King Sevaun Terralence

Reputation: Brelan is a fair prince, and many look forward to the day of his rule. He has a silver tongue and a steady hand when in battle, but lacks the strong will of his father. Some fear that his rule will lead to a fall in the kingdom's strength.

Reputation: The King in recent years has progressively earned the fear and loathing of many of his citizens. While he leads with a strong hand, his methods have become increasingly harsh, especially on his lower class citizens. Some speculate that he may be turning mad, especially as he continues to relinquish his throne despite the fact that Brelan should have inherited the throne at 19.

Name: Gareth, "Stone-face," "Dullblade," other derogatory nicknames. Mostly he just goes by "Gareth."

Personality: Grim and antisocial, Gareth is the picture of a stoic mercenary. He responds to money and little else, and his face is usually immovable as a stone. He alienates fellow sellswords with his personality, and exclusively takes jobs where he can be by himself. Because of his solitary nature, it's unclear what he truly likes or dislikes, but it is nearly impossible to make him angry, or emotional at all. Perhaps he has everything shut up inside of himself, or maybe he really doesn't feel anything at all. But if the latter case is true, why is he even living life at all?
Reputation: Gareth is well-known in Taenyth, and would be known to those in Afaede who might have knowledge of large-scale criminals (thus, probably the royal family.) He is no secretive thief, and is often so confident in his own strength that he would walk right into a place and take what he wants. He has no home and does not frequent cities much, so the law can seldom touch him. He is known as a wandering brute, or maybe even a wild man who lives in the forest. Because of his rough nature, it is told that he has no honor and would betray anyone. His signature is his weapon (see below, Combat Abilities.)

Motive for kidnapping: The money, of course. He refuses to say who is paying him, but he hails from the rival kingdom of Taenyth, a place he rarely leaves, so it isn't difficult to make an educated guess.
Likes: Solitude, cooking, relaxing in nature, taking things slow.
Dislikes: Noisy people, demanding people, needy people, snakes.

Combat abilities: Gareth's signature weapon is a large two-handed sword, dull and pitted from old age and so much use. While he is mocked for not keeping his weapon sharp, he makes up for it with an exceedingly strong sword-arm, turning the weapon into more of a sword-shaped club than an actual blade. In a fight he focuses mostly on keeping himself steady, defending and watching for good times to strike. He's very difficult to unnerve, even in the heat of battle, which makes him a great fighter and a great strategist, and he excels at making plans on the fly and adapting.
