@Ceira Im not certain- it may take a while for everyone to complete and the last group would have to wait a while before they could post :/ but i can see the audience commenting aspect as well. Would we be allowed to do other actions within the classroom as the other groups fought?

I think one at a time is a good idea, and those not taking part can comment too. So I agree with Levy. But in that case, I think it would be best to limit the length of time of the battle to a certain amount of posts. Another option would be for each pair to do a collab and then post it up here. Anyone heard of titanpad? You'd wait for your partner to be online, set up a document you can both edit to write your fight, and then post it up here. In that case, all the fights would be happening simultaneously. Once everyone's collab is up, we can move on to results or whatever is planned for after the fights.

@Levythelevy You brought up my main concern for the topic! I wasn't able to bring up the topic with the GM, but I would assume he'd agree that one group at a time would be way too time consuming. The alternative I came up with involved taking the portal to a designated training room, providing each player with their own fighting space. Of course, the appearance/contents of these rooms are debatable...

@Meridian Woooooops, I managed to overlook that post~ I like the sound of that idea. It'd make this first day come to an end much faster, but I don't wanna make any hasty decisions on my own >.<

Titanpad does seem like a good idea, but it could end up leaving the RP dead for a while (Waiting for the groups to finish writing their collabs), which is iffy to me since I like reading new posts.

No. Owl is smart in his own way, no one can tell him otherwise.

@NyxNyghtmare Fight scenes can be hard to write, so I vote we give a set period to have it up (four days to a week?), or GM and Co can pick a random victor and we move on? Except I understand some people have finals and the like. But this could be a compromise. Or if a pair don't have time to work on a collab within the set time they just decide who wins and lets the GMs know so we continue. They can share their awesome fight scene with us whenever they have time. :D Is that more acceptable for everyone?

The Titanpost idea sounds like an interesting one I wouldn't be adverse to trying. Timezones could be an issue, but it wouldn't be too difficult to manage. Titanpad does allow for collaboration, which this scene requires to some extent.

@Mivuli I was curious about the same thing, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a problem if there was a slight delay with the responses similar to the pacing we've been maintaining here, right?

I kinda like the titanpad idea, that way each group could get their battle done without facing the wrath of the other 1v1s at the same time :P

@Crimson Raven

Well the school is for magical creatures, so I don't think it would fit into the theme of the other students. Although I wouldn't mind your character having a much weaker version of the idea you have as a pet.

I think we should just keep it simple and post in the IC. We can all do it at once and there wouldn't be a need to use an external site. But I don't want to wait for every single duel to finish:

Person 1 posts in the IC, initiating the fight.

Person 2 responds to the situation.

Person 1 responds, saying that their character is unable to fight any longer.

Person 2 responds by stating his characters pride of winning.

~Both Players wait for other 1v1's to finish~

Person 1 and 2 continues on with the RP.

There wouldn't be a limit on how many posts there can be either, otherwise it could mean that on the final post that character would have to lose because it can't instantly kill the other. This would also help other people and I determine the fairness of a fight because it would be public.

Speaking of winning or losing maybe ooc or private message we can discuss the structure of the fight and decide who wins before hand? Might help facilitate speed and fairness

I think PM is a better choice, that way the conclusion of each fight could come out to be a surprise for everyone else~
