I'd like to change my avatar, signature and registration details but it shows 'page not found' whenever I try to access it. It's been like this past quite a long while.

Hmm. That is really, really... weird. Maybe it thinks that the numbers in your username are the numerical identity assigned when someone registers (For giggles, type roleplayerguild.com/users/(any four-digit number here) and it will redirect you to users/(their username)) So maybe the system thinks that your username is a numerical identity and tries to redirect to a profile, only to find no profile associated with that number?
I have no idea.
Hmm.
This is one for the big boss... @Mahz
Kindly don't kill me for summoning you, almighty Mahz! But this is WAYYY above my non-existent volunteer paygrade!

That's excellent! Have I found a way to break the website? Hmm, well I'm not malicious or anything but .......MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hey, we should team up and start a villian team. I can break stuff and you can analyze the pieces, then we'll be like:

"You really shouldn't have left your car in the garage. Someone might break in, take your car and run it over with a panzeR tank! ...See!?" Runs a tank over in fRont of them.

"Very unsafe."

We'll call ourselves Civil Service. @RomanAria

Oh goodness. You, sir, are terrifying. But I'm not the best analyzer... You'd be better off with someone who knows computer coding, or at least someone capable of something more useful than being fluentish in Latin and a half-decent clarinetist.

Now now, don't be modest. Latin is the favoured language of Hermetic Magic and what is Music but the favoured language of the Soul?

There are few things in the world more important than these two items. I'd say that you have quite the repetoir!

Oh, I thank you most sincerely. But still, Latin and clarinet-playing would do us little good if we got into a pickle, as we invariably would being partners in crime.

What's this? Crime? CRIME?! @71342 the moment, and I mean THE moment I am able to find your profile page, assess your recent activities and collect your personal information, I will be anonymously reporting them to the cyber police on accounts of 1st degree flattery and unlawful use of the phrase 'panzer tank'.

Oh dear. @Jyoliod, what if the victim of the flattery actually enjoys it, though? ^.^
and @71342, the number username is quite clever. I can actually remember it for when I want to tag you! However I do think it broke the system. So.... I know I have a question in to Mahz but... Hmm.
Ohwait I remember him now!
@TheMaster99 I don't know if you're still working on guild coding or not, but... Could you take a peek for us?

I'll take a look at the code when I get home from school, but I'm pretty confident that the numerical username is the culprit. Worst case scenario there will probably have to be an exception in the code made just for you/any other numerical usernamed (totally a word) people.

EDIT: took a look at the stats and there are 35k ish users, definitely short of your 71342. It definitely sees a number and tries to interpret it as a userid. Since such doesn't exist, it errors.

When I get home I'll try making the uid->username functionality a backup rather than a default: if name exists as username use that user, else check as userid, instead of automatically assuming all numbers are userids.

Can't promise it'll be pushed to the site anytime soon, because Mahz is away grinding money IRL for a bit, and I have no actual power. I can submit code to be reviewed by him before being pushed, but can't push it myself.

@RomanAria sorry ma'am, if I made an exception for you, then I'd suddenly have to make an exception for everyone who enjoys their flattery, and I just can't do that. Why? Here are some alarming statistics.

100% of everyone who receives flattery will die.
The only age group confirmed to have never committed flattery is within the rangess of 0 and 1. Additionally there has never been a confirmed sentencing of a human within said age range ever being charged for a crime.
100% of all people who've given unwarranted flattery will have everyone they've ever known die.

You think about that.

@TheMaster99 Thank you for responding to my summons so quickly. I think the highest user ID that is assigned ATM is 14484... A quick experiment with the user feature (Typing in various IDs until I got a "not found" error) told me that much. I cannot pretend to understand what you're saying, I mean, I get what you want to do, but as far as how you would do it makes no sense to me.
I seriously need to do a quick hour-of-code lesson, because the only thing I even remotely know how to code is Microsoft Visual Basic (And only that on an elementary level) which isn't all that useful for something like this. Grr.

Also, @Jyoliod: But why do you even bother trying? Because here are some equally-alarming statistics:
Not receiving flattery in life has a 100% mortality rate. Not only that, everyone who doesn't recieve flattery in life will die.
Trying to prevent people from receiving flattery also has a 100% mortality rate.
At least 50% of females (I cannot speak for males) enjoy being flattered.
And finally. You, sir, are a hypocrite. I applaud your good manners, but calling me "ma'am" when I am nothing of the sort (Just a teenaged girl and an inelegant one at that) is most definitely flattery in and of itself.

@RomanAria No problem!

Unfortunately, although Mahz and I agreed on a solution after a bit of thinking, the code is pretty hostile to my dev environment at this point, so I won't be able to make any progress. Not making any promises (or putting words in his mouth, for that matter) but I presume that Mahz will squash the bug when he is available to do so.

@RomanAria a very simple break down of the process that I assume @TheMaster99(praise his holy name) was referring too would go like this. [Click URL to /user/71342] ISSUE: Site searches username database for username with userid 71342, no result found. Return error. (This part you already know, as you've displayed quite well.) Solution: Structure a bit of code that says; When searching for userid 71342, use 71342 as the username value, else(code for 'if that doesn't work') continue as it normally would. - At least this is how I understand it, I am by no means a programmer, but I used to structure small electrical circuits and chip boards as a hobby, and a lot of the logic gates used in said hobby are also used as very basic program functions(OR, XOR, AND, ect. ect.). If you know binary and are interested in some neat, conceptual foundations for circuits and programming, look up 'Boolean Gates', it's an interesting topic to read about if you're curious as to how computers work as their most basic level.

Additionally I could be making a complete fool of myself as I haven't touched code or circuits in a number of years(besides BBcode obviously) and am slightly rusty but I'm fairly confident what I've said is an accurate, generalized representation.

Finally, @RomanAria, HOW'D YOU KNOW THOSE FIGURES?! I've worked my entire life to cover that up! Tirelessly, I've changed wiki article after wiki article that would even insinuate such a thing! YOU ARE STUMBLING ONTO SOMETHING YOU AUGHT NOT TO STUMBLE ONTO! As for my hypocrisy, well, ahh, ma'am was a typo, I meant to type 'mam', which is a British informal noun that means: One's mother. ~ Wait, that would insinuate I was calling you my mother. I'll need to get back to you on that one... ... ...

Oh boolean logic. I've heard of it and done a little reading. And as far as the if-then-else statements, I had to do a bit with them when I was learning to code Visual Basic for my school programming class. Enough that I know what they mean. I just have no idea how complex they would be to code with whatever language the Guild runs on.
Also, I'm thinking the noun "mam" would not apply to me when spoken by you... based on the way you write I can almost guarantee that you are at least five years my senior.

A spy! We cannot let our plans be ruined by the likes of you. Quick, @RomanAria! Use your latin powers to take it down while I distract him/her!

"Pazer tank! Panzer tank! Panzer tank!" /grabs Jyoliod's aggro

Honestly though, @RomanAria@TheMaster99@Jyoliod, I appreciate you guys coming to help solve this issue with all your technical knowledge and machine magic. In such short time too!

It makes me feel so welcomed, yet so contrastingly ...extra at the same time. (I have invested almost no skill points into coding and can't even lie about it If I need to.)

All I can do is move RpG a few dozen votes up on the top list of Roleplay websites on the world wide web.
