@Beach BurritoInteresting how you combine the black death, undead and medical mafias together.
My only complain is that your version of black death ma doom all Europe.
I mean if Spain struggles so much then other nations in the neighborhood also require rather extreme health protection measures to stay afloat.
Or would it be something which is exclusive to Spain. It goes without saying then that all the other nations will literally avoid you like plague.

@Commodore RobotI only skimmed through your NS for now but it looks okay.
You may need to actualize or flesh out some parts later but take this as you're in.
I am going for pan-continental empire, which is why I asked for various territories. Figured I can hop toward or away from the monster continent once I know what it is.
A pan-continental empire would be pretty much impossible at this day and age.
Travel takes 2-3 months by even the fastest ships, and twice of that via more heavier ships.
It may be fine if it's about you establishing a colony but maybe you rather wish to do that during the RP.
I'd like to play, and if I could reserve the region inhabited by ethnic britons (wales, brittany, and cornwall), that would be lovely.
Sure you can.
As your flag it looks much better than whatever I drew for my nation in Brimstone.
I played EU3 and EU4, which of course makes me fully qualified to partake in this.

In seriousness, though: Do we make our own nations, or adapt existing ones to fantasy? For example, if I want to play in Russia, will I be Muscovy by necessity, or would I be able to make my own country there?
You are almost completely free to make any kind of nation here, just like in almost every NRPs.
You ma need to conider what your neighbors do and adapt but something like choosing your capital city is your decision regardless.
At worst if you choose AU Russia you may have to find an excuse why you have a different capitol. Alternatively in your AU Russia the capitol was always a city different than Moscow.
And of course if you make a fully original nation then you aren't bound with any such things.

@Willy Vereb Basically instead of the black death rampaging across Europe and killing in excess of 25 million people during the mid 14th century anyone that had it and could make the exodus to Spain did so, chasing rumors of a cure. With the French border being the only land route into Europe the (In this revised history) much stronger nation enforces a quarantine. What little trade trickles in and out of Spain travels through lazarets--ships permanently at anchor--where they are harshly disinfected, lowly Imitadores the only couriers tasked with these routes (since they can survive the decontamination and are less likely to spread the disease) Portugal is the nation most at risk, since despite Spain's best efforts and honest attempts at imprisoning their populace illegals continue to chip away at their neighbor. Those that catch the plague inevitably seek salvation in Spain, so in essence the nearby nation is being converted rather than conquered. France is nowhere near as vulnerable, a fiercely guarded stretch of 'no-man's land' between the two nation. If someone decides to be France I'll let them decide what this chokepoint is, but I'm thinking they either resorted to a huge wall or allowed violent monsters or sub-humans to settle it as a buffer. Maybe they even used magic to create a confusing fog, vigilant golems or deadly swamp.

Spain is on the verge of a crisis, as it can't sustain itself and continues to receive criminals, lepers and other such unwanted refugees (One of their biggest imports, many nations willing to pay to be rid of them in a manner that saves face) That's why so much power rests with the Fraternidad de Médicos, the masses still hold out hope that the plague can be eradicated and that they might be properly cured. Revered as they are this cabal of doctors and mystics has its own agenda and the fate of the Segremony depends on outside influences. Perhaps they can negotiate for more land, becoming a vassal nation (But whom would risk it? And why?) Perhaps they are ignored and tensions allowed to boil over, leading to civil war? Will foreign powers support or depose the isolationist king? If the black death begins to spread anew it would not only weaken some very powerful nations but provide the perfect catalyst for a righteous genocide. The disease has a face now, and that face is Spain.

@JozarinLooks okay so far.
Albeit it's slightly strange how so far our player-controlled European countries are backwards in development.
Granted, they are divided by the sea and the closest foreign neighbors are France and Spain.
I just overall find it kinda amusing.
At this rate maybe America becomes the "advanced power". The exact reverse of how it were in history.

Oh, no, we will have fairly advanced technology - the lower classes all live in tribal society, but the upper classes have state of the art organisation and organisation. Tribes are the lowest rung in the hierarchy of my country - Prince > Duke > Count > Cheif. There are also mercantile and guild influences.

And now I will copy/paste that into my NS.

Alrighty, after thinking for a while, I've decided on voicing my interest in this rp, been also thinking on what to make and I think I got pretty neat one. The idea being an Elven Empire ruling over chunks of the Caribbean Isles as well as a small bits of Mexico. How does that sound?

Funnily enough, that's kind of my nation idea, too.
I planned something like an uniquely developed nation of elves which actually did visit Europe before any of the great explorers.
As such Europe refers to America as Alfheim (Elf Land) or something. They may even have legends claiming the otherworld exists beyond the Ocean or something.
I just wanted to wait
Still, technically you made the claim first. I should've called it before and I forgot that. So it's yours.
But if you can choose a territory somewhat away from the Carribeans then I'd like that.Alternatively we can co-own the territory or have mine situated at a different island groups close to Europe.
Perhaps we can discuss the details via PM collab.

@Commodore RobotThe Interest thread was only up for a few days also we haven't decided on the Co-GM.
If the game has a co-GM then technically there's nothing we cannot keep discussing in the OOC.

Civilizations are build from the ground-up, not in reverse.
Granted I have yet to see what you mean so I refrain from judgment until then.
Otherwise you have an interesting idea.

Well, you see, the people of Brytia want to hang onto their old way of life as long as possible, and they only adopt newer administration structures and lifestyles when absolutely necessary. Everyone in the land is trained in the use of at least two weapons.

In that case, I can easily move elsewhere, my elves could be more focused on the Central America/Southern Mexico area. :)

They could even be derived from your group.

Or in reverse, I'm fine with either.
Obviously two elven countries in the neighborhood of each other must mean there's some relation between them.

Indeed, could be friendly, neutral, or hostile. Should be interesting :)

I know for sure that my group is quite imperialistic, most of the land they own was taken by conquest, several races, humans included, living under their heel.

Imperialistic eh? Depending on where your elves are located I could imagine there being quite a bit of conflict in the past or present between our peoples. Probably quite a few Le'shi stuck under the heathen elfin boot and whatnot. If nothing else we'd probably be aware of each other, perhaps some other nations, NPC or player, serving as an American silk road analogue or something. Le'shi dyes are some of the best in the world after all.

Also as a sidenote: Currently converting my WIP into the proper shape and actually finishing it.

I did intend to border the Confederacy, so you'd be correct in there being conflict, both past and present between the two.
