"This is an abandoned nightclub." Gary replied to John. "You can't trespass somewhere that doesn't belong to anyone." He added, while struggling against the vines gripping his wrists. "We just saw a fucking Vygorn leave this place so what are you doing here then?" Gary asked, aggressively. He then looked at the women holding them in place. "Let us go and we'll talk this out, huh?" He then looked up to Phil. "What do ya say?" He asked.

"Why don't we just talk like this," Gwen returned, still suspicious of the man. "We'll decide whether we let you go or not depending based on our nice, little 'discussion'."

Gwen walked up closer to the man and glared at him intensely. "Listen, I don't know who you are, but we're the good guys. So if you're fighting against the Vygorns, going after us is pretty counter-productive. Now, you're not in the position to be telling us what to do so I recommend you give us some answers now or else I'll feed you to the dragon."

The last part was just a bluff, but Gwen was getting sick of other people messing with her. Her palms filled with light energy and she held one of them up to the man's throat and the rest at whoever else was left, moving it so it would have pointed at everyone at least once. Maybe it wasn't really necessary, but damn, it felt good.

Amaya Tsukino

Amaya was in her favorite class, Psychology. She wrote down every single word in her 5 subject notebook, most of which was filled with notes from her semester class, and observations of those around her. While the subject interested her, there was no way she'd be able to get a job with a psychology degree. As her professor began discussing the meaning behind varying degrees of dilation of the pupil, an over whelming sense of nausea consumed her senses. Amaya closed her eyes and put her head in her hands, massaging her temples. She focused on breathing deeply, and the steady rhythmic beat of her heart. The harmonizing rhythms slowly lulled Amaya into a subconscious part of her mind. Within the depths of blackness, a nurturing melody called out to her. Contrary to the warm it emitted, the voice sang, "Ice, Ice, Ice,". As if that word contained the answer to everything. Unfortunately, answers aren't always knowledge that brings peace. Suddenly, the conscious part of Amaya's brain threw the reality of her current situation at her within a fraction of a millisecond. Amaya's heart burst out of her chest as her spine snapped straight, and her eyelids flung open wide.

After a second, her brain was finally able to process her surrounding. All the students in the room, had their jackets or hoodies on. The professor had paused his lecture to check the thermostat. Amaya calmly looked down at the crystalline pattern of frost that radiated from her hands. She quickly placed her notebook and textbook in a way that covered the majority of the crisp, frost snowflake. For the rest of class she tried her best to look inconspicuous and focused on the lesson.

Cloud 9, New York. It was farther away than Amaya would have cared for, however, the mysteries and questions surrounding this place and the vision intrigued her. She could skip most of her classes, she just needed to study from her textbooks and previous notes. After all she just needed to take the final in order to pass the class. The only thing Amaya would miss was her psychology class.

So after the hassle of booking a plane flight for the next day, Amaya began to prepare her things from her dorm room. She informed her roommate that she'd be gone for awhile. Hopefully not long, but you can never be sure. The time it took to arrive at New York seemed to take way longer than it should have. Having no money to stay at a hotel (being a poor college student), and knowing no one who lived in the New York area, Amaya had brought her suitcases, containing her life, to this moldy, run down night club.

It was at this time that Amaya seriously reconsidered her decision. She grew nervous, if there was no one here, then what was the point of coming here? A waste of money obviously. But what if there are people down there? What kind of people are they? Not to mention, if there are then Amaya is literally walking in to a social situation that is far from pleasant. However, there was no point in sitting here looking ridiculous, contemplating questions when the answer it right in front of her. So Amaya gathered her two large black suitcases and her backpack, and headed around the building to find a staircase leading into the depths of underground. She lugged her belongings behind her, trying to be discreet since she didn't know who she was dealing with.

While Ethan hoped things could be handled without violence, if a fight broke out he knew whose side he was. He slowly took his hands down. At that time he thought of an even worse possibility then reinforcements or extra weapons.

"You know, I just realized something. How can we be sure these guys aren't Vygorns simply pretending to be helpless without weapons?" As he said it he really hoped he was wrong cause the Elemental group probably wouldn't do too well when it came to teamwork, seeing as they knew almost nothing about each other.

Phil just watched as the whole thing unfolded. Phil sighed as he replied to the man "Okay, I'll tell you what. Tell me who you are and I'll ask my associate here to let you go..." He then turned to the elementals and stated "Calm down, I don't know what contact any of you have had with Vygorn but these are certainly not them. For a first, none of them seem to know what we are AND they haven't used any void abilities."

He then walked up to the man who he previously talked to.
"So, let's start with brief introductions. My name is Phil, I am a Hygorn, also known as an elemental. You are..." Phil said, hoping the man would introduce himself properly.

Gary struggled one last time against the vines before realising it was useless. He then looked at Phil. "Gary..." he said with a sigh. "We're Junker Squad, and we're Renegades. An activist group openly fighting the Vygorn scum." He said with spite at the mention of Vygorns. He then looked at his team mates. "Stop struggling guys, they'll let us go." Gary said to reassure Junker Squad. "We're still going to take our weapons back though. But we'll keep our bargain to remain peaceful, okay?" Gary said, trying to sway the situation a little.

.

"Let us go and we'll talk this out, huh?" He then looked up to Phil. "What do ya say?" He asked. Serena watched the men carefully. They didn't seem like evil people, the only dangerous aspect about them was the guns. But now that they were gone... The only thing she wanted was to avoid violence, that's all. Serena was about to will the vines to let go of them when Phill spoke up.

"Okay, I'll tell you what. Tell me who you are and I'll ask my associate here to let you go..." He then turned to the elementals and stated "Calm down, I don't know what contact any of you have had with Vygorn but these are certainly not them. For a first, none of them seem to know what we are AND they haven't used any void abilities."

Phil's words were completely right. What Serena didn't understand is how they found out about this place. Wasn't it supposed to be rundown and long abandoned?

Phil then walked up to the man who he previously talked to."So, let's start with brief introductions. My name is Phil, I am a Hygorn, also known as an elemental. You are..." Phil said

But we'll keep our bargain to remain peaceful, okay?"

The weapons again? Why were they so concerned about holding something that could stop the heart of another being? Serena could never do such a thing, nor could she keep them trapped with their arms any longer. With a nod, the vines returned to the ground, but taking the weapons with them.

"Gary, I really sorry for hurting you all," She said, taking a step forward, hoping he would understand, "Weapons are deadly though, you could kill someone with it. I don't think you need them to talk with us." Serena's mind felt trapped in an endless maze, and no matter which way she went, the decision was always bad. Would being a so called elemental be like this? How could she be one and not hurt anyone? I have to find a way.... I just have to. She promised herself.

Renegade Reinforcement Squad- Searchlight Team

Max, leader of Searchlight Team, was sent to Cloud 9 to hold the perimeter as Junker Squad investigated Vygorn presence. He held up at the top of the street, equipped with a revolver held by his belt and a Stetson Cowboy hat. He talked on the radio with a teammate. "So, are you all in position?" He asked, with his thick southern accent. "Pretty much." The voice replied. "Okay, we wait for Junker Squad to contact base before we do anythi-" Wait a minute, did another person enter the Club? "Hang on, I'm going in." Max said. He jogged to the entrance and pulled out his pistol. He peered and saw a women in there with two suitcases. He went into the club and aimed at her head. "Hold up there missy." He said.

When Amaya heard an unexpected voice behind her, she whipped around, dropping her suitcases. They fell a couple steps, making a loud noise, before friction slowed them to a stop. "Who are you?" She asked, confused, yet still wanting control over the situation. After all he had a pistol pointed at her head. She needed to figure out if he was here to kill her, or if he was just an over cautious person.

"I'm a Renegade, but I think I'll ask the questions here? So who are you?" He asked, trying to be as confident as possible. Was she a Vygorn? Hopefully not, but he heard they had a knack for pretending to be innocent.

"Um, I'm just a normal person? My name's Amaya if that's what you're asking," She slowly moved her hands up in a defensive position. This man was definitely a suspicious kind of person. If she just played innocent, maybe she'll win his trust. Or at least enough, so that he'll stop pointing weapons at her.

"Well then, that makes things a lot easier." Max said sarcastically, still pointing the gun. "But I guess you would now tell me what you are doing at an abandoned nightclub, hmm?" He then asked. He needed to get as much information as possible until he could be sure. If things didn't become clear he would have to take her to the Warehouse.

"Honestly, I came here because of a dream. Well, more like a vision." Amaya said, carefully picking her words. Depending on the person, some people can be set off by certain words or phrases. "I'm here simply because I was curious of what the vision ment. It's human nature to find the answers to questions, right?"

"Right, but a vision? Sorry Ma'am, but I don't beleive a word of that." He said, shaking his head. "Im sorry to ask this, but I need you to come with me, the Renegades need answers from people like you." He asked of her, politeness would hopefull work first.

Apperantly, Amaya's tactic of moving this mysterious man's focus to the normal nature of curiousity failed. Under normal circumstances she might have gone with him, but these were not those circumstances. She didn't pay a lot of money to fly here, just to be captured by some random guy with a gun. She needed answers. "Sorry, but I don't even know who the Renegades are, not to mention I still need to find out the reason behind my vision." She said, her eyes carefully eyed him suspiciously.

"I can understand that, and as soon as my... organisation gets some answers from you, you can come back to whatever you were doing, okay?" He explained. "Now I wanna do this peacefully."

"How do I know I can trust you?" Amaya eyed suspiciously. Since this man seemed to want to resolve this peacefully, she decided to push some boundries. This was her chance to psychoanalyze him. Wait, no. Now was not the time for that! However, Amaya couldn't help but see how far she could push. "Not to mention where are you going to take me? And what are we going to do there that we can't do here?" She asked crossing her arms. She wanted to seem pushier than she actually was. Maybe, they could resolve everything here.

"Because I don't have all the questions I want to ask." Max said. He then cocked the gun. "I would really hate to do this but if you won't come quietly then me and my boys are going to have to forcefully take you with us. So last chance." He explained, he then took his radio out and clicked the button, getting ready to talk.

Amaya's ice bule eyes widened. well, that took a turn for the worst. "Threatening me with force just makes you less trustworthy you know." She said, calmly, collecting herself together. Did she push too far? No, there was still a way to back out of this, but he was still suspicious. Amaya didn't trust him, not at all. The way he spoke, his stance, the way his eyes reacted to her questions, they all seemed to say that he believed that what he was doing is the right thing, however, he might be being manipulated.

"I won't warn you again missy." Max said, more threatening. "I will get my boys in here." He said again, reinforcing his point again. "So I will ask again, will you come quietly or will we have to force you?" It was clear Max was getting frustrated.

"What do you stand for? What's your position in this situation, and I don't mean this exchange. I mean in terms of the Vygorns." This time Amaya decided to cut straight to the point. The man was getting testy. The fact that he might have back up was definately true, his pupils didn't dialate to the degree that indicated lying. Also, Amaya may know martial arts, but they had guns, plus she didn't know how to harness her powers yet. She hasn't found the time or place to.

"We are freedom fighters." Max stated proudly. "And with the Vygorns, we want to crush their empire, and kick them off our planet. Or even better, we want to exterminate all of them." Max said. explaining the Renegades purpose. "We fight for the humans that can't." He added. "We need to question you because another squad spotted a Vygorn leaving the club, and are downstairs to investigate. With you being here... look we need to see what you know, long story short." He said.

"I see, that makes sense." Amaya said, concentrating hard. Should she risk it? He seems to be telling the truth, but again someone could still be manipulating him. With one final look towards the staircase she made her answer. "Fine, but I would like to get this over with as soon as possible. I've already delayed my arrival for too long."

"That's fair enough. You might want to grab your suitcases though." He said, finally with a smile. "Bring the truck round the front." He said through the radio.

"Alright," Amaya sighed with a resigned look on her face. She carefully picked her suitcases up, and dragged them to where the unnamed man stood. Which reminded her, "What's your name anyways?" She asked, looking him up and down, finally analyzing him as a human and not a threat.

"Maxwell," He said smiling, tipping his hat. "Friends call me Cowboy. Pleasure to meet ya Amaya." He said, he then went outside, "Follow me." He said, friendly. A red pick up truck pulled up to the front.

Amaya wordlessly followed him. What kind of organisation drove around in a red pick up truck? They must not have a lot of funding, but the weapons say otherwise. Hm, maybe they just have different prioities.

There were four other Renegades in the truck already. "Whats up boss?" The driver asked, who wore a black hoodie and sunglasses that hid his eyes. "We got someone to question at the Warehouse." Max explained. He then opened the passenger seat door for Amaya. "After you." He said.

"What about my suitcases?" She asked, motioning to the heavy luggage at her feet.

Maxwell snapped his fingers. "Shoot, I forgot. Apologies." He said. He then holstered his revolver and picked up the luggage by himself before placing them carefully in the trunk with three other squad members. He then hopped in the back himself. "You have the passenger seat Amaya." He said as he clambered aboard.

"Thanks," Amaya gave a half smile, before sliding into the passenger seat. She eyed the driver seeing what she could analyze about him. For now, her life rested in the hands of these people. Hopefully she could trust them, if not... Well, then it'd be game over for Amaya.

Max then scanned his team and nodded with a smile, he then slammed his hand on the side of the truck twice to let the driver know it was time to go. "Take us home Jack." He said. The engine revved before it accelerated down the street.

Once he was down the steps Eric came into a large open cavern like space. It was a bit overwhelming and some what suspicious for just a simple abandon building, who'd put think to build something like this down here any way? And why would they? If I knew any better, I'd say this is a setup. he thought to himself as he looked over the area. *Clatter!* The sound brought him out of his gawking and against the nearest wall he could put himself against. His heart began to run at a fast rate. He began to open and close his hand as he looked back towards the stairs he came down from just a few minutes earlier.

Eric could hear someone talking, but couldn't really hear who was speaking or what they were talking about, but he didn't want to wait around to find out what seeing how it was too perfectly timed and convenient as he came down into the place himself. Ok, keep a cool head... Lets see if there is another way out. He slowly started backing himself away from the stairs. As soon as he put well enough distance between him and the stairs he turned and looked down the path of two different corridors. Now to find another way out. They both had doors to them, but one of them was slightly ajar and the other closed.

Looks like I'll take that one.He went towards the door that was slightly opened already, seeing that it could be opened due to wind blowing against the door from the outside. He moved with more pep in his step, grabbed the handle and opened it...

Today isn't my lucky day. he opened the door to a group of people dressed up in some familiar garbs that he couldn't quite place on where he's seen it, but what really caught his attention was that there was some guy in front of him and the group standing in directly in front of Eric, dressed a bit odd, with... A d-dragon?! Ok, I've officially think I'm on the brink of insanity.

Ethan understood that the gangmembers wanted their weapons back because it would show that the Elementals trusted them and also to even the playing field between the two groups, but honestly he still didn't trust them. Luckily it seemed the decision got delayed a bit because someone new entered the scene.

Ethan had no idea if this newcomer was another elemental or not but decided to test it. "Trust me if you're here because of a vision from someone calling herself Lyra, this is the right room." He got Kyra's name wrong on purpose, believing that if the new guy was lying about the vision he would get the name wrong. Of course wrong name or not the gangmembers might not have anything to do with him but a coincidence was just too unlikely giving the timing.

Renegades... sounds legit enough... Phil thought to himself, totally unaware that Toran had started to fly overhead. His concentration was quickly broken by the doors opening revealing a man. "Um... I think I got the wrong room?" he said awkwardly... "Trust me if you're here because of a vision from someone calling herself Lyra, this is the right room." Ethan replied.

Phil cleared his throat to get Ethan's attention. "Kyra... thank you very much" He corrected, obviously insulted by the 'error'. "Sir, give me a few minutes. can you wait outside while me and... our guests sort out something". He then turned to Gary and continued "you hunt Vygorns, right? well so do we... well, I at the moment. I'm training these young men".

He turned to Serena and instructed "let them go and let them take their weapons". He then looked Gary straight in the eye with a serious expression. "Be warned though, before even thinking about harming anyone in this room, just know that I am faster than the speed of light and more intense than the sun" he said in an intimidating tone. his eyes focused into a stare before continuing. "That's not metaphoric either".

Grk-! Phil was scary... Jason was hiding in the back with this whole affair, being afraid of real guns. Guns that kill people. But everything seemed to be... Sort of cleared up. So he walked up, looking a bit shaken and nervous. "E-err... We really don't mean any harm at all. About half of us didn't even know what a Vygorn was... Including me." The guy scratched the back of his head, looking towards the newcomer. Probably another elemental?

Gwen looked at the newcomer that just entered the room and couldn't help but feel bad for him. "Geez, his timing is perfect," she thought sarcastically to herself. She strolled over to him and gently put an arm around his shoulder, or at least she tried to, it turns out that he was a bit too tall for that. She settled with a playful punch in the arm instead. "Welcome to hell, you're just in time," she smirked. She realized he was pretty freaked out by the entire situation and tried her best to comfort him. "I'm Gwen, the weird man with the dragon is Phil, the pretty girl with the vines is Serena, the kid who looks like he wants to go home is Jason, the dude with the British look and glasses is John, the red-head is Ethan, I don't know who that quiet guy over there is (Nick), and that jerk is apparently Gary," she explained. Then she took a deep breath, she wasn't really used to talking this much. "So, who are you?"

💮Serena Myers💮

Serena was completely focused on Gary and his men, she barely noticed someone new enter. It's only been five minutes with these people and already you've lost your manners! What would mother say? Serena guessed it didn't matter what her mother said, she wasn't here, Serena was on her own.

"Don't be afraid," She said, trying to calm his obvious nerves "We're just like you, see?" Serena held out her palms, a growing red rose bloomed right in her hands. This had taken her months to perfect, and it was something she loved doing. Creating life filled her with joy and passion. But now wasn't the time for thinking about that. She smiled at him one last time before turning to Phil.

"Let them go and let them take their weapons" Phil said to Serena and looked Gary straight in the eye with a serious expression. "Be warned though, before even thinking about harming anyone in this room, just know that I am faster than the speed of light and more intense than the sun" he said in an intimidating tone. his eyes focused into a stare before continuing. "That's not metaphoric either".

Serena got the chills from his rather terrifying threat. Tonight, Serena was experiencing so many new things, she couldn't even count them. Hesitatingly, she willed the vines to return Gary and his men their weapons. Had Phil not asked her to, she probably would have kept them as far away from them as she could. Serena just didn't understand why anyone would want to hold a gun, let alone use it.

"I still do not understand why anyone would wish to hold the power of something lethal and capable of killing another being," Serena mumbled to herself.

Gary

Gary listened to the elementals points, and then took heed of Phil's threats. "Got it man, no problem." He said, raising his hands up, then he and his members took back their weapons that Serena held captive. Gary cocked his gun as Serena commented on the weaponry. "I guess it's a security kind of thing... I mean, we need something to stop the Vygorns killing us, right?" He said, as a response even though she wasn't necessarily aiming it at them. All of a sudden, Gary's radio chimed in, "Junker Squad, Searchlight came in for back-up and discovered a potential intel source, they are bringing her to the Warehouse, return immediately, your job is done." Gary then realised that someone who was a part of their group must have arrived late and was found by Searchlight Squad. "Phil, I think we have one of your people," He said, he then turned to the muscled man and the woman with the gas mask. "Get the trucks." Gary said, they both nodded and left the underground of the club. "Sorry to take you from here but we're going to need you to come with us." Gary said. "Whether you decide to come or not, could you let me know outside?" He requested before sliding his pistol into his pocket and walking upstairs.

THE WAREHOUSE

Max leant of the side as the pickup truck pulled up to the warehouse. Two armed guards dressed in similar garbs to the renegades stood outside the gate. "Who's that?" One of them said, nodding to Amaya. "Our intel, let us in." Max ordered. "You got it, cowboy." the guard said, pulling the gate open. The truck calmly went through and made it's way to the warehouse. A huge compound seemingly abandoned, but with the Renegades' symbol expertly spray painted on the side above two large metal doors. The truck went through the open doors and pulled into a bustling hive of activity with many renegade members running, lifting boxes, maintaining weapons or driving trucks in and out. Max hopped out of the side and went round to Amaya's door. He opened it for her and moved to the side. "Welcome to our home." He said with a smile. A shirtless man wearing tight blue jeans who's torso and arms was covered in tattoos. He strided across the warehouse floor past the bustle and straight to the truck. "This is her?" He questioned.

Phil felt bad as the men took their weapons, They really meant no harm... He thought as he listened to Gary's request. He waited for all the Resistance to leave before turning towards the group. "I... That... happened..." Phil said with a confused look on his face.

Toran then landed on Phil's head, pushing his hair in front of his eyes. "Phil, you should go. They are a perfect force to use against the Vygorns. You should see if you can recruit them! Scatterbrain..." Toran said as if a manner of fact. Phil swatted at Toran till he flew off out the open door and proceeded to fix his hair back into place. "One day, I'll get you a fucking perch..." he muttered under his breath. He then looked at back at the elementals as an awkward silence hit the room. After a moment, Phil came up with an idea which he vocalised optimistically "We should all go! This could be important and you could all learn from it. It seems low risk enough but, of course, it's up to your selves to decide. If your coming, follow me. If not, well... you can stay here and... entertain yourself or something?"

Phil then realised that there was one, very confused Hygorn still waiting for his briefing on his situation. Gwen tried but... Well it's the thought that counts Phil thought as he walked up to the fairly tall man. Phil took a minute to chose his words before speaking. "I know you are confused but if you had a vision recently and have had a type of control over an element, then I can explain everything. Just follow us, I'll explain along the way. If you are just an unlucky bystander who just walked in on this..." Phil paused as he realised that this man could just be some random guy. He quickly rooted around in his brain for an answer and came out with "Your Dreaming" as an excuse.

"Nice one, you glorified light bulb" Toran telepathically said to Phil. Phil once again just gave a look of dissatisfaction at Toran's comment.

Yeah, I thought it was Kyra as well... Eric thought as he looked back at the man with red hair. The group of people he was standing behind didn't bat an eyelash at him as they left out the same way he came inside.

Then a girl who sported black hair with the ends dyed a blonde color approached him she attempted at placing her arm around his shoulders, but that wasn't happening, since she was rather, a bit short for that at Eric's height, so she just merely jabbed him in the arm "Welcome to hell, you're just in time," the girl smirked at him, which was a little off putting if this was the ideal place for hell to be.

Then she took a deep breath, "So, who are you?"

Ok, then... Glad to know I'm not the only odd ball here. As he was about to explain who he was, the man named Phil beat him to the punch.

"I know you are confused but if you had a vision recently and have had a type of control over an element, then I can explain everything. Just follow us, I'll explain along the way. If you are just an unlucky bystander who just walked in on this... Your Dreaming," Phil had explained to him.

Eric let a small grin show "Trust me if I was in a dream I would've thought I of a better place then this," he lifted his wrist up waving slightly at the group. "The name if Eric and yes I'd like to know exactly why I was told to come here," he said putting his hand inside his pocket and the other holding onto his bag.

As much as his paranoia told him to turn tail and haul ass back to anywhere but here, he couldn't leave. Not just yet, and this was his best opportunity to find the answers he needed.

Ethan still didn't exactly trust the newcomers, especially not the ones who aimed weapons at him, but he had already decided that he was gonna help with this Vygorn stuff. "I'm not happy with it but I'll come with you guys." As he said it he glared at Gary clearly angry.

He then turned to the other Elementals."What about you, are you gonna be smart or are you coming along as well?" Having made his feelings on the matter clear he climbed the staircase out of the abandoned club.

Ugh... This was all so surreal. The again, discovering powers over... Darkness, or whatever, was already surprising enough. Then a voice, coming to a warehouse, getting beat up a bit... And then almost a face full of lead. "To hell with it all..." The boy mumbles, then stretches out his arm. Waiting until Gary was outside he turned back to the group. "I'd say we go. Considering this giant clusterfuck just happened, and probably the fact that... Vygorn, or whatever, now know we exist... I think we're going to need any edge we get? Fuck, I don't know..." The kids was trying to figure things out, being much more calm than before. Jason honestly still has no clue about what to do. Taking up the offer seemed like the best course of action, I mean, he's already caught up in this web. Struggling in a web only gets you more entangled in it, so not fighting it seems like the best option. Although he was going to wait on everyone to go before him, or at least more than there already are... If not everyone's on board there's not much point to bothering.

Phil looked at Jason and smiled. "Jason isn't lying... The fact that you've been seen does put you on their radar. Just like that one fire eleme-" Phil stated, pausing before he freaked someone out. "Phil, Don't. Finish. That. Sentence." Toran telepathically commanded. Phil itched his head awkwardly before pushing the subject along. "anyway, it would be good if you all came along, you'll probably learn about just how much of a threat the Vygorns are for any of you who haven't heard of them before today" he said matter-of-factly.

"Well, everyone who is with me, let's go" he shouted as he lightly jogged out the room and up the stairs. Phil signalled Gary as he left the abandoned club to get his attention and, as he approached him, said "I'm ready and some others should follow up behind me soon... By the way, how far is your base of operations".
