In this world, there are many gods, and of these many gods there are many soldiers called 'deraphim' (derived from the word 'seraphim', the highest ranking of angels in the Christian Bible). These deraphim take upon the visage that their master god would want -- for example, deraphim of the goddess Antana (the god of nature and rebirth) have light hair and pastel eyes, and higher ranking deraphim have beastlike attributes.

Two of the major gods, T'vanij (the god of justice and order) and Vixlin (the god of chaos and destruction) have been locked in an eternal stalemate since their conception and birth. The brothers constantly battle for social and emotional dominance over the people of this unnamed world.

The Sovereign Deraphim of the god T'vanij and the Viscount Deraphim of the god Vixlin are the products of this stalemate. In an attempt to create champions to fight in their name, as they are not allowed to, Vixlin took the heart of a bull and the hair of a siren to create a warrior that uses trickery and deceit in order to best their enemies. Consequently, T'vanij held liquid steel in his hand and forged a mask which he donned upon the babe of a mighty elk, giving grace a mortal form.

While these champions have never met, the Fates have other plans. Where their relationship with one-another will go, destiny only knows.
