I actually need some help writing the story for this idea, as it just came to me and I really want to do it. I just can't seem to come up with a good intro story, but I can handle just about everything else. Though that doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate help with the other stuff.

-if you'd like to help with my little story writing problem, please PM me. If more than one person PMs me with intro stories, I'll more than likely mix and match the ideas.

Anyways...the main idea of this RP is that, in a slightly distant future, our world has been overrun with either embodied nightmares, or the forces of Hell, or...well...both. However after this evil entered into our world, all humans who survived "The First Day" were granted magical powers. Now, using the combined forces of technology and magic, the last of the humans continue to fight back against the forces of evil.

Main inspiration:
The video game "Hellgate: London"

Sounds like it could be interesting. However, are you looking for a broad scoped type RP where we are all just inhabitants of this world? Or are you looking to make an RP with a small group of players working towards goals/arcs?

Regardless, you have my attention.

@JurassicHole Nice name

And it would most definitely follow a small group of players. It's easier to manage and interact that way, in my opinion.

Now whether or not we travel is something to consider.

Thank you sir.

I agree with that, as time and time again I see RP's collapse from having too many players. A core group is best, usually 4-6.

I'm not very familiar with the Hellgate game/series, but a demonic themed apocalypse story, with a group of survivors/soldiers working together could prove to be a fun story. Maybe something along the lines of us going on a mission to seal a gate (not sure if that's how it works) or maybe just trying to take down some big bad demon that's come to our neck of the woods?

Yeah.

That's basically the gist of several missions in the Hellgate game. There were fewer 'seal the gate' missions than there were 'kill the unique demon' missions. Partially because there was a bounty board...

But the game is just the main inspiration, and I do not intend to follow it all that closely. While I am not sure about active rifts/gates or if there would have been temporary rifts/gates, we will definitely be killing more powerful embodiments of evil.
