You are a model citizen of Lithium City. You wake up, take your Rhino, eat your breakfast, go to work or school, come home, eat dinner, do your chores, sleep. Every day like clockwork. Sadness, anxiety, heartbreak, all of those are a thing of the past to you, if you have even ever felt them before. Most haven't. You live your life, and nothing every changes. At least, until some of your friends tell you about the outskirts of town. It's illegal to be out in those parts, but your friends seem determined to get you to come with them. They tell you of gangs that exist out in those parts, people who've stopped taking their Rhino like they have. A place where you can be truly free.
You feel like you have no other choice but to accept.
Basically, you are a teenager/young adult (Ages 15 to 25) who starts a new life in the outskirts of Lithium City in order to escape Omnydyne, the industry that runs the city. Omnydyne forces every citizen to take a pill called Rhino, which makes you feel no other emotions besides happiness. However, everyone who takes Rhino becomes almost mindless, taking away most of their capacity for thought. Most, at least. Some are able to get themselves off of the drug, which is highly addictive. However, withdrawals are hell, and some may not survive. It's in the food and water as well, forcing most of the outskirters to find other ways to get by.
The outskirters are organized into gangs, most of which are pretty friendly with each other, outside of some minor skirmishes over food and water. Recently, though, the gangs have been banding up in order to try and take Lithium City back from Omnydyne. Not everyone wants to play along however.
Yes, this is a sci-fi roleplay. Laser weapons are pretty common, but most of the gangs tend to use melee weapons. Baseball bats, lead pipes, etc etc etc. Normal angsty-teenager stuff. Cyborgs/robots/androids are accepted as characters.
Ask any questions you want, make your own character sheets (Name, Age, Gender, Personality, History, Appearance, Gang, etc etc.) PM to me before putting them into the character tab.
