I thought an OOC would be better since we've been able to settle on some key facts:

What? Doctor Who.
When? New Who, redoing season one and onward.
Who? The Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler, plus some other cool folks.
How? From three to a billion paragraphs? But, don't give me a billion please.
Why? Cause it's fun. Yeah!

So far we've also established some general starting points such as the fact we can jump off of the usual "Rose" plot with the Nesting Plastics. But rather than have Nine snoop around shops by himself, his TARDIS will malfunction (*wink* read: matchmaking meddler) and park itself right in the middle of Rose's flat. I assumed living room but Rose's bedroom would be even more ridiculous. I mean how on earth can Rose hide a random alien in her bedroom? And playing a feisty Jackie is almost as fun as being a flirty Jack. I don't mind sharing Rose's mom unless you want her and I'll nab Mickey, poor bloke.

And Nine just having recently regenerated is cool with me, I'm not picky. I mean it's how it was assumed in the beginning before the anniversary (which did Ten a terrible injustice if you ask me and why was Clara even around and Bad Wolf was a missed opportunity...) so sure. Hopefully Nine won't be too angst ridden though. Since we're kicking things off slightly different, will the TARDIS give Nine the tip about the aliens lurking? Or will some weird "plastics moved" story in the paper written by some crazy guy?

Sorry, does that make sense?

Woot! Ok, I think we're onto something. And yes, that totally makes sense.

As far as angst goes --I know I proposed before that the Time War is still going on -- but what if there is no Time War altogether? What if Gallifrey is simply alive and well? The Doctor would simply be doing what he's been doing for the past 8 generations -- having fun! -- without a shred of angst. As far as I can tell, up to the 8th Doctor he and the other Time Lords had an understanding: he'd keep saving the universe and the Time Lords would look the other way. What do you think? It'd mean episodes like Dalek wouldn't have so much impact -- or else they would turn out very differently.

I'm fine with no time war, I had no real feelings for or against it since it was a bit random and kind of hastily put together and then sort of "paused" and put somewhere else. *shrugs* So I can get an intro up if you want me to?

Awesome -- intro would be great! :)

And yeah, I seriously got the impression that the writers didn't know what the hell they were doing with the whole time war thing -- nothing about it made any sense. So, yay, never happened!

Yeah, not to mention those who supposedly died came back. I mean, what was the point of emphasizing Dalkes being killed along with the Time Lords when somehow a shit tone of Daleks survived? I mean, why would one Time Lord, maybe another counting the Master, be the only survivors? And then suddenly it got taken to a whole other dimension, while a neat 'trick" it just...it just did a lot of stuff that could have been polished. And then there's the crap with Clara's timeline in tune with the Doctor and River. The last two seasons have been rather sloppy. So yay for rewrites. I'll get an intro up ASAP. Do you mind if the TARDIS comes in the bedroom itself or something concealable like her closet?

EDIT - & you didn't mentioned whether or not you wanted the TARDIS to tip them off to the Plastics or if you wanted an incident or even a rumor to alert them.

The middle of the room or the closet, doesn't matter to me! Although Rose would have to have a pretty huge closet. XD

I think it'd make more sense for the Doctor to find out via an incident or newspaper or TV or hearsay or something. I can't think of any circumstance where the TARDIS actually gave the Doctor a tip about anything. He'll immediately know what's going on though -- the Nestene Consciousness and the Autons are directly lifted from the first episode of the Third Doctor -- right down to the walking mannequins with the guns in their hands. XD

Okay good, then. I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. As soon as I finish up some homework, I'll finish up my post. :3

Did Nine withdraw into the TARDIS or out of it, in the end? I just wanna be sure. Since Nine didn't respond to her offer, I'll probably bring Mickey in to stir things up since there is much else Rose can do presently.

I could introduce a timeskip, but I wanted to allow you the opportunity to have Rose react. I don't like assuming what your character would do, and I will never not allow you the chance to respond.

If you'd rather assume Rose does absolutely nothing and has no problem whatsoever with a strange older man hiding in a box in her bedroom (sounds pretty damn sketchy to me, I'd freak the fuck out, but I'm not Rose), I can add to the post after a period of IC time (say fifteen minutes or so) during which time the Doctor will stabilize the faulty TARDIS, find a leather jacket and properly introduce himself.

Well she's freaked out that's for sure, she's probably more bewildered and curious than upset. Of course it's not like you'd trust a random guy who shows up out of nowhere. I figure if I needed to bring Mickey in, he could have mentioned something about hearing strange stories about plastic coming to life, considering he could hear it around the pub or something. Otherwise the other thought would be to have Rose head off to the roof to get some space and clear her head, since a babbling guy with something on fire isn't really being helpful. If we wanted to have the plastics already attacking people, something could happen down below to catch their eye? (assume Nine follows Rose or doesn't) We could still have her get into the same sort of trouble from the canon episode if needed.

I'm gonna be really picky right now and say I really can't plot things out ahead of time. I guarantee I will get bored and frustrated if the characters' actions are forced to end up at a certain place. I have to be able to drop in plot points as they come, develop the plot as we go, and not know what's coming until we get to it. When the story calls for it, I'll drop in a clue or a walking Barbie doll or a newspaper article -- whatever would make sense or drive the story in that particular moment. You, of course, are free to do the same, and I hope you will. Just please don't storyboard ahead of time, and don't control my characters.

I know not a lot of people RP this way, and if you like plotting ahead that's awesome, but I can't. My philosophy is, do anything you want to do, drop in any plot device or alien monkey-llama or Jackie-is-a-cyborg wrench in the gears without a word ahead of time, and I'll gladly run with it. Have an idea and write it. Surprise me. I plan to go where the wind blows.

So if you want to bring in Mickey, go for it. If you have a crazy idea that would totally derail the plot, even better.

I don't need to plan every single thing ahead time but I was just unsure of what direction you had in mind based on the end of your post. I figured he'd take Rose's bait and they'd look around the city or something, Nine was busy, I get it.

But I do find it a bit pointless to wait for every response just to get a character moving in the same direction. I don't control people's characters unless it's to make something move along that's been decided. (ex: a question about direction is asked such as going out , and if as a writer I know we are going in said direction anyway, I can move along with the characters and not need to wait for a post to confirm something so we can just get moving). Doing things as we go is fine by me but I can't do things off the fly if there isn't much of even an implied direction or desire.

I like talking with partners, making sure both people are happy with the story, if people just do whatever they went, things tend to dwindle, as I've found. Your style is to just go with the flow, mine isn't. It's best we try to meet in the middle. Or stop now and say we tired. :/

Character actions don't reflect writer's actions, I know this to be true. But if you want Nine to swan off and find something out on his own, that's fine, but I won't be able to keep justifying Rose asking all of these questions and sticking around without some event or glue that makes Nine stand out instead of being labeled some crazy guy who might be a bit mental ya know? ^^; He just arrived and she has no idea what to make of him. I can keep my posts much shorter if you want to deal with some dialogue or something. I'm just trying to make this work.

At any rate, I got something up. I just want us to feel comfortable. I'm okay with trying to be more "spontaneous" but you'll have to try to ease my worries if I think we're writing ourselves into a corner. We're new with another, I'm sure the kinks can work themselves out if we just communicate, doesn't have to be detail planning.

I got a bit miffed at having the character's first actions dictated for me, and I may have reacted badly, sorry. I should've waited, cooled off and put some logic to it. I've been in a mood lately for other reasons, so of course I've been completely illogical, selfish and jumpy in handling everything. That's not me, usually.

I realize I haven't really been trying to meet you halfway, but I will try! In almost every way, though, it seems we do things in opposite ways, and I can see the two of us getting pretty frustrated with each other -- unless we actually do find a middle ground that works. ^^; I dunno, maybe at least give it a few more posts and see if we can strike a rhythm. A lot of times it takes that long to loosen up and figure out the beat.

But I liked your recent post quite a lot actually. :)

Again, sorry I've been an idiot. :/

I feel like I really ticked you off, which wasn't my intention at all. If you're ever uncomfortable, I'd like to know so I can fix it but at the same time, we both need to be enjoying things and not taking things too seriously, which is something I know I have to work on in terms of over planning things so I'm sorry if I crossed a line already...

Hopefully we can shake some kinks and try to come to an agreement in terms of A) going with the flow of things while B) making sure we're both on the same page in terms of goals and plot. I don't need to plan EVERYTHING as long as I know what we're doing in general, which means a general idea, the last thing I want to do is throw a twist or do something that's unwelcomed, is all I want to avoid.

So my school has settled down, I should get something up for you within 24 hours.

It's okay, I don't want us to get off on the wrong foot and despite having different tactics, I don't think it would be impossible for us to make something cool.

Yeah cool, thanks. :3 I had seriously bitchy PMS last week -- I'm still apologizing to 4 different people. More like groveling. XD

Ok, so, RAWR. Ahem. What's the plan, then? Go out for chips on the boardwalk, get shot at by crazy autons, get Mickey eaten? Wax museum? What else is plastic? Creepy little dolls? There should totally be little Chucky-esque dolls running around causing terror. Let's chase a doll out into the street!

I just had a thought that maybe somehow they steal the TARDIS and replace it with a plastic replica. Or lots of plastic replicas. Because the Nestene Consciousness had a terrible sense of humor.

Don't forget the Doctor's still regenerating and prone to complications. Rose and Mickey (and Jackie?) could be on their own for a bit.

I gots a post up. It's not glorious but it's there. ^^; I liked yours btw.

Mickey should get eaten...by a plastic TARDIS. Oh boy, he's gonna hate that thing for the rest of his life. XD They could hit up some play ground with plastic structures or something, that would be very freaky.
