The military focuses on being able to preform at maximum efficiency in the constant cold weather so as to outlast any threats that may arise despite their small size.

Productions: the Coalition is heavily focused on researching new technologies to improve conditions in their nation. While their population is quite small and is almost entirely based in the two large underground cities dug into the landmass of Antarctic, scientific research has reached unprecedented levels due to the national mentality that in order to succeed you must contribute more to the society than those around you. The harsh climate has forced research almost exclusively into improvements in survivability for the common people. This has lead to greatly strengthened building and mining techniques to reinforce the constantly expanding underground cities. These cities are powered by many geothermal wells that take energy from deep in the Earth. As a side effect, this keeps the cities relatively warm and allows for enough heat to grow food in large underground greenhouses. Their third city lies above ground on the Antarctic Peninsula as the major trade city for the Coalition.

Once nation borders began to break down, they took advantage of the situation and left for the scientific outposts in Antarctica. Over the remaining course of the war and subsequent political collapses many refugees were drawn to the Coalition for its incredible process in building a society free from the threat of the war. The Coalition accepted all who made the trip on the condition that they work to carry their own weight in the growing society as they help to expand it. Over the time since, the two underground cities were developed in order to combat the climate. Now the Coalition continues to advance with its mentality of advancement for the good of all members of the Coalition and not the individual.

Racial Diversity: the Coalition accepts all races and has laws against discrimination in any form, but the majority of its citizens are white. Due to long times underground, most citizens in the two underground cities have much paler skin.

Religion: The Coalition accepts freedom of religion, but the vast majority of its citizens are either non practicing religious, Atheist, or Agnostic. Very few citizens still stick to the religions, if any, they had prior to joining the Coalition.

History of the Nation:
The Republic of Nigeria began to rise to power during its 2019 elections. Muhammadu Buhari in an attempt to secure power began to arrest political opponents such as Goodluck Jonathan. Eventually establishing one party rule under a military junta. In order to secure his position Buhari sought foreign backing for the United States in exchange for exclusive use of oil supplies and other various resources.

In order to take advantage of newly found American support Nigeria quickly pulled its peace keeping forces in various African Countries and quickly turned them towards the neighboring countries of Niger, Cameroon, and Benin. After nearly three years of war on all fronts Nigeria’s superior forces in terms of both numbers and military strength won them a decisive victory.

Shortly after their newly found conquest Buhari had died and was eventually succeeded by Mubashshir Hameed who strongly believed in a strong united West Africa under a single Islamic Religion. This lead to many wars against neighboring West African countries eventually leading to nearly six years of bloody conflict. Once Hameed secured the region he established the religious unity act. Anyone caught worshiping another god or not properly worshiping the Sunni faith would dace penalties as severe as death. Causing massacre not only in West African countries, but within Nigerian borders as well. Nearly 8 million people died as a result most Roman Catholics in Nigeria.

Shortly after World War III had begun Hameed chose to maintain his alliance with the United States. Even supplying Uranium, Oil, and other materials in order to help the war effort, while at the same time not directly intervening in the war. Six months into World War III Hameed had been assassinated by pro-independence revolutionaries, signaling the beginning of a massive uprising in the westernmost regions of Nigeria.

After nearly three long years of conflict and extreme strain on Nigerian resources Nigeria eventually surrendered to the insurgents letting them claim the regions of Liberia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, and Sierra Leone. During that time Safar Hamidi had taken control and openly stated the entering the region was "Hameed's first mistake of many" and "the rest of Western Africa will remain untouched, so long as I have a choice in the matter". For Hamidi it was a time of rebuilding and maintaining stability for Nigeria. He was convinced that Nigeria would not survive another revolution at its current rate and that his only chance was to incite change.

Hamidi quickly began to pass many political reforms to the war torn Nigeria, slowly returning the power back to the people. On the 21st of March 2044 Hamidi had announced open elections for all political parties, even going as far as to encourage debate and political opposition. During the year of elections three political parties were established The Unionist Faction lead by Daifallah Mir, The Democratic Party lead by Hamidi, and The People's Party lead by Kamaaluddeen Waheed. The elections finally ended with nearly 46% of the vote going to the Unionist Faction and their president Daifallah Mir. Promising a return to a strong Nigeria one that all can enjoy.

@Monkeypants I recently reread through your nation and I have 2 complaints. The first is that no major nuclear war happened, while some nukes where dropped, no huge amount was, and my other complaint is how South Korea and Japan joined your nation willingly, even though they have western economies and are basically Asia. If you get rid of all major nuclear battles in your history and redo how they joined your nation (I'd be fine if you conquered them) you will be re-accepted, until then, you are no longer accepted.

Edit, also nukes used by American forces in Korea.. Which is actually a active measure in real life to deter a war with north Korea.

Also, I have a huge part of my history is the invasion of Korea.. I mean a huge part. Nuking the dmz between north and south Korea, fighting naval battles to keep the America navy occupied... Invading Japan and dropping nukes near Tokyo..

Please re read the history. It clearly outlines an expansion riddled with war. I mean, I thought I was detailed.

This brings back memories! In the first forum roleplay, I played as a nation that controlled Antarctica! Hell, underground cities, founded by scientists, made up of refugees... it's literally the same!
