to read.

I enjoy mystery, thriller, paranormal (but for the love of god not shitty YA shit), fantasy, historical, stuff like that.

Stuff I have read, really enjoyed, would love to read more like:

- The Night Circus (Erin Morgenstern)
- A Pleasure and a Calling (Phil Hogan)
- The Thirteenth Tale (Diane Setterfield)
- Savage Girl (Jean Zimmerman)
- The Swan Thieves (Elizabeth Kostova)
- The Magician (Lev Grossman)
- anything by Brandon Sanderson. He's the fucking God of modern, entertaining, character driven sci-fi/fantasy as far as I'm concerned. (Mistborn Trilogy, Warbreaker, Elantris, Steelheart, Firefight, Legion, etc.)

Anyone read anything good recently? I'm looking for something new.

Atlanta Nights
The Eye of Argon
The Gor Saga

For serious recommendations: Max Gladstone. He has a bit of a problem with "show, not tell" but the world he's created with the Craft Cycle is rich, intricate, and imaginative. Three Parts Dead is good, Two Serpents Rise blows it out of the water, and I don't know much about Full Fathom Five, but what little I've read was good.

I hear awesome things about the Wheel of Time saga. Sanderson finished it after Jordan died, so should be in the same vein.

I also really enjoyed David Eddings' work when I was a bit younger, though I dunno how well it translates to a slightly older audience.

EDIT: I'm assuming you've read ASoIaF

Guards Guards! by Terry Pratchett is pretty good.
American Psycho is brilliant
The Flashman series is a masterpiece
Transmetropolitan is the best comic around if you're looking for them.

The Night Angel trilogy, by Brent Weeks (The Way of Shadows, Shadow's Edge, Beyond the Shadows)

A personal favorite series, and would highly recommend any of Week's works to those wanting something to read. His style tends to be dark, and crosses a lot of lines, but the stories suck you in and keep you reading anyway.

Malazan Book of the Fallen. Ten books in the main series, then another 6 written by the guy who helped him create the Malazan world - and are considered canonical to the ten in the main series. best fantasy series I've ever read, and that's coming from someone who loved Dragonlance.
