There’s an old story in Chinese folklore about a magical connection between two people that are destined to be soul mates, called ‘the red string of fate’. It’s not the kind of connection we’re used to thinking of, where you fall in love with your soul mate and feel an intense connection to them. In Chinese folklore the red string of fate is an actual object… a string that’s red but also invisible at the same time. It’s tied to a pinky finger of every person on earth and stretches all the way out to the pinky finger of their soulmate wherever that is, regardless of time and space. Legend says that the string can get very tangled up but it will never break.
The red string of fate is tied by a being called the Old Man Under The Moon and once he has bound you to your soul mate your destiny is set, no matter what you think.
I kindly invite you to Hong Sheng manor located on Akai Ito Island. This stay will last from Februrary 25th, 2014 through August 25th, 2014. Transportaion there will be provided and room and board are free. You are of course free to decline my offer but please send word of your decision by Februrary 10th. Ten young teenagers were sent a letter from a mysterious man named Yuè Xià Lǎo. They don't know why they were picked or for what. What they are not aware of is that this strange man is in fact a God called the Old Man Under The Moon, the old lunar matchmaker god who is also in charge of marriages. He has picked these ten teens because he has been watching them from up above and he has seen that they are unhappy and are unable to find love. So he decided to lend a helping hand and invited them to his home. However, they were not just picked just because of their unfortunate lifes. When they were born he tied a red thread around their finger which connects them to one of the people arriving on the island. It's up to them to find out who their soulmate is. Drama, misunderstandings, and love await these ten young people. Are they up to the challenge?

3. I reserve the right to deny any CS for any reason as well as for my Co-Gm(s), if they can explain to me privately why.

5. Nothing past PG-16 for romance. It can be taken to PM's if need be.
6. Me and my Co-Gm(s) word is law. No exceptions. (If you wish to be Co-Gm, let me know. ^^)

An artist through and through, Arabella spends more time lost in the clouds and in her own head than she does in reality. She can be very forgetful most of the time. She is also very clumsy and can seem to trip over a flat surface though she always bounces back up and tries to go on as if nothing ever happened; try being the operative word. While she seems dreamy and distant to others, she is actually very perceptive- when she is paying attention that is. She is also very smart when she tries. She is very honest with people though she does not really think about how her words may effect others and so she may unintentially say hurtful things without meaning to. She can always be seen with her sketchpad and she is always scribbling or sketching something or another when inspiration hits her. But beneath the surface, what other people rarely see, is what Arabella hides behind her cloud of serenity. She hides a broken and damaged heart that she guards from everyone.
Arabella's parents never got along. Every night, screams, shouts and the sound of things breaking would fill the house, causing Arabella to squeeze her eyes shut, cover her head will a pillow and hope she could escape to the safe place that was her dreams, where her parents loved each other and they were a happy family. Arabella had never been particularly close with her father, who had wanted a son but was stuck with a daughter. This only added fuel to her parents arguments when her mother was told that Arabella would be the one and only child she would ever be able to have. Her mother hated living in the small house they lived in. Hated the cramped feeling of it. Hated how it made her feel like she was living in a cage. But Arabella didn't mind; she was with her mother. Her hero. The one person who could make everything better. The only thing that kept her mother from packing her bags and leaving was Arabella herself. But...one night, after a particularly loud screaming match Arabella heard the sound of draws slamming and by the time she had gotten out of bed to investigate, her mother had already on her way out the door. Arabella cried out for her mother not to leave her but the women merely glanced back, tears shining in her eyes before she closed the door with a final, resounding slam. That slam, with all its finality, sent Arabella's whole world crashing down around her and she withdrew in on herself, escaping to her daydreams; where nothing could ever hurt her.
She doesn't know what to think about it. She doesn't know what love is and her definition of it is what her parents have shown: Hate and violence. Whatever love is, it hurts and she runs from it.
"Why...Why would anyone want to be with me? I'm..I'm plain and uninteresting..."
She tends to speak before she thinks and she blurts out a lot of things without thinking of the consequences. She also tends to loose her train of thought easily and go off on something that is completely unrelated to the conversation topic.

Personailty: "Katty" as she is often called is quiet, onlooking and often awkward to be around. Anyone around her would say that her head is in the clouds and often, they aren't wrong. She spends much of her time reading and dreaming of being in a different world than the one she is now, such as the ones she reads about in her books. Many consider her stuck up, when in truth she is afraid to be around people due to things that happened to her in the past. When she isn't reading, She's writing music. She actually can play acoustic guitar beautifully... though she hides it. She feels no one really cares about her and she aches for something more.
History: Katty grew up in a home full of siblings; 5 others to be exact and all of them younger than her. With that, her parents paid less and less attention to Katty over the years, leaving her very lonely and unsure of what to do with herself. Instead of getting herself into trouble like most teens, she fell into her books. She would disappear for hours at a time, not that her parents noticed, with her nose in a book. From there she found books on how speak, read, and write chinese, as well as to play acoustic guitar, and she taught herself. When she played in public, people... actually seemed to like her. That is... until a jealous 'friend' took and smashed her guitar to bits and pieces. Since then she has chosen to keep to herself, finding people to be more trouble than they're worth.. and books are much more fun anyways.

Name: Luke Schneider
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Luke's behavior can be fickle at times, some days ranging from open and talkative while other days he is significantly more quiet, cold, and distant. This is a result of him trying to branch out and meet new people, before reminding himself that he can get a lot more done if he remains by himself and that trying to form bonds is a waste of time. Everything is prone to fade away anyway, is it not? So why open up to the risk of pain? In the end, he is more often than not in his reserved nature than in his outgoing one.
He enjoys listening to music while he's on his own, as well as reading and writing occasional stories that he then hides within journals (mainly out of paranoia that someone might steal his ideas). Luke also spends a lot of his time thinking about the nature of things by walking around places by himself. As a result, he can be a bit critical of other people and quick to jump to conclusions. With a hint of arrogance due to his ability to do well in academics and in sports, Luke is prone to coming off as a condescending to others around him whenever he feels challenged. Most of the time though, he doesn't care to boast all too much and keeps his accomplishments to himself.
Luke loves to be decisive and prefers others to be as such. Any lack of resolve in meaningful decisions in others, and he'll probably call them out as fickleminded.
History: Luke's past isn't too dramatic or riddled with familial issues and a neglect in attention. He's simply a person who more or less conditioned himself to be a solitary person in an attempt to maximize his productivity and ability to succeed in anything he undertook. This comes as a result from his relationship with his parents. Though they weren't abusive or anything of the sort by any means, he always felt that they expected a LOT out of him no matter how hard he tried. Something like this led to a bit of an "I'm useless complex", which is why nowadays he is often busy thinking about new things to do to try and find a spot to settle in.
To say that Luke hasn't tried to branch out and make lasting friends and find love would be a lie however. He has in the past, but each of his relationships with both friends and girls ended in some form of dissolution for whatever reason. The passage of time, a skew in worldviews, it always seemed to him that there was something around the corner slowly sprinkling acid on his bonds until they eventually broke and faded.
What does your character think about having a soulmate: "It'd.... honestly be nice... but what's the use when such things are prone to fade one way or the other?"

History: Denny's parents divorced when he was 6 years old. leavening him and his 2 younger sisters with his mom; who went out and left them alone to go clubbing and live it up. Denny had to grow up fast for his sisters playing as both parents. after a while his mom remarried and left them with their grandparents. instead they were split up, Denny lived with his grandparents on his dad's side, and his sisters where sent to live with his grandma on his mom's side. when Denny turned 12 his grandparents divorced and sent him to live with his mom. as a result Denny began to blame himself for his and his sisters' misfortune. once he got to his mom's new home he found he had a half sister, stepbrother, and step sister. his step dad treated him more like a slave, and his mom did nothing about it. Which encouraged his step siblings to miss treat him. When Denny hit 17 his mom had decided he was to blame for her problems and kicked him out of the house. After Denny looked for his sisters, but found out his mom had taken them, so with heavy heart he moved on and pushed forward.

But by his senior year he's become one of the most popular people in school, all because he wanted it. This did bring about a fair amount of arrogance, which is why many girls say he's, "undateable" but he likes his standing on the social ladder very much.
History(Must be 3 complete sentences or more):John was born to a happy teenage couple who both came from loving, happy, rich parents. So for all of John's childhood, he wanted for nothing. Until he was 6. Then he wanted his family back together. His father left him and his mother, alone and they moved in with his maternal grandparents. Unfortunately, John's mother, Alice, sunk into a deep depression, and she stayed in her room most of John's childhood. It's for these reason that John was mainly raised by his grandparents, Henry and Lucy, but he didn't let these circumstances define him. All his friends describe him as happy and fun to be around.

History: Emma's life has never been really easy. When she started school, Everything was pretty normal. She even got some Friends. Everything was fine, until she moved to junior High school. Because she didn't have much Friends and because of her excellent grades, people started to talk some Bad things about her. Emma was totally unaware about This, until her All Friends left her All alone. They didn't want to become bullied because of her. Some days later, some girls started to say Bad things to her, and some of them even threw snowballs at her.
A couple of months later, she discovered "This boy" at her school. His name was Aleksi. immediately fell in love. She couldn't go to him because she didn't have the courage to do that. But one day, Aleksi came to ask some help to his home work. Emma was good at almost Everything in school, So This could be her chance. Chiyoye is a bright and cheerful girl, although she lacks skills when it comes to studying, which was often the reason why her aunt scolds her as well as the reason why she almost got kicked out of school. She can also sometimes exaggerate, panicking at difficult situations, which is why she often needs help from friends to calm down. She is also sometimes reckless, charging into battle at times without planning anything first. She seems to be a bit airheaded when it comes to love, questioning her relationship with most people. Despite this, she is forgiving and generous, She has high faith and trust to her friends and loved ones.
History:
Chiyoye has always done terrible in school and was always lazy to do anything. She always created problems in school because of people calling her names. After school was done, to get her mind off of those horrible things people have said to her she would take pictures of the forest which was right next to her Aunt's house. Her Aunt was abusive when Chiyoye got bad grades or a bad report. Of course, she didn't care. She always took her mind off of it with the need to take pictures. Boys tried dating her but she's waiting for perfect guy. Like in fairy tales, waiting to be awoken by a true love kiss.

At 15 her mother died and her dad fell into a depression. Deciding she had to keep her family afloat she became the sole provider of her family. She works goes to school,and is in her school's karate club and works the graveyard shift at a convenience store to pay for the bills, so she's never had time for love.

Personality: Brandon isn't one to speak out much or cause trouble. He often watches and tries to calm things down when stuff gets bad. He was always much a bookish person as well and isn't one to enjoy physical work outs, he does however, have the stamina to participate in them but wouldn't be proud of his strength. When it comes to problems he usually tries to think logically about before thinking emotionally about it. Though Brandon is a smart and calm person, he feels he has to be doing something all the time, whether it is pacing back and forth or just shaking his hands. Though he likes to listen to details, getting his full attention can be difficult if it doesn't involve him directly and will often stray in his chain of thought.
History: Brandon, as a kid, never really showed to be talented in social activity. His parents always pushed and encouraged him to talk to people. Brandon as he grew older, took in hobbies such as chess and simply reading to pass the time. He did however, stay fit by going jogging even as kid. As Brandon got older, so did his fear of talking to people. He watched as people around him began to use drugs and things he didn't seem to be appropriate and so he never really had a friend to talk to. It wasn't till his sophomore year in high school that he took interest in a woman. He was being picked on for not doing some jocks' homework when the girl told them to stop and got them to go away. After that, he grew attached to her and always tried to please and make her happy. Months went by and he thought his relationship was going well until she moved away and told him that they would never be together again. After time went by, he spent his junior and senior year in depression and didn't do much. He still continued his regular hobbies but became sort of dull. He was getting ready to move out when he received a letter about staying on an island and thought of it as a weird invitation. Though, he didn't like the idea, his parents encouraged him to go and he made his decision.
