The land east of the great mountains, the land of Kedige, is not a forgiving one. Its winters bring starvation; its summers bring fires fiercer than the strongest grizzly. The wolves who reside in the foothills and on the slopes are brave, or maybe foolish, simply for choosing to exist there, but it has been this way for generations. Naturally, the demanding lives led by the inhabitants have bred strong and courageous wolves, wolves with good hearts who will defend their packs and their lands, even to the gruesome painful death.

Also, though, the land of Kedige has bred wolves with seething hatred toward packs not their own. There are three large packs who roam here: the Uutar:the Ones of the Scree, the Eirir: the Ones of the Hills, and the Rretili: the Ones of the Spruce. All share borders with each other, and all occasionally fight bloodily to get the choicest hunting grounds. This has been the way for as long as anyone can remember. However, this way is about to change.

The fire season has become longer. Bears and mountain lions are thriving. The wind makes the trunks of the trees groan menacingly and rockslides seem never to end. These are the signs of the change. Packs will splinter. Wolves will die. The wolves of each pack will coalesce, and either their hatred will kill them or their good hearts will save them.

TL;DR: You're from one of three wolf packs that hate each others' guts. Bad things happen to each pack (famine, disaster, whatever) and force members from each to join together and survive.

Sweet, I like that we have a tough environment. It kinda reminds me of Lion King, how the Outlands had dead trees and such. Plus it adds a nice challenge to the plot

Would you mind posting in the OOC tab first before moving to the character tab? Also, I guess I should have clarified this but the setting I had in mind was more of a North American temperate zone, hence the spruce and all that, and the species I was thinking was the gray wolf.

I was talking about the spots that got burned with fires, since all the grass and everything would be practically destroyed, I wasn't meaning the entire setting. I used a Maned wolf because it fits the stealthy aspect, I didn't know we were supposed to only stick with one species. Most of the Rps I've been in allowed odd wolf types.

Name: DeadWood

Pack: The Rretili

Gender: Female

Age: 2 years

Personality: DeadWood is highly observative, while watching or even talking with someone she will take note of their body language, whether it be small ear flicks or large tail whips. She is quite manipulative aswell, often making friendships just to benefit herself, she can easily fake a happy-go-lucky persona all the way to a depressed emotionally-injured persona and everything in-between. Her real dark personality often shows when in the face of life-or-death between her and another wolf. When she does find someone that is 'worth' her kindness, she will defend them no matter what, but if she is betrayed, her wrath goes beyond the anger of a mountain lion and possibly to the point of complete insanity.



Appearance: DeadWood is a Maned wolf, but a genetic mutation caused her to be born with black and white fur instead of the natural orange, white, and black (A maned wolf has the standard fox-like colored fur, basically her fur is colored like a silver fox's) She has the usual stature of a Maned wolf, long, tall, lanky, and thin. Her ears are large with black tufts at the tips. Her eyes are a yellow-green color and her claws and canines are slightly longer than normal. She is mainly built for speed, stealth, and tracking, not strength.

Other: DeadWood was out tracking an odd scent in the territory with the pack and suddenly gunshots were fired, she bolted in a random direction while the others scattered. She ended up running into a part of the forest that she had never been to, which was covered in ashes from a fire about a week ago and mainly consisted of burnt trees and thorn bushes.

It's pretty unique and I like that aspect. I'll accept. ^^

Name: Thasia

Pack: Rretili

Gender: Female

Age: Young Adult

Personality: Thasia is not an overly social member of her pack, preferring instead to keep quiet and observe those around her. She has a kind heart, but the environment she was brought up in quickly taught her to guard it fiercely. The only one to breach it's perimeter is her son, Thao. As a mother, she is unparalleled. The care and love she devotes to her son is over and beyond what is expected of her. She teaches her son all she knows in order to give him the best chance of survival in the harsh world they live in. Being smaller than her counterparts, she is not often chosen for hunting parties. However, her smaller size gives her an edge. She can pass from shadow to shadow unseen and undetected by all. Her light-footedness (or light-pawedness if you prefer) doubles with her ability to climb and scale most obstacles she comes up against.

Appearance:
Thasia has the stealth that is associated with her pack and has the ability to move through the shadows undetected. However, she is uncharacteristically small in size and stature. The only other distinguishing feature from any other wolf she has, as her markings are unremarkable, is that her tailed is cropped from an accident when she was younger.

Other: Thao is her son. Father unknown. (Though would be interesting if he was from another pack. If anyone wants to run with that idea and be the father, that'd be cool).

Thasia and her son are separated from the pack by hunters. Thasia cries out a warning to others that might be nearby and quickly steers her son away from harm, however they are pursued by the hunters for quite some time. Knowing that she cannot endanger the pack by going back to the heart of their territory, Thasia heads in unknown and unchartered regions.

Pack: Rretili

Gender: Male

Age: Pup

Personality: Thao has the boundless energy and playful spirit associated with any young pup. He is eager to learn and please his mother. He hopes to one day be an asset to the pack. Whereas his mother shies away social interactions, Thao has a knack for making friends wherever he goes. Even the older and grouchier members of the pack seem to like him.

Appearance:
Thao is slightly redder than the average wolf from the pack, which judging from his mother's typical colouring, must be something he inherited from his father. Furthermore, though he is young, it is plain to all that he will be of large size and stature when he is a fully grown adult.

Name:Biltan

Pack:The Eirir

Gender:Male

Age:5 years old

Personality: Biltan is rebellious, though respected for he is one of the fastest or the Eirir.
He is fairly adventurous, commonly drifting off from the pack from time to time, exploring new smells and marking his territory.
He has many attributes of a hermit, he is very territorial and will keep his territory to only select members of his fellow pack members.
Biltan plays rough with member of his pack and finds amusement by getting into trouble, that is when he is with the pack.
Biltan is very dominant over the more mellow members of the pack usually commanding the hunts (Though he is not packmaster).

Biltan and his troublemaker personality; got himself into a one night stand with a beautiful wolf from the opposing pack whom he does not know (Thasia) thus being Thao's father, though that is the last thing on his mind these days.

He has several injuries that havent quite healed properly:

- A broken foot with several claws missing and deformed paws (though it does not affect his speed)
- Sections of his right ear are missing (presumably bitten off by another wolf)
- A deformed abdomen, the result of several broken ribs.

Both are accepted. The whole one-night stand will add a very interesting element to the story.

You are welcome to be Thao's father as long as Thasia can be the one who bit Biltan's ear off. Deal? :)

Depending on the time of year, wolves in the same pack can spend time apart from each other.

Name: Jalil (Jal)
Pack: The Uutar
Gender: Male
Age: 1 1/2 years old

Personality: In the Uutar pack, his mother had drilled it into him almost from the second he was born: Blood first. Protect the pack. And never, ever trust anyone but your blood. Jal has the first point down, as he's fiercely loyal, and would die for any member of his pack. But try as he might, he just can't shake his want to explore and discover, and gain the quiet reserved nature of his older pack members. He's neither overly submissive nor dominant, and despite not having a deep love for fighting, he will attack viciously if he thinks his pack or himself is in danger.

Other: He's very sure footed and good at climbing, as well as good at running, which came from navigating the crumbling scree as a pup.
