Crazy Scion Luck is a Lie

Member Seen 4 mos ago

I was thinking this Park.

I will begin working on an IC post immediately, but as for how they get into a fight. I may borrow off the HQ and overhear her name, then proceed to make a very stupid comment about it. Something along the lines of the mattress Queen and maybe a brothel joke. I'm sure that will get someone there and then from that point it can be settled in a few words as Scion tries to talk himself out of it, but only to end up making the situation worse. Something like that is running in my mind.

@SkallagrimOK. The first post is done, and my that took some time to type up. I will be taking my time more with these posts, then I did with Barti. I have a feeling that I will need to be much better with details for a fight with you.

@SkallagrimOK. It only took cranking Scion's anger up to 11, and his stress to 30, but we finally have a man who won't back down. This is actually uncharacteristic for Scion. He is usually a bit cowardly and pacifistic. He is just really having a very bad day.

@SkallagrimI'm not going to be able to work on this until I get off work, but I have a quick question I wanted to ask before I left. What does the dark mist from the dagger do? I am under the impression that since it can form a shield out of dark energy/matter that it strikes with with kinetic force behind it rather than generic magical energy. My follow up question is how much force does it strike with, if the first assumption is true. I just didn't see a line of reference to the amount of force it can produce in the weapons description.

On a different note. I had totally missed the line in which he slid off the horse. That was a bit of an oversight on my part, but what I really hadn't counted on, was him to just attacking flat out. I knew he was mad, but I thought he would atleast hear the first word before deciding that he wasn't in a listening mood. Looking it over. Scion could potentially dodge the back hand in a panic back step, but the dagger will pretty much get a clean shot. So, that's why I wanted to know what forces it can project to properly account for the blow.

Yes, the dagger is surrounded by ionized dark energy/matter that allows it form a solid when used as a shield. It strikes with kinetic force when used as a dagger/shield. The kinetic energy is normative at a ton of force, if he is given time to generate an induction field it can act as a force multiplier on the normal kinetic force.

####

addendum- To be clear, you are not under attack by the dagger at this time, the energies are merely lashing out towards you much as it is lashing put at the security guard with the gun. It is for effect and to establish that the energies are acting like a plasma sphere with flares in essence.

####

addendum- On the other matter, in character, back handing your character is more in line with his role as the Queen's Champion. It is a matter of honor and you have insulted her honor thus it's all about pain at this point. Of course since we are merely sparring I will have the Queen intervene and ensure it goes the non-lethal route.

OK. That has cleared things up considerably. So, the dagger is making a light show more or less, but, the way I see it, will still spook Scion regardless. I will try to work on something tonight. Sorry I disappeared for a bit there. My friday and saturday were unexpectedly busy and has killed a lot of my energy.

Take your time, I am in no hurry since this is both a spar/training session and a story element leading up to my big year end brawl with Rilla.

@SkallagrimWell crap. Skal. I guess you won before we even began. I know Scion can be a bit of an ass, but as angry, depressed, and frustrated as he is. He will throw a fight to save a mans life. That has always been a way to defeat him. No real hero risks an innocent's life for their pride. He also isn't going to try some daring rescue when it is abundantly clear his opponent could kill everyone there. That this thing with the bullet is just a show. So there is no point in retaliating. The only option for him, at this point, is to surrender.

Oh we haven't started. I just had to ensure your character wasn't just a loud-mouth bully and coward willing to let others die. The Dreamers do things for a reason.

Indeed. First lesson always try to create as neutral a field to fight in as possible. Otherwise bad guys can use crowds to their advantage.

I had an idea for a character that no one had ever seen the appearance of, and who almost always fought in a crowd. One of his main tactics would be appearing as generic NPC #1 and sneak attacking said opponent, by having one of his hirelings pose as the villian.

The issue is, it probably would never work. In almost all cases, the opponent just -know-.

Though, i was kind of like that, in a match of assassins against Tasuke, because the alternative was basically a year long(IC story) of them looking for each other, if not longer.

That reminds me of my assassin who manipulates sound.

Well. I am glad that it isn't over, but that is a hell of a thing to gamble with someone on. It is very manipulative and even arrogant for a character to assume that things will always go in their favor. It can also lead to them being very disliked by those who don't care for string pullers.

Scion, I don't understand why you keep applying human motives and emotions to the Dreamers. They are not human. They are nearly immortal beings and other than a cursory anatomical similarity they share with mankind, are not human in the least. Everything they do is carefully calculated, your choice one way or another would have been telling as to the type of personal honor code your character has, and how they would have had to deal with you.

Whether or not another character likes the Dreamers is of no concern to them. Skallagrim destroyed the Fireen home world which is why @MelonHead's Fury hunts Skallagrim and in fact most likely any Dreamer he can find across the multiverse (I'm looking at you Reaper @Rilla). If you choose to 'dislike' them so be it, use it as a story element for you character if you wish. If you look at them from a purely cosmic scale, they are neither good nor bad, they simply are. Like nature is neither good nor bad, but can be utterly and indiscriminately destructive.

Now on to our fight. I will only offer commentary of you request it.

I apply humanity to everything, and the Dreamers may focus more on logic to dictate their actions, but still had human emotion albeit suppressed. After all they seem no less capable of rage and indignation than any other person. These feelings, to me at least, are more emotional than logical. Those who are truly logical cannot be moved by feelings and opinion, only facts and more logic. So even if they are not meant to be human. They have at least some human qualities to them.

Also consider this an open invitation. I love talking story, and promote that you comment as much as you want.

On a story note. I think Scion will most likely take a neutral stance with the Dreamers. This is in light of your most recent post. He would not completely dislike Skal like he did at first. Though I am speaking in terms of end game. As for right now he is still pretty mad, and will do his best to pay Skal back for screwing up his vacation. You also may have made Dennis mad. Trust me when I say that is hard to do. Still forgiveness is in the cards, but for now some steam needs to be let off.

Also, on a different background plot note. What is the Dreamers take on dimensional travelers. I know there are more travelers than just Scion, but am unsure if the Dreamers view themselves as universal watchers, or cops. At least when it comes to interdimensional threats. This is only in light of the fact that their greatest enemy is trapped in another dimension. So, would need a dimensional traveler to escape.

I will post probably tomorrow, for it is late and I must work in the morning. So I shall have my reply then.

I don't know where you got the impression they are strictly logical. The Dreamers have emotions, all animals have emotions. All animals feel pain, anger, sorrow and loss, it merely is to the degree that the animal is self-aware enough to understand is the question. Any intelligence that may exist in the universe in all likelihood has some form of emotive capability even if we can only speculate on the extent of those emotional displays. Emotions in other species are viewed as an opportunity to understand and define the emotional parameters of said species. All of this is done to understand their capacity and limitations much like modern researchers conduct studies on animals today.

Skallagrim conducted a social experiment with you. Your character is what would be considered a verbal bully of the six defined bullying categories. Talking about someone in a manner that is disrespectful and in many cases hurtful. While you insulted the Queen and that is a punishable offense to the Dreamers hearkening back to a time prior their ascension. The first thing was to understand your psychology. Your actions whether an attempt to save the man, to allow him to be killed or to surrender yourself in self-sacrifice was what needed to be seen.

From your actions the Dreamers begin to place you in an ever refining category until they have enough information that they can store your dream fragment in the dark records.

Thus in our fight Skallagrim will record your actions and reactions, looking to see if you employ any stratagem in your actions or simply react and try to over power your opponent.

Dreamers are merely observers and recorders of information to be disseminated and studied by those in Slumber. Unless you are drenched in Galdhr energy they only mark your passing. If there is something unique and different then they will take more than a cursory notice of you. Watching from the shadows or if piqued enough they will approach the being or civilization.

God. Fucking. Dam it! I lost my post because the stupid website went down again. Fuck! I'm sorry Skal. I'll try to remake it, but it will take a bit. I just need to recover from the frustration and clean the house, god. So much to do.
