Erica was sitting anxiously in her sister's house. The TV was on since morning and the channel hadn't been switch since that. Her face was all over the news. It's been about 48 hours since the accident that night. Her husband was killed, not by her, she was sure. Her memories might be blurry about what happened, but she wouldn't lay her fingers on him, how could she kill her own husband who she loved so much?
She ran away to her sister's because she was afraid and shock, especially after Erica saw the news that she was accused as the suspect. She cried all night, two days straight, because the loss of her husband and also the tragedy upon her. Erica's sister, Cathy, approached her and brought a cup of warm tea. She looked at Erica's swollen eyes and sighed, "I don't know, Erica, Martin was... a good man, I... don't think you will kill him. I know you two've been arguing lately, it just..."
Erica glared at Cathy with her pale gray eyes, "Stop it, Cathy... Stop it, at least you must trust me when no one does," she burst into tears again, she couldn't remember how many times she had been crying. Cathy hugged her only sister and pat her head, "I trust you, Erica... I trust you."
Erica felt safer when she was with Cathy. Cathy might younger than her, but since they were kids, Cathy took the older sister role better than her. It might sound unfair, but that's how they relationship was. Cathy hadn't married, her last relationship was wrecked and Cathy hadn't had another boyfriend since that. So, Cathy's place was the safest place she could stay now.
Cathy kissed Erica's forehead and stood up, "Go get some rest, you can't keep staring the TV, nothing can be changed that way. I will find a way, okay?" Erica nodded and crawled to the bed. She pulled her blanket up to her head. She could feel her body shaking, she didn't know why, but she felt something wasn't right.
