I've been watching... I would contribute but things seem to be well in hand... I suppose this is an expression of interest.

@ArenaSnow No suggestions? I think we're still pretty open for ideas.

How about a map to put the territories of both sides, where everything is set in? Doesn't need to be completely filled out, that would be for the course of Rp, just a general one to put distance and the like in context.

That would be beautiful! But I suggest we wait a little for Silen. He came up with the idea.

But here are some suggestions:
- Well humans probably have at least 2 ports and the fastest way to reach each other is by sea.
- I'd suggest a trench. Where the really ugly and ancient monsters slumber (Kraken, Leviathan, Jormungand,...).
- Obviously the new mer-creature palace
- Old Atlantis, the 'sunken' kingdom of the old mer-creatures
- ...

Though again, it's up to Silen if he wants to use it all.

@Legion02@ArenaSnowhello! (FYI, I'm a girl :p)

Anyway, I think we should make a map, and the trench is an excellent idea. Maybe Atlantis could be located in a portion of the territory that is forbidden to go to for it's dangers. The leviathan could be guarding the city and attack anyone who darks to enter the dangerous waters, but say if some one managed to get the relic(unsure what) than they could use it to command the beast to help them.

And I think we should put our nods together to come up with a list of mer-creatures people can be.

Would Atlantis be a ruin or a bustling city that is just guarded from outside contact?

@ArenaSnowi was thinking ruins, and we could come up with a whole legend about what happened

If you would like, I can write up a draft of the relic/leviathan/Atlantis history and post it here for ya to have a look at.

Is the world based on a spin-off of the real one? if not, there would be quite a bit of worldbuilding to it...

Mer-people:
The half...
...Ocotopusses. Sea-witches, known for dancing on the edges of black magic. Gifted and powerful, a sea-witch can achieve a lot through her magic, though is shunned by most others. (Again, looking at you Ursula).
...fishes. Or standard mermaids and mermen. They are the most numerous and thus are the ethnic majority. Most use their magic to influence the sea creatures around them. Often with special objects like a flute, horn or bell.
...lobsters. Or Cerceans. They have an armored tail and back, with powerful muscles. Soldiers and warriors, bred for war and battle. During peace time they serve as guards. Though they aren't really gifted in the magic of the seas.

I'm just thinking, what about making the relic to control the Leviathan not carry-able? Like to control the Ancients you have to play a specific part of a song on an special organ in Atlantis. So even when you reach the Organ, it's sort of useless until you know what part of what song you must play.

I could help with the worldbuilding, if you like.

Well, I'm thinking if we are going to worldbuild... best to have a set of things to "build about", eh?

@Legion02

I love that list X3 I hope you don't mind if I use it!

And the organ idea is very unique. It would also make sure that not just anyone could control the monster.

And as for world building, maybe we should only concentrate on the coasts in which the rp is actually taking place. Other than explaining a little bit about what the world is called and what kind of creatures inhabit it@ArenaSnow

CS, formulating these discussions into the OP, etc. Rushing it isn't a good idea, I'm just curious.

The Kraken
The Kraken. The First. Alpha. The knowledge around its birth was destroyed together with Atlantis. This ancient, one-eyed monster’s tentacles often cast the last shadow over those unfortunate enough to enter its grounds. For those with a little more foolish fightning spirit, the Kraken has another weapon. Its mouth. With 5 rows of viciously sharp teeth it can shred you to pieces before you even fall into its stomach. Feared and infamous, the Kraken now lays dormant at the Trench. Waiting for the One Song to wake it up.

Jormungand

Serpent. End. Slayer of the Alfather. Jormungand is a massive sea-serpent. The Norn thought that its body kept the seas together. Jormungand is far less known that his cousin, the Kraken. Though equally, if not more dangerous. He prefers to play with its prey, winding around a ship and see who will jump and who will fight. His spit is also toxic. The Great Serpent also lays beneath the Trench, waiting for the Song of Ragnarok to wake it up.

Leviathan

Guardian. Destroyer. Traitor. Misguided One. Many suspect that Leviathan was the cause of the destruction of Atlantis. The massive lobster is surprisingly agile in the water. It was once the great guardian of Atlantis. No human ship could even near the legendary city without encountering this destructive force given shape. Now, after Atlantis’ Doom, the Leviathan still roams the waters, protecting the Sunken City’s secrets. Unlike his brothers, Leviathan doesn’t need to be woken up. Instead, it needs new orders, given to him through an unknown song. Leviathan is said to be the strongest of the three.

Eldrich
An old story still told by gibbering old human and mere-people women alike. “Before this city. Before our king. Before Atlantis. Before the three Ancients, there was Eldrich. He gave birth to the three Ancients. And they began to roam the oceans.” Is the only few sentences left about the story. For some odd reason, both humans and mer-people know about Eldrich. Though his existences has never been proven. There were never sightings of him. Only a few self-proclaimed prophets. Though, if Eldrich is real, the creatures of the world have good reason to fear him.

So anyway, I made a quick few 'descriptions' of the Ancients or the monsters Atlantis could control. As always, these are just suggestions.

I make Eldrich simply to keep something more open. Like telling people that there is a distinct possibility that there is more. Just not right now.

Thank you! So, I got a 'favor' to ask. So, I personally love to make villains and well, I'd ask if I could start piecing him (or her) together and if the RP starts if I could play him/her. Of course, I totally understand if you prefer to keep control over the antagonist!

O.o Legion beat me to that one... think there could be a villain on both sides?

By the way, CS is character sheet, Gm is GameMaster (legion, for example, would make a good Co-Gm, who essentially does what he is doing right now) OOC is Out of Character (this conversation) and IC is In Character (when we start roleplaying). Of course, most of that would come when we actually go into a main roleplaying thread.
