@MelonHead Difficult, but entirely possible for fighters of this level. Especially considering the advantage of how much less Kanitah actually has to dip down to catch the leg, and how much more Fury has to extend his leg to keep Kanitah at range. If it weren't a full length kick, I wouldn't have gone for the grab, because the time between the strike and the hit would be too short. But because you stated that the was keeping Kanitah at range, the time that it takes for his kick to extend fully is longer, which would give Kanitah plenty of time to react in that simple of a way.

Am I saying that it wouldn't hurt his hands or wrists in any way shape or form? No.

But I am saying that with the situation that we're currently in, that him catching the kick is an entirely viable action. It's not a nonchalant action, it's just a simple reaction. Like the movements of Tai-Chi, he's using up less energy by making smaller movements with lesser impact. Rather than larger movements with greater impact.

Also; About the murder thing. The cops were there when we left the apartment later, a full investigation and everything happened apparently. Though we weren't asked anything because we were too far away from the incident to be considered actual character witnesses. We saw it from our apartment.

No, the full length of the kick works against you in this case, because you only have a very short point of contact (the end of the foot and maybe his ankle.) If you had stepped forward or something in order to gain purchase over more of the leg that would help, but as it stands your dealing with a fast moving point at the end of a leg.

However, on the opposite end. While I'm dealing with the point of the leg, you're striking into Kanitah who's loosened himself so that he can properly receive the kick. By bending his knee and crouching downwards, his body is in a less sturdy stance. Meaning that when he does catch the kick, he will move with the leg. Because Fury's kicks carry enough weight to move Kanitah if he isn't squared to resist the force of it. While it's a risky move, and it does come with the added negative of hurting his right hand and wrist, it does come with the positive of repositioning Fury. Who would expect his kick to land and for his opponent to not move with it, so his kick would carry through as Kanitah moved with the strike.

LeeRoy which discipline teaches that. I would like to know the reasons for such a move. No offense if that is what you were taught I just want to know why.

Understand I am NOT putting down your style, but I want to understand it.

The catching of the foot?
None that I know of, pretty much every movement made by Kanitah is a reckless gambit with risks and rewards. It's made up as it goes along on my end.

The moving with the foot because Fury has enough strength to upend a city bus and Kanitah only weighs 500 some odd lbs?
Logic, yo. Kanitah knows that not resisting the weight of each strike landed by either opponent, because neither opponent weighs even a quarter of the maximum output of the other fighter, would result in both parties flying off in the opposite direction. Unless they are holding onto something or matching the force, which Kanitah is attempting to do with the leg catch.

The way I've been rationalizing strength vs weight is by assuming our characters are able to use their own strength to prevent themselves going flying in most circumstances.

Fury can also use energy to this end, which gives him an added advantage.

The point here is that although you may attempt to catch Fury's foot, it probably isn't going to happen. You may have used your hands to soften an otherwise CRUSHING BLOW on Kanitah's knee cap, but actually gaining purchase and catching the foot from this kick just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, the main issue is that so far I've seen no reason why I should budge and change the nature of my response to your grab, I'll happily do so if someone convinces me with some real life examples or the like of our situation though.

Also, this conversation should probably be in our fight thread q.q ;d

I mean, this isn't really an argument. Just a disagreement on something that we don't see eye to eye on. Though I do suppose it will be me who budges, and since I figure that it wasn't going to work out in its entirety anyway. I'll take the hit and carry on. So we don't have to continue debating whether or not it would work.

I'm getting caught up on Rill and Skallagrim first, as I've held up both of them for a week now.

I mean, we think he might be alive. There's no blood anywhere, though his car is fucked up. There's no tape everywhere, so we assume he might have been taken away by paramedics instead of an on the spot investigation.

We're not certain.

Anyway, it doesn't directly affect me. So it doesn't bother me.

I'm less worried about witnessing it, and more worried about how many times we've heard gunshots recently and that being the nearest one.

Nah, but seriously the worst we have to deal with is a couple drug killings a year, though last year a guy was beheaded with a machete outside my local park for drug reasons, at about 7pm.

Druggies be crazy.

We actually had a really frightening incident recently, and I totally have a tinfoil theory for it too.

A family found a body underneath an overpass nearby our apartment complex, by the train tracks. Investigation couldn't figure out who he was, as in no name or records in the Virginia listings. So this guy was just some unknown found dead, and it was baffling and I think it's a cold case now.

Personally, I think the train conductor murdered the guy and tossed his body as he was passing.

Yeah. . .LeeRoy more than likely it is an MS-13 hit if I were to hazard a guess.

On another note I have added a fantasy character to my list.
