MORTAL KOMBAT!

I'm a fan of people being murdered in hilarious ways, so naturally I'm a fan of Mortal Kombat. Lately I've been playing MKX and it's pretty good so I was wondering if there were any other sick minded people out there who would be interested in a Mortal Kombat RP. Now you might be saying to yourself, "But the story in Mortal Kombat is really stupid." And you're right. But whatever.

So if you're interested let me know. To keep things simple we would probably start the story with the original MK game, and from there it would sort of take on a life of its own and go in whatever direction we decide to take it. If you have your own story ideas I'd also be happy to hear them.

Welp, the 90's kid in me seems to have been awakened by this, but we'll see how things turn out. Hoping it veers more towards the tone of the earlier games though, since my main complaint about MKX seems to be that it wasn't ridiculous and over the top enough if that makes sense. XD

Not really. This would be our own version of the MK universe, with the story beginning at the tournament form the original game.

The other option is to just kontinue off of the Mortal Kombat X ending. Either way we will have komplete kreative freedom to take the plot in whatever direction we want.

Yeah, Mortal Kombat is super rad. I really like the range of awesome characters that this universe allows, if we can come up with some really good ones, this could be really fun. If we did go with a reboot universe, I’d bring up that we’d have to go through 2 tournaments, and those could take hella long.

Unless Earthrealm loses the first tournament. That would be a way to radically change the story and take it in a new direction. Earthrealm would be merged with Outworld and ruled over by Shao Kahn. Our characters could then be part of some kind of underground resistance movement.

Big question for everyone.

Though it is not my Rp to manage.

What would you guys like?

An Alternate Universe with Races you can make to alter history? New Sorcerers? Maybe new Elder gods?
What types of combat and how would it work? What about Co-op? Like teams as well as Team Techs?

(Example, say I was a Ninja or Elementalist who used wind and a Shiri Ryu Ninja used fire, could do a whirlwind attack, to a wider arc of flames. Just an idea.)

He did want to hear our ideas, so I was giving mine.

That was basically what I assumed we'd do if we were starting from the original, really. ^^; Like, the same basic plot and universe but with a different cast. But I'm fine with following on from MKX, even if that means I'll need to look into how that actually ends. XD

You got my attention there, to be honest. Mortal Kombat:Shaolin Monks came to my head inmediatly when you said Co-Op and I was thinking that maybe our story takes in and after the first tournament. Sure, Shao Kahn restores Shang Tsung's youth BUT he does not respect the rules of Mortal Kombat set by the Elder Gods, so he just steps through the dimensional gates and tries to claim Earthrealm for himself. I am thinking that maybe we could have bad guys and good guys working together (like Jax, Sonya and Kano) but that is my opinion and this was just my little plot. It can really takes us places since A LOT happens between Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat 2's ending. In fact, I know who I will be playing.

I loved Sholin Monks, it might have been over the top silly, but it was coherent and simple, which is nice because it never over complicated things and it was also a Metroidvania styled game.

The Co-op things were more inspired by that, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Xillia and yeah.

But seeing as this can go either way, I also wanted to explore the elementals. Like Johnny Cage's,Jade's and NightWolf's shadow element. I know it is explained in the comics, but I'm not the richest guy to buy them.

Like, I get I'm going into advanced territory with possibilities on a what is an otherwise simple series, but I like the idea of something above and beyond just basics. Yeah, heavy topics to delve into, but we can still do a simple execution of it.

I'd honestly want to be a Wind Ninja-esque character.

We can still just go with the alternate universe. The fact is, MKX is relatively new and if a lot of people haven't played it yet then it will be hard to base our story off of it.

The idea of starting the story after the first MK makes sense, leading into the events of MKII. It would be much more accessible to people.
