Just wanted to say hi. I'm an insomniac who does stuff like reading and writing when I can't sleep. Recently discovered how fun roleplaying can be. I really enjoy creating a story with other people, and that's what I hope to accomplish here.

How long have you been dealing with insomnia?

Thank you much. I've had pretty bad insomnia for the past 4 months. Meds and sleeping pills work inconsistently. It has its perks, though. You get more hours out of the day to actually accomplish stuff. I feel more productive at night anyway.

4 months and just now discovering forum roleplaying, huh?
I sometimes suffer bouts of it myself(2-4 days, usually. quite mild as far as insomnia goes), and actually discovered forum roleplaying during one of my first really bad ones(got maybe 4 hours of sleep in one week), right after getting my first laptop, great way to pass the time when you can't sleep for extended periods.
just avoid anything philosophical, combining philosophy with sleep deprivation leads to rather nasty existential crisis, speaking form experience.

I feel you there, I've had enough bouts of 'oh god why do I exist?' for one lifetime. Your insomnia might be worse than mine actually, I at least get a little bit of sleep every night. Can't imagine only 4 hours out of a week.

It's usually closer to 5 hours in 3 days, that was just the worst bout, and it was broken up in about half an hour each night.
